I'm excited to continue our series entitled Anointed for the Now, and I want to thank each and every one of you for joining me. Listen, right now Before we get started, I want to give you an opportunity to share this video. Help this message go viral because at the end of the day, Honestly, what we really need in the world today— I thank God for the things that are happening and people coming together protesting, but you know, none of that makes any difference. It makes no difference at all if there is no anointing present to literally destroy yokes. What's going to destroy the yoke of racism is the anointing. What's going to destroy the yoke of infirmity and coronavirus is the anointing. And so this is why God compelled me to share this word, anointed for the now. All right, so I want to pray. Hallelujah! And then we're going to jump right into the heart of this. Glory to God! Thank you again for joining us. Please share, please share. Let's pray together. Praise the name of God. Father, in Jesus' name, I am certainly grateful for the opportunity once again to share your word with your people, God. And I I decree and declare, God, that I will decrease that you may increase. Sit Michael Woods down and let the Shekinah glory of God be released on this live stream today. And I pray, God, in the name of Jesus, that you will hide me behind the cross. Allow no flesh— oh God— to be seen. Anoint me again, oh God, and that your people may be delivered, that yokes may be destroyed. And burdens removed. And I thank you for it now. I give you praise and glory for what you're about to do. Your credit is good with me. Hallelujah. So I thank you in advance for what you're getting ready to do. Thank you right now for the light, the illumination, and the intelligence of the Holy Spirit. Have your way, God. In the matchless name of Jesus, we do pray. Amen. And thank God. Hallelujah! I'm glad you're here. Praise God. Remember I told you in the beginning I was teaching this in small portions in tapas? If you ever been to a tapas— some people pronounce it tapas, uh, either way, it is a restaurant where they serve entrees in small portions. So they bring out these small portions of something you may love to eat, like chicken or ribs, but it might have one rib on the plate. Hallelujah. But at the end of the day, uh, you just get enough to wet your beak. And so that's what we're doing with this message. Uh, we started off, we gave you an appetizer, we gave you some soup and salad. So just by way of review, I'm going to share just a little bit of what we've already taught, and then we're going to jump into today's teaching. So first, I share with you in the first message that Jesus He brought his world with him. In other words, when Jesus came to this planet, he came to this planet with the kingdom of God living on the inside of him. What a powerful thing. And he did it for the mere reason to show us that as human beings— because Jesus was God incarnate, so he was God in a human suit, kind of like we have this, we have the same access because we have God in the Holy Spirit inside of our human suit. Hallelujah. So whatever Jesus did, we also have the ability to do. And so Jesus lived the way he lived to prove to us and to show us that if I could raise the dead, if I could heal a leper, if I could walk on water, if I could feed 5,000 with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread— watch this— so could you. Because you have the same kingdom inside of you. As a matter of fact, he confirmed it before he left, and he said a most profound thing. He said, the kingdom of God is within you. And I want to challenge you to understand you have access to it. So we talked about that, uh, we gave you the scripture 1 John 2:27 that shared with you that you actually— through— glory to the name of God— the salvation and the efficacious, vicarious, substitutionary work of Jesus Christ, that through the anointing which you received of him, he abides in you. The kingdom abides in you. The king abides in you. And so you, you got a right and you got access to this thing. So, and we also taught that the world needs the anointing. We share with you so much so that the world needs to know. We did a SWOT analysis— S-W-O-T— strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats. I'm not going to teach it again. You have to go back, listen to part 2 of Anointed for the Now. It's on my timeline, and you'll get the condition of the world. I showed you what the world and what the church looks like and how it's only the anointing that can address the woes of the world right now. So we talked about those things. So now we're piggybacking off the last message. This is part 4. Last message we talked about who qualifies for the anointing. And I simply said to you that you qualify for the anointing. Glory to God. Just touch yourself and say, I qualify for the anointing. I want you to grab that. You qualify for the anointing. And don't let any devil in hell, don't let anything in your past lead you to believe that you do not qualify for the anointing, because you do. You