Big Bold Health CGM Study 2020 - Day 7

Jeffrey Bland tests his HDB shake mix and Himalayan Tartery Buckwheat flour using continuous glucose monitoring. The shake alone raised blood glucose slightly, the flour alone barely moved it, and combining them blunted the shake's glucose spike. The study continues.

Well, welcome once again to our Himalayan Tartery Buckwheat Big Bowl Health Continuous Glucose Monitoring Study. Wow, that's a big title. So, you know, it's really interesting today we all get into this kind of, like, mad scientist view now that we've got this device sitting on our arm, that we can measure all sorts of things as it relates to how we respond, how our blood sugar responds to various events, exercise or stress or diet. So all of us that are part of this study are making our own observations. So I want to share with you today my citizen scientist observation. So, you know, we. We did measure the glucose response to our shake mix, our HDB shake mix. And we also, as you know, measured our glucose response in a previous. Another day, subsequent day to our, what I call super Nutrition Himalayan Tartery Buckwheat flour. And so then I got the interesting question of what would happen if we then put the flour together with the shake mix and we saw what would happen to the blood sugar curve. And, wow, it's quite impressive. So I want to share a little insight here quickly. So here is the results. So let me come up here close. You'll see. So this is on the same day. This is me. So this is in the morning when I first used the shake mix alone. And you'll see I get a very small rise in blood sugar. It's a really low glycemic index. But then I said, what happens if I take the shake mix and I add some flour to it and I try it again? So after it went to baseline, I came back and I tried it a second time, and lo and behold, it actually blunts the blood sugar response of the shake mix. By itself, it has a neutralizing effect. In fact, it hardly has any glycemic rise at all. The glycemic index of this is so low, it's like, wow, it's off charts. So I think we've really discovered something here through our kind of studies that we now have the perfect approach towards metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, the glycemic dysfunctions that occur with this whole concept of metabolic syndrome. So really looking interesting from our CGM studies. So stay in touch. We've got a few more days to go and we're still learning. Thanks so much.
