Confidence Part 7: "Do it Afraid, Part B." | 21 Days of Action with Dr. Mike Woods

Dr. Mike Woods teaches that confidence comes from trusting God, not from fearlessness. He identifies five reasons people resist confidence, traces fear back to pain, and argues that faith and fear cannot coexist. Woods uses biblical passages and personal stories to show how stepping forward with Jesus lets you face failure, rejection, and loss.

Father, we come, we first of all, we repent of our sin, every thought, any deed, any act that may flow through our mind, our spirit, our body. God, have mercy on us. God, let your grace be sufficient for us even in this moment. Father, we trust you with our very life. We trust you with our well-being. Where we walked in fear, where we doubted, where we doubted you, God. In the name of Jesus, have mercy on us and forgive us. So Father, we trust your will, we trust your way, we trust your plan, God. We know, God, that no weapon that is formed against us can prosper, that we are winners. Hallelujah! We're filled with authority, we're filled with power, we're filled with the glory of the Lord. And we just give you praise for what's to come. And we thank you that what's to come is better than what has been. And we give you glory for that now in Jesus' name. Let us experience the light, the illumination, and the intelligence of the Holy Ghost even as we teach today. Uh, Tuesday will be our last day. Glory to the name of God. And I'm, I'm amped. Glory to the in the name of God to again just see the results of what God's going to bring our way because we've trusted him in fasting and prayer. Praise God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So please guys, be a champion, be a champion and share. Um, I'm gonna go ahead and dive into this today, uh, just simply because I want to make sure That everything we need to get out today, we get it out, right? So we're continuing our teaching, glory to the name of God, on Doing It Afraid, or Do It Afraid. And yesterday, you know, we got introduced to a few things. Um, you know, one of the main things we talked about yesterday, just by way of review, was that we are to— listen to this— fear not. And God is very consistent throughout scripture, uh, telling us to fear not. But you know, one of the reasons he doesn't want us to fear, guys, is because faith and fear are inept to each other. You can't even have faith and fear in the same room. So it's impossible to walk by faith and really bring pleasure to God through faith, and you operate in the spirit of fear, it really is a challenge. Glory to the name of God. Because those two, uh, elements— those, as a matter of fact, these are forces. Faith is a force, fear is a force. Um, they both are spiritual forces that enter our life to either propel us forward— watch this— or digress us backwards. And the reality is we don't want to be thrown backwards, and we don't want our progress to be thwarted because we choose not to have faith. So the Bible says, fear not. We learned that, uh, intently yesterday. And, um, you know, we just— we basically talked about how God has already made the arrangements for us, and we went through some scriptures that showed us that the promises for our life is already just really laid out. You know, without you being, uh, deep and wonderful, you know, and just hearing this thunderous voice or still small voice tell you what God has said and planned for you, it's already arranged. Hear me, and spelled out in the word. Listen, what has been planned. And so at the end of the day, ladies and gentlemen, you know, we have no reason to fear. We learned yesterday we just got to go forward hear me, and fear not because he's with us. The plans are already there. And we just even got into how, you know, feelings of fear will arise because we are human. But we got to learn to just do it afraid anyway. Not so— because we learned that fear is to take flight and to run away from it. But even if you have the feeling, you cannot display that feeling by running away, you keep going anyway. And we learn that when we step out in faith and go anyway— somebody shout that, shout, "Go anyway!" Glory to God. Go anyway, no matter how you feel. Glory to the name of God. Overcome that, because there's some things in life that you want to be able to encounter, experience, that you'll only be able to enjoy. And there's some places in your purpose and in the maximization of your potential that will only be realized when you defeat fear. And so we talked about those things yesterday. So today we're gonna jump right into this and we're just gonna kind of get into some things that, you know, again, that we could be afraid of and what the root and the substratum of that is. Glory to the name of God. Good afternoon, Bruce. Glory to God. Welcome, sir. Welcome. Glory to God. Um, but before that, I'm gonna give you, um, I'm gonna give you 5 things I want you to write down. And if you can get them in the comments while I'm going through it, that'll be great. But I want you to get these into your spirit, because when it comes to confidence, glory to God, a lot of people resist the change that comes from confidence. And glory to the name of God, And so I want you to first realize that one reason— write this down— people resist change is because, watch this, they focus on what they have to give up versus what they will gain. So a lot of times people don't want to give up their comfort zone. They want to give— they don't want to give up their right to feel hurt, to be traumatized, to feel pain. Oh my God. So at the end of the day, what ends up happening— people resist the confidence that comes from God that we have innately built in us. We resist the opportunities we have to trust God by faith because it's easier to lean on your own understanding versus lean not to your understanding, because you're familiar with that, right? But a lot of times we need to look at what we will gain if we choose, glory to the name of God, to accept change when it shows up, to accept the confidence to bring the change forth in our life instead of resisting it. Because so many times we're