qualify for the anointing. So I want to talk today about what the anointing is, and what we're going to do is look at 5 levels of the anointing before we get out of here today. So just touch yourself and say, I am anointed. And say, the world will know that his anointing rests on me. Come on, touch yourself again. Touch yourself and say, glory to the name of God. Say, I am anointed. Hallelujah. And the world will know that the anointing is on me. Matter of fact, lay your hands on your head and say, I am anointed. For the now. Woo! You're anointed for right now. You are anointed for the now. Hallelujah! So let's get right into this and let's see what the Lord is saying to us today. So what is the anointing? Let's start by sharing What the anointing is not. First of all, the anointing is not noise. Most of the time people will equate noise, a praise break, with the anointing. Let me tell you something, or organ, drums. Listen, I'm the first person to have a praise break. I'm the first person probably to make noise. I'm probably louder than most people would want me to be. But at the end of the day, I guarantee you, when I start yelling, there's an anointing on it. Glory to God! Because I'm not going to do it unless the anointing is upon me and the Holy Spirit leads me to do it. Just because you can make noise doesn't mean you are anointed. Let me say that again. Just because you can make noise does not mean you are anointed. Noise does not equate the anointing. All right, secondly, talent and gifts do not equate the anointing. Listen, we can hear somebody sing and they can sing real well, and we'll say so quickly, oh, she was so anointed. And let me tell you something, 9 times out of 10, it's just good talent. It's just good ability. And I'm gonna show you, after we define the day and the levels of anointing, what happens when the anointing really shows up. But I want to just promise you, all good singing is not anointed. Okay, I personally loved Luther Vandross's singing. He was a good singer. Uh, whoever was writing for Luther was a great writer, great love songs, okay? But Luther was just a good singer. He wasn't anointed. Oh boy, okay, all right, I just made somebody mad. But at the end of the day, he wasn't anointed. He was a great— I just want to show you that all talent does not equate the anointing. I heard somebody say one time that Michael Jackson was anointed. Mm, I beg to differ. Michael Jackson was gifted. Michael Jackson was extremely talented and arguably one of the greatest entertainers to ever live on this earth. But I submit to you this afternoon that Michael Jackson was not anointed, and we're going to see that clearly as I teach today on what the anointing is. Because I want you to be clear, the anointing is not talent. It is not. I am so sorry to inform you today, the anointing is not talent. It is not gifts. Watch this. Everybody prophesying, they know it. Let's go deeper now. I didn't hit the folk in the world. Let's hit the church, because everybody preaching and anointed. Everybody that sings inside of a church is not anointed. Everybody that goes to a Pentecostal holiness church is not anointed. Everybody that attends the charismatic church is not anointed. You know, I've been in ministry full-time for 30 years, and here's what I know. I have traveled the length and breadth of this country. I've been to 4 continents for the cause of the gospel. Now here's what I want you to be clear of, ladies and gentlemen. I have gone into some churches that most people would say there's no anointing in those churches, they're dead, they're dry. But I have gone into some mainline denominational churches— Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian— that had more fire and more real anointing than— hallelujah— some charismatic Pentecostal churches I have been in. Now let that marinate, because it's the truth, ladies and gentlemen. And I want you to be very clear, again, just because you come from a certain section of the body of Christ, it doesn't automatically mean you're anointed. We're going to talk about what the anointing is. The anointing is not titles. The anointing is not tongues. The anointing is not offices. So Michael Woods, what is it? I'm glad you asked. Well, I want to cite two words for the anointing, one in Hebrew, one in Greek. The Old Testament in scripture is originally written in Hebrew, for those of you that don't know that. And I'm not doing this— listen, guys— to show you how smart I am. This is how I teach. I've been teaching like this for 30 years. So I've been studying Greek and Hebrew literally for 30 years. So I want you to understand something. And I started studying it at the influence of one of my mentors, number one. But number two, because as I studied it, I understood that the revelation of the original language in the text brought us closer to the heart of the writer because we get the actual moment and definitive value and the expression, the mood, and the tense that the writer was feeling when they wrote it. Because something was lost in translation into the King James. So