Hi, it's Dr. Nemetoff. And I'm taking a few minutes of your time to congratulate my good friend, Dr. Jeffrey Blank. Functional Medicine has done a wonderful job of creating an event to celebrate this wonderful man's achievements. And the Functional Medicine Lifetime Achievement Award named Linus Pauling is the perfect way to honor my good friend. Let me talk about Jeffrey Bland a minute. And I've had some bland headaches. You know what they are? All information comes pouring out. I'm going to tell you the first time that I ever experienced one of those bland headaches. I was in med school. My in laws, the lamols had dragged me off to a conference just outside of Washington D.C. i believe it was in Virginia. And I'm sitting there and all of a sudden out of nowhere at this conference that was. I thought it was going to be some kind of alternative medicine gathering turned into this scientific expedition into a place I never thought I'd be traveling. And Jeffrey Bland walked me through the biochemistry of the human body. In about 45 minutes. He understood exactly what was going on and how different vitamins and herbs work within our body. And the Institute of Functional Medicine is a reflection of the wonderful ability he's had to bring down to each of levels. They're very complex phenomenon that govern how our bodies respond to the outside world. I cannot tell you, Jeffrey Bland, how much you've influenced me and an entire generation of healers who sought to understand the things you can figure out. And we continue to take notes as we get your tapes weekly to understand what the heck is going on in the world around us.
