A speaker describes moving from quiet faith to passionate devotion and warns that stronger commitment invites fiercer spiritual attacks. He compares it to Job's trials and challenges listeners to examine whether they serve God for His sake or for personal reward.
In that transformation from being worldly— yeah, I'm doing my job, I'm living my life, but I'm just kind of quiet for God— to all of a sudden I'm on fire for God, I'm going to disrupt the world and light it up. We're the weakest, and Satan comes at us harder than ever, and God stands back just like he did with Job, just like he's done with everybody, stands back. And says, are you truly committed to me? Are you truly in this for me, or are you in this for you? And if you're in it for you, you'll give up.