it's important to decompose words in its, in its original etymological sense so that we can get a clear understanding of what God is saying. So the first word in Hebrew— so most of the time, matter of fact, 80% of the time, you find the word anointing in the Old Testament, it's going to come from a word mashach. Mashach, M-A-S-H-A-C-H. Now the word mashach in Hebrew, it means number one, to smear upon, to rub in until the object and the object being rubbed, watch this, becomes one. So when you really are receiving an anointing, the anointing of God is rubbed into you, your spirit man, your life, until you become one with the anointing. And watch this, till you become one with God, the anointing. So the anointing again means to rub in until you become one with that that's being rubbed upon. So watch this, it's just like if you're putting a lotion on your body that has a white color to it, glory to God, and you're a dark-skinned person. Listen, you rub until the lotion blends in, goes into you, becomes one with your skin, and you cannot see that color anymore. That's what happens. The anointing interpenetrates your very essence until there's no difference between you and the anointing. So what are we rubbing in? I'm glad you asked. The anointing is the express essence and personality characteristics of God. Wow. So again, when we start talking about anointing, this is why people who have no idea who God is, who have not paid the price for him to smear— because you could be saved, uh-oh, and not be anointed. Yes, you can, if you do not allow yourself to be positioned to allow God to rub himself upon you, smear himself upon you, until you take on his essence. Glory to God. I'm going somewhere. That's mashak in Hebrew. Second word in Greek is shario. Shario. Shario. Now watch this. Shario in Greek means that that which has been smeared upon and placed in Watch this, now flows out. Hear this, hallelujah, flows out and attracts. One connotation of shairo is the anointing flows out and becomes magnetic, which means when the anointing is upon you and is flowing out of your life, it should attract. Hallelujah. Things like a magnet, people to it. It should— people should want to— oh man, oh my God. So the anointing should cause people to want to experience what's upon your life. Watch this. This is why the anointing cannot flow through people who operate in pride and selfishness. You know, very seldom are selfish people anointed. Because most of the time, a selfish person, if they got anointed, they want to keep it all to themselves. They don't want it to flow out. They'll be too afraid they're going to lose it once they feel it. But you know what? The anointing, it, it constantly and consistently comes upon you. And once it's smeared in, it's a permanent part of you. And every time it flows out, it's for the purpose of attracting people to the God in you. Let me tell y'all church folks something, especially you deep and wonderful ones who speak in tongues and prophesy. I mean, listen, I'm not against it. I do it all the time. Been doing it for— I've been speaking in tongues. I got saved, filled with the Holy Ghost 36 years ago. So I've been speaking in tongues that long. But now let me tell you something. You cannot mistake the fact that God just wants you to have good church Prophesy to each other, anoint each other, be attracted to each other. This is why— watch this— this is why people who are anointed and single, they attract all kinds of people to them. And a lot of times people don't even understand, why am I attracted to this person? We're nothing alike. Are you hearing me? Where are these people coming from? Is because they're attracted to the anointing. And they don't even realize it. That's why you can see some people that ain't really too easy on the eyes, okay, with, with someone that is actually drop dead gorgeous or handsome. And then you're like, how did that happen? It's because that person that really wasn't too easy on the eyes, or in your opinion wasn't cute, they were anointed and they attracted someone who was attracted to what was internal instead of what was external. Oh, I'm going somewhere with this. So the anointing should be a magnet. It's not enough— this is what I was about to say— for you to be anointed in church. It's not enough. You got to be anointed everywhere you go so that if God decides for the anointing to come upon you in a public place, hallelujah, if you're in Walmart and he wants the anointing to come upon you in Walmart, you got to be so free to yield that so that people can be magnetically drawn to the God in you. You talk about soul winning made easy when you flow in anointing on a day-to-day basis. Oh my God, oh my God, it begins to draw people into God and they begin to want to experience and encounter what you walking in. Let me move on. Okay, so when you're anointed, you are granted access to the one who anointed— the one that anointed you. You get access to him. And watch this, man can anoint you with oil, but ultimately the anointing comes from God because he's actually again smearing