Three real-estate investors break down how to scale from a few flips to dozens. One speaker shares his five-year progression: 4-5 flips in year one (two lost money), then 15, 25, 43, and 62 flips by year five. The lesson: start small, learn from mistakes, then accelerate.
How many fix and flips and short-term rentals have you guys done in the past 5 years? And what was the progression like?
Year 1 was just getting our feet wet. And so we did 4 to 5 fix and flips total. And on 2 of those, we lost money, but we learned a lot. And then the second year we did about 15 fix and flips. The third year we did about 25 fix and flips. The fourth year we did 43, and then last year we did 62.
This is how you build a real estate portfolio. You start out small, you crawl, you walk, you run. A lot of people will crawl, run, and then they trip, fall, bust their nose. You don't know what you don't know. And so you want to go in conservatively, you want to go in meticulously, and you want to get educated. Like, share, comment, give me a call.