looking at, glory to the name of God, again, what we have to give up. We're focusing on that, you know. I gotta, I gotta stop being, you know, comfortable. I got— you start focusing on the fact that I got to stop trusting in myself because you, you know, you've learned to love you, right? You've learned to adapt to the systems you live by. So at the end of the day, we start feeling like, you know, if I keep trusting this, I'm going to be okay, when in reality, you know, that's just not the truth. Glory to the name of God. Secondly, write this down, write this down. Confidence doesn't come from always being right. Listen to this. But it comes from fear— oh my God— from not fearing to be wrong. Let me say that again. Confidence doesn't come from not always being right. Watch this. It doesn't come from you being right all the time, but it comes from the fact Hallelujah! That you don't fear being wrong. So it's confident when you step out that you're not afraid that you might miss it, that failure might happen. Glory to God! But you step out anyway because you're confident again in God. You're confident in who you're working with. No matter what your flesh is saying, no matter what the culture is saying, no matter what people around you are saying, you do it anyway. Oh God! Hallelujah, hallelujah, glory to God, glory to God. I need you to hear me. Number 3, write this down. There are 2 ways that you and I humans feel confident. You ready? Number 1, we feel confident when we have knowledge, and that's a good thing. So if I got knowledge of God, if I've been educated in the area of my purpose, if I've been influenced That's a great thing. It makes me confident. I know I'm with God. I know I got the mental capacity. I know I'm able, I'm capable, and I'm acceptable to undertake this task. But then secondly, humans feel confident— watch this, here it is— in ignorance. A lot— y'all may not believe it, but most people feel more confident in what they don't know than what they do know. Oh, you become— you be— you, you are confident in what you don't know because at the end of the day you figure, one, if I don't know it, it can't hurt me. It's unknown to me, so I'm not going to even go that way. So I'm just going to stay ignorant right here. Glory to God. Or the stuff that you don't know about yourself, the stuff that you don't know about God. Most people get comfortable in that state, and the reality is that's not the way to go. You, you need to— the Bible said we'll be ever learning and coming into the knowledge of truth. You should be continually learning about God, learning about your life, learning about purpose, learning how to do things effectively. Oh my God, hallelujah, hallelujah, glory to God. We love you, Jesus. We love you, Jesus. Gloria, number 4, write this down. If you don't have confidence, you'll always find a way not to win. Oh boy, I believe that some people are not happy until they lose because they become so accustomed to loss. They become so accustomed accustomed to unhappiness. They become accustomed to mess, you know. And at the end of the day, they just want to be hurt. They want to be disappointed. They want to be broken. But when you got confidence, you're not looking for ways to lose. People who lack confidence are constantly looking for ways to lose, looking for ways to feel pain. And we're going to talk about pain in a moment because, you know, pain becomes the friend of many people. And so they want pain in their life just to feel like they're alive. It's almost like surreal or unreal if you living and you ain't got no pain, you ain't got no real issues, or things are happening but it just don't bother you because you got confidence in God, you got confidence in the future he has planned for you. Glory to God. Lord, we need you today. Glory to God. And number 5, and then we're gonna jump into this. I want to give you these off the top. Listen, it takes confidence. Watch this. It takes confidence to be yourself in a world— watch this— that's constantly trying to make you something else. Listen, that's a great accomplishment. It takes confidence to be yourself in a world that's constantly trying to make you something else. So you gotta be confident in you, confident in who God has made you, confident in his plan for your life, confident in the gifts that he's given you, confident in your purpose, confident in the fact that you have an opportunity to have real relationship with— oh, real relationship with him. The world is constantly trying to mold you into what they want you to be. And it's a great accomplishment to choose— listen, I don't care what you're trying to make me, I'm gonna be who God says I am, because my greatest value is found in his revelation of me. And oftentimes, guess what we do? We're constantly trying to gravitate and recreate ourselves to the mold or to the music or to the tune of somebody else because we feel like if we do that, we can avoid pain. If I change for them, if I become what they want me to be, if I stoop to their level, if I get on ground zero with them, if, if, if I, uh, act out this behavior for them, they will like me, they won't hurt me, and there won't be no pain. The devil is a liar. That's not God's will for you. Oh God, oh my God, listen, that's a great accomplishment because again, as connected as we are today, we're connected to so much. You can pick up your phone and be anywhere and be connected to what anybody is doing from any culture, any lifestyle. All you got to do is stay on your phone 2 minutes You can plug into wherever you want to plug into. And in a world that's constantly trying to mold you into their— that's why everybody wants to be an influencer. And the reality is everybody's not an influencer through social media. Every— everybody's not called to that. I'm just— I'm just sorry. Glory to God, everybody's not. So just because we see everybody doing it, we think that we can do it also. Not necessarily the truth, ladies and gentlemen. And many times again, we do this to avoid pain, because if I'm connected to the status quo— glory to God— that means they're gonna like me, they're gonna