himself upon you. Anointing, being anointed with oil, is a symbol of the connection that God is making through the vessel. But it's still— you have to receive that as you being anointed with God. I want you to take even a new perspective on being anointed with oil. You know, you got so many people get greased down with oil, they greasy, they greasy in their anointing. But in the end of the day, they greasy, greasy. But Nothing really sticks because they just really thought that they was just getting some olive oil rubbed on them. But in the day, you got to receive that thing like you're receiving God and start taking introspective of the God-like characteristics, personalities, essence inside of you so you can release it into the world. Are y'all hearing this? Let the anointing be on everything you do. Let him be on your parenting. Let him be on your business. Let him be while you're at work. Let the anointing be when you're shopping. Let the anointing guide and be at the forefront of everything you decide to do. I got to get out of here, man. I got, I got to go. I got to go. I got to go. So I want to talk about 5 levels of the anointing. And we see these levels of the anointing. I'm going to hit these real quick, man. In Ezekiel 47:1-10, let me read that. Are y'all ready? Ezekiel 47:1-10. Somebody write that on the screen. And if you're just joining us, say hello, put some hearts on the screen, share this out. Glory to God. Somebody needs the anointing. I'm telling you, while I'm teaching, there is an anointing that's oozing from this stream. Glory to God. And as you share it, somebody that needs to be drawn, not to Michael Woods, they are going to be drawn to God. Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus. Listen to this. The Bible says, Ezekiel 47, verses 1 through 10, afterward he brought me again to the door of the house, and behold, the waters issued from under the threshold of the house eastward, for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under the right side of the house at the south side of the altar. Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward and led me about the way without the other gate by the wayward looking eastward. And behold, watch this, there ran out waters, another level, on the right side. And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured 1,000 cubits, and he brought me through the waters. The waters were to the ankles. Here's another level. Here we go. Again, he measured a thousand. He brought me through the waters. The waters were at the knees, another level. And he, and he measured a thousand. He brought me through the waters and the waters were at the loins, another level. Here we go. Afterward, he measured a thousand and it was a river I could not pass over, for the waters were risen. Waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over. God, I feel this. 'And he said unto me, Son of man, thou hast seen this. Then he brought me and caused me to return to the brink of the river. Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river there were very many trees on one side and on the other. Then he said,' are y'all hearing me? 'Then he said unto me, these waters issue out toward the east country and go down into the desert and go into the sea, which being brought forth into the sea The waters being healed. And it shall come to pass that everything that liveth, that moveth, and whithersoever the river shall come. Are y'all hearing me tonight? Glory to God. Shall live, and there shall be a very great multitude of fish. Because these waters shall come thither, for they shall be healed, and everything shall live whether the river cometh. And it shall come to pass that the fishers shall stand upon it, from Engendai to Englaime, they shall be a place to spread forth nets. Their fish shall be according to their kind and as fish of the great sea. Hear this, exceeding many. Now I read that quickly, but I'm gonna break it down now. It's not gonna take me long. Inside of that text, in the first verse, we see level 1. Level 1 was Ezekiel— here Ezekiel was watching the waters in the text flow from the temple of God. And many believers— hear me, guys— don't have the revelation that they are the source of life. Saint John's Gospel 7:38 says, if you believe on me— this is Jesus talking, not me, him— if you believe on me, as the scripture has said, out of your belly shall flow rivers. That's the anointing of living water. See, when the anointing begins to flow out of your life, it brings life to everybody else around you. Oh my God. So, but you got to believe on him as the script— what did the scripture say? I told you in the first message that he brought his kingdom with you. He's the King of Kings, he's the Lord of Lords. If you believe that he is Jesus Christ the Messiah, watch this, the Anointed One. Oh my God, if you believe he's the Anointed One, out of your belly is going to flow rivers of life. That means anything that comes in contact with you, though it is dead, woo, it will live. Glory to God. My God, are y'all here? So that's level 1. It's a