How to turn conversations into sales without being pushy

In this 10‑minute sales coaching video, Toby Potter (The Unshakeable Investor) promotes an upcoming webinar and delivers a concise, actionable system for converting any conversation—whether a sales call, direct message, networking chat, or coffee meeting—into a closed deal without feeling pushy or fake. He frames every conversation as a "doorway" that should either open, be closed, or be discarded, rejecting wasted small talk. The core of his method is the CASH acronym: Curiosity (deeply uncover the prospect’s problem or goal), Awareness (make the prospect recognize the gap between current state and desired outcome), Solution Bridge (briefly link the gap to the speaker’s offering without a hard pitch), and High Clarity (secure a concrete next step, such as booking a focus call, with clear timing options). Potter walks through each step, provides sample questions and phrasing, demonstrates how to apply the framework in different contexts (sales calls, networking events, DMs), and emphasizes a problem‑solver mindset over a traditional salesperson attitude. He repeatedly urges viewers to register for his Saturday webinar, to DM "cash flow" for a conversation script, and to engage with the video (like, comment, share). The video blends motivational language with concrete scripts, positioning the CASH framework as a simple, repeatable process to turn existing conversations into revenue.

Okay, all right, so before we jump into all that, we are going to finish up our top 10 sales tools to turn any and all sales into closed deals. Today is all about turn every conversation into cash. Sales mastery in 10 minutes. Simple, simple tool getting ready to come at you. Here we go. So let's be real. You already have all the conversations. You've got the leads, you got the direct messaging, networking, coffee chats, sales calls. The problem isn't volume. The problem is conversations. Today, I'm going to show you how to turn almost any conversation into cash flow. That's right. Any without being weird, pushy, or fake. It's a mindset. One mindset. One framework that you can use today. This is the awesome thing about it. The mindset, every conversation is a doorway. Most people treat conversations like random moments. They don't see it as an opportunity. The pros treat them like doorways. Write this in your mind right here. Write this down. Every conversation ends in one of three ways. Period. Black and white. A clear next step, number one. Number two, a clear— it's just not a fit, just doesn't work. And number three, or it's wasted oxygen. We just chit-chatted, nothing was gained, no conclusion. Your new standard: no more wasted oxygen. You're not here to chit-chat, you're here to solve problems. You're here to either open up a door or honor that it's closed and move on. Okay. The framework I'm going to show you is CASH. C-A-S-H. CASH. Use this on all calls, all DMs, at any kind of networking events. Use this everywhere. Here's what it stands for. C, curiosity. You need to know what the problem is. A, awareness of the gap. Okay. S, solution bridge. H, high clarity and a next step. Say it out loud. Curiosity, awareness, solution, high clarity, giving you the next step. Number 1, curiosity. You start by being intensely, intensively curious about them. You know, nobody cares what you know until they know that you care. I'm sure you've heard that 1,000 times. And if you've heard it more than once, then why the heck are you not implementing it? Nobody cares what you know until they know that you care. So have intensive curiosity about them and where they want to go. Hey, what are you working on right now that matters the most to you? That's a great question. What's the biggest challenge in your business right now? Great. See, you're not pitching, you're gathering information. And your goal is to find a problem that you can help with, simple, or a goal you can help accelerate them with. Number 2, A, awareness of the gap. Now here's where you help them see the gap between where they are and where they want to be. So right now you're at current level. Where do you actually want to be in the next 6 to 12 months from now? That's the gap. Okay. And then what do you think is really in the way? See, you now know where they're at, where they want to go, but you need them to share with you what they think is holding them back. Remember, we're curious, we're trying to gather information, trying to get full awareness of the problem, of the goal, and what's stopping it. If their answer is fuzzy, tighten it up a little bit, narrow it down. Say, so basically it's a lack of leads, weak sales process, No plan, no accountability, whatever. Is that fair? So you're kind of helping them close that understanding and clarity. They're not used to having conversations that clarify their situation. This alone makes you stand out, makes you unique, makes you better than the last guy. S, Solution Bridge. Now you briefly bridge from their gap to what you do. Not a pitch, a bridge. Here's how that goes. Hey John, this is literally what I help people with. I work with whoever your audience is to go from the current situation to their desired goal by fixing their problems. You just wrap that right back in, bringing their situation, their problems right into you being the fixer. Then really one quick simple ask: you really want to hear how that would look for you? If they say yes, now you have permission to share a short, clear path. Step 1, here's how you do that: we do X. Step 2, we do Y. Step 3, you end up at XYZ. Very simple, real clean. No 10-minute monologue over pitching, overselling, showing up and throwing up about who you are, what you do, and your products. Nobody cares. They want to know