accept me. And then you drive your life and your confidence through the acceptance of others. Can I submit to you today You're only setting yourself up for failure. And while you think that's the way to avoid pain, it is the actual highway road that leads to pain— trying to please others when you should be living for the audience of one, the one who owns everything, the one who gave you every gift you have, the one that fearfully and wonderfully made you. His name is Jesus. Glory to God. He's the King of Kings. He's the Lord of Lords. He's the Lily of the Valley. He's the bright morning star. He's the Alpha and Omega. He's the beginning and the end. He's the first and the last. There's nothing he doesn't know. You gotta trust him. So let's jump into this today. Doing it afraid. Doing it afraid. So what really, when it boils down to it, if we could pick one word to describe what we are afraid of, just one word, all right, to describe, glory to God, what we are afraid of, it would be pain. That's why I gave you those PowerPoints on the top before I even taught this. We're going to talk about that throughout these scriptures, but I want you to hear them and get them in your spirit and get them wrote down. Most people are trying to avoid pain, and it's interesting that most of us are strong enough to bear pain. Think about it. Most, most of us are strong enough to keep bearing pain. To keep allowing pain to be repeatedly, um, and repudiated in our life, going over and over again, experience the same thing over and over again. And keep— you know it's going to cause you pain. You know when that person or that thing or you're getting that culture shock, it's going to bring pain. But it's interesting that we're strong enough to keep bearing the pain but too weak to make the break. Oh God, oh God. Oh, you can be strong enough to keep bearing the pain, but too weak to make the break. Oh God, listen, how can you keep taking that but you ain't got enough strength to extrapolate yourself from what's causing you to pay? Because at the end of the day, what I believe— while people don't want pain, most people are pain mongers because it's— they've had so much pain. Again, it seems like life is abnormal when pain is absent. But I want you to understand and get some confidence in the fact, glory to the name of God, that God can alleviate your pain. And that your life in him— here we go— can be painless because he was wounded for your transgressions. Yeah, God, he was bruised for your iniquities. The chastisement of our peace, our peace. He was chastised so we can have peace and not have to live in pain. Was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. Rapha, without pain. Oh my God, say we in God, why we want pain? Again, some— again, some people are not happy until they're unhappy. And it just seems like it's just too right that I'm this happy. This is too right that I got this much peace. It's got to be something wrong. No, it's just God's got your back. Glory to God, you're in the right life. And what you can't do is go out here seeking opportunities to experience pain. Oh my God, today, goodness, glory to God. So let's talk about a few of the things that bring pain, because again, that— if we want to talk about what we're afraid of It's pain. We can sum it up in one word. So let's talk about failure. Most people fear failure because failure brings pain. So because if it's something that it looks like is a task that is too much for them to undertake, they won't step out in it because they feel failure and they don't want to experience the pain that failure will bring. Because the substratum again of everything we're afraid of is pain. Oh boy, we're afraid of pain. Oh, Jesus Christ, my God. Make sure, make sure y'all share this video. There's a lot of people out here that need this because they're pain mongers. Glory to God. And at the end of the day, they don't do things. They're stuck. There's delays in their life because they fear pain. And I just want to help you break that. Glory to God. I want to help you— glory to the name of God— walk away from that today, not tomorrow. I want you to take something from this, uh, live teaching today. I'm teaching live right now at 12:26 PM Eastern Standard Time, uh, on— glory to the name of God— February 16th. I want you to take something away from this live today. That will give you the strength to walk away from pain, give you the strength to make the break from the fear of pain. Oh God, which stops you from getting done what you need to get done. Lord have mercy. Glory to God. All right, let's keep going. What's another route to pain? We fear other humans. We fear mankind. So that's why a lot of people are, you know, they're isolated, they're guarded, you know, they don't interact well with others, you know, they don't get too close and they have walls up, you know, they're like a glass house with people that, you know, they fear that if somebody gets too close, they'll shatter their glass. And again, that's about pain. There are people that have been hurt in the past, glory to God, and they had so much trauma and pain in the past in their life that they're often anticipating to be hurt in a situation that presents no threat of pain because they're still carrying the pain from yesterday. So really, they're walking around in this glass house for fear of being hurt again. And many times they don't fully open up, they don't fully give themselves to the situation they're in, whether it's church hurt, relationship hurt, family hurt. Most of the time we carry that and, and we'll think we're healed because, you know, there's— it has been said that time heals all wounds. I disagree. Time doesn't heal our wounds. God heals our wounds. Deliverance heals our wounds. You, you need an encounter with God to uproot that bitterness, and you need to be deliberate and intentional about getting that uprooted. Just because it happened 30 years ago— listen, very transparent moment again— there's a season. Like I told you, when I was 14 years old, glory to God, My God, today a grown woman had sex with me. That caused trauma in my life, guys. I'll say that again. 