watching level. It's a watching so you can see what's around you, so you can see— watch this— to be able to watch at this level, you must be in the realm of the spirit. I posted something last week, I think it was. If your altars are not active, your voice will be weak. If your altars are not active, your voice will be strong. Let me take that deeper. If your altars are not inactive, your sight will be dim. Oh my God, thank you, Holy Spirit. If your altars— which means if you don't spend time on the altar in prayer— your sight will be dim. All you will be able to see is what's going on in the realm of the earth. Lord, I ain't gonna be able to get through this. I ain't gonna get through these 5 levels. I gotta quit, y'all. Y'all gotta come back tomorrow to get— I'm gonna try to get to 2. But listen, we gotta understand that we are the temple of God's Spirit. Ezekiel watched the rivers flow from the temple. This is symbolic of us. We're the temple of the Holy Spirit. We're the temple of the anointing. We're the temple— watch this— of the kingdom. Because Jesus said the kingdom of God is within you. I know this is too much for some people. The religious mind can't process this, but I need you to grab it. The kingdom of God is in every believer. Oh, hallelujah! It's in you, it's in you. Hallelujah! It's in you. Help us, God. It's in you. Thank you, Jesus. Wow. So we gotta watch so we'll know that the life source wants to flow out of us. Watch this, but on the flip side of watching, you got to make sure that you're not— you— that you don't stand on the bank and stay there and be a spectator and never let the anointing flow out of you. Some of us sit back and watch the anointing flow out of others. Thinking that if we don't have a title, thinking— watch this— that if we ain't been saved 30 years, we can't be anointed. The devil is a liar. If you, if you understand it, the day you get saved, you can start walking in the anointing. You just got to choose not to be a watcher. Get off the banks and step in the flow. See, Ezekiel had not got in the water yet. He was just watching. Some of you just watching. Yeah, some of you just watching, and God says, I want you to do more than watch. I want you to step off of the cliff. Listen, I don't know who I'm talking to right now, but I'm prophesying to you. There's somebody that's watching this live or either by replay, and I just heard the Holy Spirit say, your time has come for you to step into what God has called you to do. You have been on the banks watching long enough. I heard the Spirit of the Lord say, step into where I have for you to be. For the Lord said, what I have for you has been searching for you. Lord, have mercy. Oh, this takes me back to a word I heard the other day. Abba told me, he said, son, tell my people, he said, tell them to get into position. Because the things that I promised them is looking for them. And I heard the Lord say, many of you have not received, and you've heard promises, and you got prophetic words over your life. I'm looking at 3 women of God right now who have prophetic utterances over your life. Some of you have prophecies that date back 15, 20 years that you've never seen come to pass. But God said, you got to shake the dust off now and step into the next phase of the anointing so you can receive. Position yourself. Stop being a watcher. Take action so that what God has for you can manifest, saith the Lord. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. I gotta move. I gotta go, y'all. I gotta go. So let's try to get to— let's try to get to level 2. Let's try to get level 2 And we'll pick up 3, 4, possibly 5 tomorrow. Watch this, watch this. Ezekiel, in the next verse, we see it here. In the next verse, he gets off of the stoop, steps into the water. And the Bible says that the water came to his ankles. Now I want to say this to you, and I want you to hear me because some people don't agree with this, but I'mma say it because it's right. The anointing is not created equal. I'll say it again, there are people who are at different levels and different phases in the anointing. Does God have a respect of person? No, has nothing to do with God. Actually, it has something to do with the individual on how they apply themselves in stepping into the level, because at every level of the anointing there's a different action. We saw that in the text. One, there's a measuring. We saw in the text that there was an angel that measured So you got to measure. Some of the measuring come through pain and crushing. There's a price, there's a cost for the anointing. So we go through trials so the anointing can come. And you have to get that metron put on you. And most people won't want to hear this because the metron— even if you are an apostle, even if you are a prophet, an evangelist, a pastor, a teacher, I don't care how anointed you think you are Every person has to go through phases of measuring that comes from someone in authority. And prayerfully, that someone in authority needs to carry an anointing to measure you. You just can't keep promoting yourself and