They told us glyphosate was safe

Dr. Ana-Maria Temple asks experts what most people don't know about glyphosate. They report finding it in semen, pregnant women's urine, and clothing, and claim it contaminates most US cereals. Some say European Roundup formulas are less toxic than what's sold in America.

Many influential people and big voices have shown up for this rally, and I asked them all the same question: What is the one thing about glyphosate that most people don't know? Here's what they said.
People have no idea that glyphosate is in semen. That is right, it crosses the blood-testis barrier. I tested 4 semen samples and found glyphosate in all 4. It was from people eating things with glyphosate on it.
Glyphosate is a carcinogen, and 80% of American women have it in their urine while they're pregnant.
Because it's a chelator, it reduces the nutrient uptake into the shoot of the plant, which is what we and livestock eat, by 80 to 95%. It essentially gives the plant AIDS.
Glyphosate actually used to be a metal chelator, which binds to calcium, iron, magnesium, and zinc, which is so important that we actually need in our bodies. People don't realize that glyphosate is in everyday food— fruits, vegetables, grains, processed food. It's in everything. So I always hear people say all the time, you know, I eat healthy. I eat vegetables and fruits and grains, but they're eating conventional and it's full of glyphosate. That you cannot wash or scrub it off your produce.
If it's on there, it's on there and it doesn't go away. The widespread use of glyphosate is so bad now that it's starting to get in organic food, which is devastating. Yes, it's still less, so we need better regulations so everyone can avoid it in organic and non-organic.
Many organic brands get something called glyphosate residue-free certification, which means they test their products to assure their customers that it is free from glyphosate. Glyphosate undoubtedly is linked, if not causes cancer.
Glyphosate resembles the nutrient glycine, so it takes the place of glycine in the body, which is where it starts wreaking havoc in the gut.
Glyphosate shows up on 99% of the conventional US cereals.
In Europe, Roundup has a safer, better formula for you that's a little bit less toxic because it removes certain ingredients. Why don't we get the same formula here in America?
Most people don't know how much glyphosate is actually in their system. And so through a Total Tox burden test and a glyphosate test, I'm able to tell parents and children what the level is actually inside their body. It's in our clothes.
It's in anything that's cotton, and cotton is the single most heavily sprayed crop in the United States.