14, grown woman, grown woman had sex with a 14-year-old boy who had never had sex before. Listen to, listen to me. I'm just being very transparent with you right now. That created pain, and it caused me— glory to the name of God— to one, not be as committed as I should be in relationships with women that were in my life. And I always covered myself and had guards up. Oh my God, because this happened to me. And it caused trauma. But I had to choose to be very deliberate, very intentional about being delivered, because at the end of the day, I didn't want to live my life in misery and treat, you know, the people that I would fall in love with and marry, and people who I will walk out life with, you know, as a person that had these traumatized issues, you know, from something that happened to me. And you may be saying, well, you were a man, you 14, you enjoyed it. No, I didn't. I wasn't ready for that. And, and all my life I, I started pursuing women who are older than me because of that. I, I had— didn't want to have anything to do with a woman that was my age because of that act. And that, that's crazy, you know. At the end of the day, I had to be intentional. I had to decide, Michael, you got to be free. You're never going to be able to love your children effectively. You're never going to be able to love your family effective and your wife effectively until you are free from this. Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, today. Oh boy, maybe I lost a few of y'all, but it's okay. I'm just trying to tell you that now I don't fear opening my heart up. I don't fear loving. I don't fear trusting because in my life I dealt with it. And I'm just telling you, you got to deal with it. You can't brush it under the rug, sweep it under the rug, and think it's just gonna go away, because it's not. Because that fear is keeping you from receiving the blessing of God. My God, today. My God, today. Okay, how about, how about let's keep moving. How about we fear— this is a good one— losing our reputation. You know, the reputation that we think we may have with people, especially in this day and time. If we built up a reputation, maybe online through social media. So we fear, you know, we'll lose our reputation, our influence, and people won't honor us. So a lot of times we don't even seek to build nothing because, you know, just fear loss, thinking that we'll lose it. Oh my God, oh my God, thank you Jesus. The reality is, man, whatever honor comes to you, it's all to give glory to God anyway. So you should put confidence in the fact that you're gonna do what you do, and if you blow up and get big, great, and don't have any fear of that. And even if that happens and your season changes and you're not as big and as influential as you were before, then hey, glory to God, because everything you're doing is for his glory anyway. All right, glory to God. Oh, okay, let's keep moving again because we don't want pain, because losing our reputation may cause pain for some people. How about we don't— we fear death because death causes pain. We don't want to see people die. You know, I can be very real about that. The older I get I started thinking about the people around me, and I'm like, oh my God, how am I going to deal with this when they leave? This is a reality, you know, they're gonna leave. Glory to the name of God. And I may be the one here when they go. And if they go before me, how am I gonna feel? And immediately my mind is working on pain. I'm— because I'm like, okay, It's not wanting to face the pain that that separation is going to bring. Oh boy. But it's going to happen. You know, we all are going to go through times where we're going to lose people we care about. And the reality is you got to decide that you're going to live in their honor and you're going to defeat the pain And you're gonna keep living life, glory to God, and hold the memories you have of that person dear to your heart and keep living in their honor so that God can get the glory out of your life. You can't jump in the hole with them. That's why you see people at funerals cutting up, they're gonna get in the casket, they're gonna get in the hole, because they don't want the pain. Because so if I— if they dead, I just gonna die too. Listen, and some of them people, if you, if you just let them get in the home and not hold them back, they wouldn't do it. They ain't gonna jump in there. Glory, I promise you, they are not gonna get in that home. But it's a way that they're acting out their pain, and in their mind they're visualizing, if I can just, you know, separate myself from this life too and be where they are I'll be all right, because their confidence is more in pain than it is being able to live on with God. Oh, what is this? Is this too much for y'all today? Oh my God, today. Oh my God, today. Glory to God. Glory to God. God is so good. He's so kind. How about many of us won't commit to things or people because we fear rejection. Oh, I had this bad, man. We, we don't like to be rejected. So because rejection for many of us causes pain because we need acceptance. But here's the key, we've already learned this. We have been accepted by the Beloved. Somebody said, where the scripture today? It's coming. I'm just getting your mind right. I'm gonna put it all in the end. Rejection is direction. Yeah, yeah, yeah. My stomach is growling. Glory to God, 3 o'clock is coming. Praise God. Hallelujah. Wonderful Jesus, wonderful Jesus. Glory to God. Listen to me, rejection is not only direction, but rejection is also protection. Sometimes you get rejected by a thing to protect you from it. And sometimes you get rejected by things to move you in the right direction. And so you can't fight it when you are rejected. Glory to God, glory to God. Yeah, here we go, it's the last one. I'm just trying to take you through some ideas of how we avoid things because we don't want pain. How about missing God? There's some people that won't speak what God says. Some people won't even pray because they fear the pain of God not answering. Oh, it's a lot of people. That sounds simple, but that's real deep. I know people that have met people, and I'm perceiving now in my spirit that there are literally hundreds of thousands of people who will not really spend the time they need with God in proper prayer to build a relationship with him because one, they fear the pain of him not being real. They feel the pain of him not answering what they're talking to him about. So they just say, you know what, why I'm praying anyway? He ain't hear me. He ain't there. He ain't gonna answer my prayers. You ever heard people saying that? He answered everybody prayer, but he don't hear me when I pray. Come on, that's a fear of pain, of being rejected by God. Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy. Oh Jesus, I hope y'all getting this. Go to Philippians 1:29. I— because for y'all that just want me to jump right and jump in the word, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going. My time almost gone too. So Philippians 1:29, let's just deal with this. I pray you're getting something already. I pray you're learning. I pray you're being increased. I pray that God is building you up. Glory to God. Listen to this, Philippians, because we're still talking about what we're afraid of, right? For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ not only to believe on him— listen to this— so we got— it's a privilege, a gift right, that's given to us to believe in Christ. Oh God, we can believe like he believes, we could trust like he believes. That's awesome, right? But also, here we go, to suffer for his sake. So at the end of the day, the word suffer there, let me just give you that, is pascho. We talked about that the other day, right? So it's a plan experience that you undergo to draw you closer to God. So God has some pusko, some planned experiences inside of our route to destiny that qualifies us for destiny. We cannot avoid those, but it's a privilege. Oh my God, we've been granted a privilege to suffer with him so we can be resurrected and maximize our purpose and maximize our destiny. So when God-ordained crisis show up, You hear me? Listen, guys, do not curse your crisis. Oh, don't curse your crisis. Oh, when God-ordained crisis show up, rejoice. It's an opportunity to believe. It's an opportunity to fear not. Don't jump ship. Don't abandon ship. Glory to God, because this is an opportunity to boost your confidence in him. It's an opportunity to see his hand move for you and break you through to what you need to be broke through in. Are y'all with me? Oh my God. Today, today, today, he says this is a privilege. We've been granted a privilege. Listen, can I tell you something? We conquer and gain victory in various areas of our life experience by going through. Not by avoidance. So don't avoid, you know, the plausibility of failure. Don't avoid man. Don't avoid rejection. Do it afraid. Just go through it knowing God is with you, and you're going to begin to conquer those things that held you back because you're exercising your right to go through it. See, the, the paschal deals with this very idea. It's a planned encounter to train you for the other side. The implication is it's not permanent. The God paschal, the God crisis, shows up to train you, to train your faith, to make you better, so that other side you can stand as a conqueror over that thing and you can even teach others how to get through it. Man, I'm dealing with something right now, glory to God, and I'm thankful to God for it, you know, because it's just strange, it's uncanny, it's something that has never happened in, in the last 4 years, glory to God, that I've been building and building in my business. And it's a challenge, it's an obstacle, but it's— God has revealed to me, son, I'm training you for where you're going. I'm training you for billionaire status because if you can't believe me on this level, how can you believe me when you get to billionaire status? How? Because, because it's all me and not you. You got to be able to trust— oh, okay, I'm doing too much. Let me just keep going. Let me just keep going. All right, all right, all right, all right, all right. So watch this. We can actually— watch this— if we don't use pain properly, glory to God, or suffering properly when it shows up, because, because it's inevitable, right? It happens. We don't get to experience what it means to be painless 'Cause when we conquer it, that thing that brought you pain, hear me, hear me, hear me, listen to me for a moment, please. That thing that took you through the pain, once you conquer it and are delivered from it, it has no right to bring you pain ever again. It is illegal for that thing to show up in your life ever again because you have defeated it. If things are repudiated, if things are redundant, redundant, if things are repetitive and they keep showing up, that means you still haven't whipped it. That means you have gotten in bondage through your pain. But the way you get free from the pain— hear me— by facing those things with Jesus on your side and in your life, going Standing up to your pain and say, okay, I'm here with Jesus and we gonna get through this. We're gonna conquer. We're not fleeing. We're not running away. Yes, this happened. Yes, I went, I experienced this. I felt this, but I just showed up with Jesus and we're about, oh, and we're about to go through this. You're not gonna set me back again. You're not gonna ruin my marriage again. You're not gonna ruin my family again. You're not gonna ruin my finances again. I showed up with Jesus. And we're here to win. Oh God, rebasa tababa manse tabaya, brense tabanki ansa tabaya. Next time the devil, glory to the name of God, makes you feel like you are in the middle of a circumstance that's insurmountable and that you can't conquer, you grab back in everything you've got with all the ebullience you can and say, I am here with Jesus and you will not stop me, devil. I'm going to conquer you. See, here we go. See, if we still— listen, if we don't conquer the pain, we'll consistently be going through the doorways of pain. So you show up with Jesus and you never have to go back through that door, and you conquer it, and then you get