Hi fellow Functional Medicine Update users. I'm really excited about this May issue. For the past 10 years, one of my great desires was to ultimately form a connection with Dr. Lee Hood, who is the director and founder of the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle and arguably one of the world's great scientists in the genome revolution. Having been personally responsible for design and inventing the five of the most important machines that are used in sequencing the genes, Dr. Hood in Seattle was very kind and has offered up an opportunity to be interviewed for Functional Medicine Update. And oh, what an interview it was. I think you're going to so enjoy hearing what he has to say and how it interrelates with functional medicine and the rising tide of personalized health care. This is really a time in our age of great change, and Lee has done such an eloquent job of describing it. So you'll feel my excitement as you hear Dr. Hood, and I can hardly wait for you to have the opportunity to enjoy as much as I did. Dr. Hood's comments in the Future of Medicine.
