Jeffrey Bland demonstrates how to apply a Freestyle Libre glucose monitor and explains a 14-day study testing blood sugar responses to Himalayan tartary buckwheat flour, regular flour, and white bread. He shows sensor placement and how to keep the patch secure in the shower.

So, hi, here we go. This is our continuous glucose monitoring study that we're doing within our big, bold health clinical studies group, looking at the glucose response to Himalayan tartery buckwheat flour. And of course, we have to compare it to normal flour and we have to compare it to a standard big white, big white bread. So we're going to have some fun. So I'm going to just show you how we apply the continuous glucose monitoring device, the freestyle Libre device that we're all using for this particular experiment. So, first, we take our alcohol swab and we disinfect the area, which we allow to dry. We then take our freestyle monitor out of the pack here. This is the applicator. We line up the two lines on the applicator, push down, take out. Here we go. Then we put it up here on the appropriate place on our arm, and we push down and there we go. We're now applied and we can then take device to seal it if we care, because we're going to be wearing this for the next 14 days as we do our studies. So that means we have to kind of secure it and also keep it when we're taking shower and stuff like that. So we. Whoops. We put this over, hopefully better than that, and it becomes our security patch. There we go. Now we're ready. So what we'll do is, each day we'll be studying a different response to a different test sample, starting obviously with our Himalayan and our white flour and our white bread. And stay tuned, we're going to do this every day for the next 14 days. Thanks.