the confidence. I told you about that high dive yesterday. Once I conquered it, glory to God, I kept diving off the high dive. Now I done went to Jamaica, I done went to the Bahamas and dived off 300 feet, 400 feet mountains into the ocean because I conquered, oh my God, a 50-foot high dive. Oh God, today. Rebaim satama. You gotta stop going through the door. Glory to God, we're here with Jesus. Glory to God, that's right, baby, we are here with Jesus. Glory to the name of God, and we are here to win. We didn't show up by ourselves. Glory to God, we showed up with him. Glory to Jesus. Listen, let me just give you a few things on how to overcome this fear. Let's, let's keep going, let's keep going. Glory to God. Yes, yes, Pastor Jeffrey, uh, pain has a door. Glory to God. And we gotta avoid going through those doors. And you understand this, right, that those doors have two designated purposes. For you to enter and for you to exit. Listen, when you go through that doorway with Jesus, you are exiting, and you are never to go back to the door of that pain once it closes behind you. Oh my God, we give you glory, God. We give you glory. Listen, Go through it with Jesus. Do it afraid, because when he's with you, even when you got that feeling of fear, go through it with power, with love, and a sound mind. Listen, just do it. Just do it. You know, there are things— you know, I, I played in a golf tournament a couple of years ago, uh, which— well, maybe 4 years ago now, 3 years ago now. This is when I first met Stedman Graham. Stedman Graham is Oprah's guy. And, um, so I played in the tournament. I— my company was a gold sponsor for the event. And so, uh, I had the distinct opportunity of riding in the golf cart for 18 holes with Stedman. When I tell you, I had this feeling of fear, strong feeling, okay? But God was with me, and I knew it. I'm sitting next to, for 18 holes, a billionaire. I'm sitting next to one of the greatest financial minds on this earth for 18 holes. And the Holy Spirit said, you're favored right now, so you maximize this moment. Number 1, hit the ball well. Glory to God. Number 2, engage him in intelligent conversation. That he's interested in talking to you again. I obeyed and I did it anyway. Glory to God. I rode in that golf cart 18 holes. I played some of my best golf that day to make sure our team came in second place in the tournament. Glory to God. After the turn, he said, man, Mike, I thank you, man. Well, I ain't never won nothing in golf, he said, but I enjoy watching you hit that ball today. And I got one of his books that he had there. He signed it, and that's exactly what he said. He said, Mike, I enjoyed watching you hit that ball, and I'm looking forward to watching you hit it again. Can I tell you something? That's favor. But if I'd have been afraid, I'd be like, oh no, I, I can't ride with Stedman, and I wouldn't have played my best golf. Listen, you can't— you got to know that God is with you, and no matter who is there Oh, we— glory to God. Listen, your best gifts and talents should emerge. Notice I said should in bold italics, underlined. Should emerge in the presence of extraordinary people. But if you fear humans, your best won't emerge. You'll draw back. Back. You'll go into a corner and be reserved. But when you're around extraordinary people, your best should emerge. Your best should come out. I'm telling you, I played my best golf, and I was nowhere as near as good as I am now. Glory to God. But I played better than I am now that day because my best emerged. I was, I was razor-sharp focused. And watch this, with butterflies in my stomach, with that feeling, I knew who was with me. I'm just trying to give you some real life examples, guys, on how to keep going. Otabansi. In spite of what it looks like. Glory to God. Glory to God. Listen, the difference between a defeated Christian, hear me, yeah, and a victorious Christian. Oh my God, is that one is stopped by fear and the other conquers fear. It's the only difference. When you see somebody operating in victory, it's because they did not allow fear to stop them. They embraced the moment and they did it afraid. They knew God was with them, and no matter how many butterflies they had, they embraced power, love, sound mind. They didn't run away, they didn't give in. Glory to God, they were not stopped by fear. They did it afraid, they did it afraid. They embraced what was available. I got to get out of here, man. Oh my God, I gotta go. My time's about gone. But time go by fast when you having fun. I love teaching these messages. Even if we're not on the fast, I think I'm gonna keep teaching every day at 12. I love this, man. Glory to God. Maybe I just need to turn these 12 noon teachings into a podcast. Glory to God. Teach every day at 12, then drop it on, uh, Spotify, Apple Music, all the podcast, uh, platforms. Glory to God. Y'all let me know what y'all think about that. Glory to God. And, and just keep teaching and teaching and pouring out these life nuggets to people, even sometimes bringing guests on to talk about this, because I think, glory to name of God. We own something here. Glory to God. Thank you, Mia. That means a lot. Glory to God. Hallelujah. Cover from you. Glory to God. Thank you. Thank you, Lord. Because Mia's a, a expert. She educated in this area. Glory to God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Thank you. Glory to God. Thank you. Thank you, Dr. Tam. Glory to God. Thank you, Kiara. Glory to God. Listen, listen, go to Hebrews 10:35-39. Listen, your confidence has great reward. Let me show it to you. Hebrews 10:35-39. Glory to God. Hallelujah. Y'all learning something today. Glory to God. Hallelujah! Thank you, cuz. We give you glory. Ah yeah, my wife put a question mark up because she know that's going to take more of my time to teach every day at 12. I think that's what the question marks are. Glory to God. Hebrews 10, glory to God, verses 35 through 39. Watch this, it says, cast not away That the word cast is abalo, A-B-A-L-O, abalo in Greek, and it means don't throw away, don't fling away like you put it in a gun and shoot it, or a bow and