putting titles on you. And at every office you in, there are levels of anointing you can go to in that office. And I'm telling you right now, there's some apostles that are still ankle deep. And most of those apostles that are ankle deep, hear me, is because they refuse to submit to the authority of an apostle that's at another level that can pull them up. Oh my God, have mercy, have mercy, have mercy, Jesus. And they still ankle deep. They in, their feet are wet, their ankles are wet, but it's so much more. And many believers just desire really to stay in this deep shadow experience that the scripture is talking about. Although they're saved, although they're Spirit-filled, they very seldom go beyond the point of carnal existence in God. They constantly operate out of the flesh and out of the carnal mind because the only thing that's wet is their feet and their ankles shallow. And that's part of the problem in the church. We got too many pastors that's ankle deep, can preach with no oil. Oh my God, can teach with no oil, with no anointing, just got their feet wet. Let me tell you how you get your feet wet. You, you watch TBN and you mimic somebody you see on TV, or you follow some popular preacher on YouTube or on Facebook and you mimic what you see them do. And, and you never really spend any time in prayer. You don't accept the crushings of the Lord that come to break you and take you to the next level. You resist the measuring. Oh God, God help us. And so we got too many pastors who operate without the anointing. That's why people show up in their meetings and no yokes are destroyed, no burdens are removed. But I'm here to help you. You got to get out of that shallow water, bro. We got too many evangelists. In fact, we got very few evangelists, and most of them are not anointed because they, they start trying to move in something else because their feet are just wet and they think, okay, well, maybe I'll be a prophet. But listen, if God called you to be an evangelist, baby, be an evangelist. An evangelist is not just a woman preacher neither. There are some great male evangelists, namely one was Billy Graham. Billy Graham was anointed to win souls. Somebody asked me the other day, they said, Dr. Woods, do you feel like Bishop Jakes has Billy Graham's mantle? I said no. I said T.D. Jakes has a mantle all of his own. He's T.D. Jakes, so— but he doesn't have Billy Graham's mantle. Billy Graham was filling up stadiums, baseball stadiums, and winning souls. I've gone to a lot of Bishop Jakes meetings. Not taking nothing away from him, but his anointing as an evangelist to gather people to his ability to preach. And people get— church people mostly get delivered and healed from his preaching. Billy Graham brought men into the kingdom. Totally different anointing, totally different mantle. I'm just saying, man. I'm just saying, I love TD Jakes, I love Billy Graham, but let's not get this twisted. T.D. Jakes does not have Billy Graham's mantle just because he could gather people. But Billy Graham was gathering people in stadiums until the end, until he slowed down and couldn't do it no more. Watch this. And then his legacy, Franklin and his grandson— glory to God— they're still gathering people in large crowds everywhere they go because that mantle is on them. All right, so here we go. And I know Franklin is not his daddy, of course not, and this— and the grandson ain't, ain't his granddaddy. But at the end of the day, I'm just showing you the difference, the diversity. Jakes is Jakes, Graham is Graham. But, but you can't— and what I'm saying is you can't— you got to be you. And I, and I— you could tell Bishop Jakes is comfortable being himself. He's comfortable in what God has created him to do, and he's anointed to do it when he does it. Can't take that from him. See, your greatest fire flows— hear me— when you're operating in your uniqueness. But people who are in shallow water, ankle deep, all they do is mimic folk, huh? And they never really emerge. At the level that God would want them to emerge at under the anointing. See, we need an anointing for the now where people are flowing in such a uniqueness in their area of purpose where we're affecting change everywhere we go, because this world needs help. It needs God. And whatever sector you're in, you need to be anointed, and you don't need to be ankle deep. You need more. Glory to God. Watch this. Ankle, ankle-deep people seldom desire spiritual gifts according to this text. They seldom move in glorious things. They're not hungry for more. They just want to get their feet wet. Okay, that's enough. You ever seen somebody that— hallelujah— is— don't want to get in a swimming pool? I'm just gonna put my toes in. You know, I love swim, I love water, so I'm all in deep water. I mean, I done dived in oceans and off mountains, all kind of crazy stuff. Listen, because I love the water. But at the end of the day, somebody that just wants to get their feet wet, they're never going to do that. I'm telling you right now, saints, you got to dive all the way in. Oh my God, my time is up.
