The cases of measles in 2025 included 2,144 confirmed cases, 235 hospitalization. The main reasons for hospitalization were respiratory issues, dehydration and isolation. There were three deaths in a six year old, eight year old and an adult. Measles is one of the most contagious viral illnesses, but not every human infected with measles spreads measles. Super spreaders spread measles and other viral illness. Most symptoms of measles are mild, lasting from 10 to 14 days. The common complications are ear infections, diarrhea, pneumonia, hospitalizations including dehydration, and in rare cases, encephalitis and death. Before we discuss the MMR vaccine, let's discuss Vitamin A. There have been 43 trials that looked at over 215,000 children between 6 months and 5 of age. Overall, giving vitamin A reduce the risk of death by any cause from measles by 24% compared to placebo or usual treatments. In order for vitamin A to be effective, it has to be given in the first few days of illness. Take a screenshot of the WH dosing that I have right here. One dose of the MMR vaccine decreases the risk by 93%. Two doses the Mr. Vaccine decreases the risk of getting measles by 97%. Generally speaking, vaccinated children who get measles have a milder form than those who are not vaccinated. I recommend getting the MMR vaccine after the age of 3 years old, not the same time with any other vaccines and not during an active illness. My favorite natural preventive measures include lots of plant points, pooping every day, playing outside, drinking lots of water, vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc and vitamin A.