how you can take them from here to there and how you can assure that to be guaranteed. Just the problem, the process, and the payoff. That's what you're trying to explain. Real quick. H, high clarity. High clarity. Most people lose the money right here. They end their conversation with something like this: Yeah, man, let's stay in touch. Close the deal. Okay, cool. Maybe we can work together sometime. Stop. You've got the fish on the hook. Reel it in. Grow a pair, grow a backbone. You've got them this far, they're eating out of your hand. Don't set this for a later date because you're too scared to close the deal. That's how the conversations die. You're gonna end with one clear step. Hear me right here, right now. Here's what I suggest. Let's book a focus call where we can go deep on your numbers your bottlenecks and see if this is really a fit. If it is, we'll map out the plan. If it's not, I'll tell you straight up. Sound fair enough? Boom, they're in. No pressure, no hype, no pushy, no BS. See, you're not a salesman, you're a problem solver. Okay? Or if you're already on a sales call, here's this, this is how this goes. Hey, based on everything you've just shared with me, right, my recommendation is we get you into XYZ program and start with the first step, whatever that is. And the investment to solve your problems is X. Real simple. Are you ready to fix this now? That's how that conversation goes. No maybes, no laters, no drifting. No nonsense, a real decision, to the point. All right, let's say you're at a networking event, so you got a rapid fire. You're going from person to person to person, and you're trying to generate leads and get people into your book of business. Here's how that goes. You're at a networking event, and they're talking to say, hey, business has been a little up and down. Your response is real simple. Really? What's driving the down? What's driving it down the most? Is it the leads, closings, fulfillment? Okay. And if you can fix that, what would the next 6 to 12 months look like? Well, this is exactly what I help people with. See, that's the cash. Let's set a real call for this week and map it out properly. What's better, mornings or afternoons? Always give them two choices. Morning, afternoons, great. Mornings, I got a 9 and 11. What works best for you? Afternoons, I got a 1 and a 3. What works best for you? Simple. Never say, what day do you have available? I don't have any days available. Is Monday work for you? No, Monday doesn't work for me. Okay, mornings, afternoons. Morning, great. 9, 11, 1, 3. I got Tuesday at 3 o'clock ready to go. I'm booking you right now. Have confidence. Make the decisions for them. See, people need to be led. Nobody wants to be sold. People want to buy of value. This is what you have to bring to the table. So let's just say you've got a direct message conversation and they come across, said, hey, I've been watching your content for a while. Great. I love that. What's the biggest thing you're trying to change right now in your life or in your business, and how long has that been an issue? See, I help people in that exact spot do X, Y, Z. You want me to walk you through what it would look like to fix that over the next 90 days? See, that's your cash. You're not forcing You're, you're leading. You're giving them clear, precise direction on— they reached out to you so that you know they have a problem. They clarified that they have a problem. You asked them what it would look like if you could fix that over the next 90 days, and they said, that sounds wonderful. Then you book the call to do the deep dive. Okay. Here's the whole play. From now on, every conversation runs through the CASH acronym. C-A-S-H. Curiosity, find the real problem or goal. Maybe it's both. Awareness, make the gap undeniable. Make sure that when you create that gap, that they say, yep, that is exactly the problem. There's no question about it. It's clear. This is the gap. Then you come up with solutions on how you bridge that gap. High clarity is the next step. One decision, one move. Do this and you'll be shocked how many random conversations turn into actual cash closings. Simple. Sales is so simple. Sales is simple. We as Type A personalities, salespeople, screw it up. The bigger we become, the better we think we are, the more we screw it up. I love bringing in a rookie who's never sold anything in their life because they don't know what they don't know, and they listen to everything I say. You have somebody that's a 10, 15, 20-year veteran, they know it all. Oh my God, they've been there, they've done that. They held every record at every company they've been at. The problem is they've been at 20 companies, which tells me they suck, or they would be at one place or have their own. See, we as salespeople, we try to show up and throw up. If I can help you change your mindset, I can help you make millions. That is an absolute guarantee. If this hits you and you're realizing how much money you've left in a casual chats, soft endings, and let's stay in touch conversations, here's your next move. Drop the word cash flow in the comments or DM me cash flow, and I'm going to send you my cash conversation script so you can keep it beside you and start turning conversations into contracts starting today. You don't need more leads, you need more leverage on the conversations you already have. Turn them into cash flow, turn them into solutions. It's real simple, it's real easy. If you like what you're hearing, you like what you're seeing, and this is truly helping you share, like, comment. More importantly, go register for the webinar this Saturday where I will absolutely give you all the tools, all the foundations you need to have the most amazing life you've ever, ever dreamt of.
