At the time that I came to Dr. Eckel, I was seeing a lot of other specialists and wasn't happy with the direction that my pain care was going. What I felt like had happened is that everybody had run out of ideas, and we had arrived to this place where it was now up to me to just have better coping skills. And I started to feel like I.
Was never going to get better and.
That this was going to be my life. And I think in the beginning, Dr. Eckel had more confidence in the healing process than I did. And I was really skeptical about what could happen just because I'd had a lot of closed doors. And, you know, I did have to take it upon myself to do a lot of trying, you know, research and trying to find out my own information about my diagnosis and all these different treatments, and just really desperate for anybody that would help make this better, and it was awful.
So I was really relieved to have the opportunity to do that free consultation appointment in the beginning, so I could hear a little bit about his approach and what it would look like for me to see him for this care.
When I learned that Dr. Eckel specialized in both pain care and that he had experience with motor vehicle accidents and what that process comes with, I felt really relieved and for the first time had some hope about what might actually happen in the future.
And I also really appreciate the flexibility that he had in treating me because I was in a lot of pain and positioning was really difficult for me. I really appreciated that he worked with me to find the right setup, and that's something that's really unique. I don't find. I don't have that experience usually. It's usually not my experience that somebody is willing to take so much time. I always felt like my needs were important and were worth being met.
It's amazing to think that after a year of working with them that I've made such dramatic improvements.