shoot it, or slingshot and throw it. He said don't get rid of your confidence. Watch this, that has great recompense of reward. Oh, I love this. Oh, I love this. Glory to God. Reward, misthap, dabadose, or dosia in Greek. Watch this. It means it has wages. It pays wages. Did you— are you hearing this? Are you hearing this? Being confident pays wages. I'm just going to show you how to overcome it. You, you got to first realize that I ain't gonna be afraid because I got some wages coming. There's an exchange between heaven and earth that exists that responds to confidence. That's why the Bible said don't cast it away because it has great recompense of reward. It will pay wages, it pays dividends. Good God Almighty, Lord have mercy. Verse 36, it said, for you have need of patience, that after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise. Wait a minute, so here's a problem. In confidence, I got to keep my confidence in faith, but I also got to be patient. So let me tell you what patience is. Let's just break it down. Hyponomi, and this, this thing means to be consistent and steadfast. Hyponomia means to be consistent and steadfast, which means I keep doing my purpose. I keep doing the will of God in the face of adversity. I just keep going even when I feel like I'm incapable. In my mind, I know I am capable, able, and acceptable, and I have the confidence because Jesus is with me. So I keep going. I have continuance. Oh, somebody ought to say continuity. Glory to God. So wait a minute, so he says, yeah, so don't get out of a hurry, all right? Move in the timing of the Lord. Glory to God. Hallelujah. And just keep going and patiently wait for him to manifest the promise. Verse 37: For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come and will not tarry. I'm telling you right now, he promised to bring us out. He promised to open the door. He promised to make a way. He promised to come. He promised, glory to God. I'm not just talking about the rapture. I'm talking about showing up in your everyday experience. I'm talking about showing up in your business. Oh God, Hashamanderebe. God, I thank you right now in the name of Jesus for multi-millions of dollars of clients in my business. I thank you for multi-billion dollar of investments in my business. Let me not be selfish. I decree it on you. I decree and declare multi-millions of dollars in revenue, in customers and clients for your business, for your dream, for your business. I decree and declare that billionaire status come to your house. You gotta get the confidence. You gotta keep going. You gotta keep building. You gotta keep dreaming. You got, oh, you gotta keep giving yourself to it. Don't stop, keep going, because I'm telling you right now, he is coming. He's coming, he's coming, he's coming, he's coming. This for somebody that has felt like quitting and throwing in the towel. Don't you quit, don't you give up. The only way you're gonna lose is if you quit and you give into fear. But he is coming. Oh my God, he is coming. Oh, he is coming. Oh, I'm getting too excited here. I feel like running. I'm telling you, I feel like doing a backflip right now because he's coming. He's coming. He's coming. He's coming. He's coming. Why are you sad? Why are you down? Why are you doubting? He is coming. Oh my God. Oh, Shabaya, he's coming. He that— I didn't say it, the Bible said it. He that shall come will come! He that said he shall come will— Will coming? Coming to rescue your family you get some confidence; He's coming to rescue your finances gets him confident... Is coming restore life—to heal pain—and trauma—he's coming, he's coming, glory God! Glory To GOD!!! Hallelujah!! Amen!!!! Praise The Lord!!!!! I feel it right now! Thank You Jesus Christ for saving us all from our sins of ignorance so we can walk Woo, shabaya, romanciante tabaya. Oh God, thank you, thank you, thank you. I can't praise him for nobody else, but I thank you that you're coming. I thank you that my businesses will gross billions in revenue. I thank you that my personal value, oh God, my personal net worth will be beyond a billion. I declare it in the name of Jesus, and I declare it for every Every person that will receive it, I say to you, he that shall come will come in the name of Jesus. Oh God, oh God, he's coming. He's coming. You're just going to thanking him right now. You're just thanking him. You're just thanking him. Glory to the name of God. Remansa tabaya. And you know what I like about this text? It says that he's coming. He that shall come will come. Watch this. And will not delay and will not tarry. Let me tell you something. He's looking— let me come now— for confidence. Who shall I? He's looking for them that will do it afraid. He's looking for them that will have confidence in him in spite of how they feel. In spite of what their bank account says, in spite of what their credit score is. He's looking for confidence. Oh my God, today we give you glory. Amen. See, we give you honor, God. Verse 38. I got to go, I got to go. My time is gone, my time is gone. Verse 38. Glory to God. The Bible says Glory to God. This is the difference, I'm telling you, between a defeated Christian, hallelujah, and a conquering Christian. Watch this. Now the just shall live by faith. Pistuo in Greek, faith, absolute confidence. All this stuff I've been teaching y'all is coming full circle. You better receive it. The just shall live by faith. Live by faith. Not you try it out every now and then, or you try it out when you ain't got no other choice. But faith becomes a lifestyle because you're confident in God, not in yourself, not in what makes you afraid, not in what pain can do to you, not in how pain feels. You're confident in God and you live by total reliance. I'm talking about total reliance. And you can admit it, not to me, but admit it to God and confess it to him and repent. You've been more reliant upon yourself, upon the systems of the world, upon your way of doing things and your way of thinking, and you have not relied on him and the integrity of his word to accomplish and perform and do what you need done on your behalf. Lord, Lord, live, not try it out, live. By faith. Here we go, I'm almost done. Jesus, Jesus, are y'all with me? Glory to God. Say, I'm living by faith. Just say, say, I live by faith. Just get that in your spirit. I live by faith. I don't live by doubt. Say, I live by faith. Say, I live by confidence, reliance. Oh, dependence. Upon God. Yeah, and his word. I'm depending on his word. You should sing an old song in the church. Jesus, we're depending on you. Jesus, I know these old songs. We're depending on you. Oh Jesus, we're depending on you. We're depending on you to see us through. Oh Jesus. Yeah. We're depending on you, Jesus. Oh, we're depending on you. Oh Jesus. We're depending on you. We're depending on you. To see us through. Then the lead would say, and we came to the water, we had no way through, there was no one to help us, didn't know what to do, but Lord, you move the water and we walk right on through. Oh Jesus, we're depending on you. Okay, I was enjoying that too much, but listen, We're depending on the word of God. Glory to God. We're depending on the word of God. Hallelujah, hallelujah. We're trusting him. The Bible says, oh God, oh God, oh God. Y'all still with me? Oh, I love Jesus, man. How about you? Oh God, the just shall live by faith, but if any man draw back— listen to this, see, there's consequences for doubt— any man draw back unto perdition. Wait a minute, my— watch this— any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. God is saying, I'm not pleased with this. I take no pleasure when you draw back. I'm, I'm not happy when you draw back. The last thing we want is for God to not have pleasure in us. We want to delight ourselves in him, he be delighted in us, so we can have the desires of our heart, right? We're depending on him. We need to do it every day, intentionally, on purpose, deliberately, strategically, and watch what he does. Verse 39, and I'm done. But we are not of them who draw back. Okay, somebody just ought to shout, that ain't us! We're people of faith, and we're about to conquer some things. We're about to take some things. Glory to God! We're about to overcome some things. We're about to move in a new level of victory. Oh my God, in every area of our life, we don't draw back to perdition. Yeah, apoleia, which is perdition. I told you what this was— watch this— apoleia deals with destruction, or that which will destroy. So we don't— watch this— draw back to a life of doubt that will destroy the manifested promise in our life. We don't go back to doubting. We live as ones who trust him. Yeah, that ain't us. That ain't us. That's right, Pastor Jeffrey, that ain't us. That ain't us. Glory to God. That's right, Zion, that ain't us. Glory to God. We're about to move. That's right, Dr. Tam, to a new level of victory because we gotta move in faith. But because we are of them that believe to the saving of your soul. Here's the point, and I'm done. My time is gone. If you can believe God, hear me, hear me. Ooh, to save you. First of all, you were not there when he died for you. You just believe him, right? You are not there when he resurrected. You just believe it. You believe it by virtue of faith. It's not by works you're saved, it's by faith you're saved. We believe our soul is saved. We weren't even there. Guess what? You right here, here and now in life, you've gotten saved and built a relationship with God. Glory to God. You ought to believe. You believe he's real enough to keep studying the Bible, keep fasting, keep praying, keep going to church, keep living for him. You ought to believe that he has a promise over your life. And have confidence in it that he wants to manifest. Let's pray, man. I got to go. I pray you got something out of this today. Glory to God. I really and truly— today is December 17th, 2021. Glory to God. I pray you got something. Father, we give you praise and we thank you for this word. We just declare right now in this moment that we do not fear pain, no matter what the source of the pain, whether it be humankind, death, whether it be rejection, whether it be ruining our reputation, no matter whether it be failure. We don't fear pain, and we serve notice on you, pain. We don't fear you. We step to you right now with Jesus by our side, and we step to you in Jesus' name, and we come through your door. Yeah, and we declare pain will never return, and we declare you defeated, and we— you have no right to torment us anymore. Pain, be gone in the name of Jesus. We don't fear it. Even when you show up, we're going to defeat you every time. Glory to God. We, we, we thank you for the privilege, God, to suffer with you, that we can reign with you. And so we face the suffering that you planned, the pakos that you planned to to qualify us, to educate us, to train us for our destiny so we can maximize our future and our potential. So I say today, God, that you are coming and you are with us and you are here right now to bring us through, and we're gonna win. And every word we've taught, we pray it back to you. Glory to God. And we declare that that word is solid and that the angels Angels are being released now to bring that word that we just taught to pass in our life. We say, angels, hearken to the voice of the word. And we declare we are just and we live by faith. We don't draw back to them that are of perdition. We walk by faith and not by sight. And thank you that he that shall come will come and will not tarry. We receive you now, God. To bring us through, to bring us out. In Jesus' name, amen. Oh my God, God bless your hearts, guys. Listen, perhaps you just scrolled right here, or maybe you've been watching me the whole time and you're trying to figure out what's going on, and maybe you're not born again. In this moment, I want to pray with you. I want to help you repent of your sins. If you know that your business is not straight with God, and that if you die today, you will go to hell. Listen, I don't care what the consensus is saying, hell is real. And God has a plan for your life, and he wants to give you an opportunity in this harsh world to lean into him and have confidence in him and be blessed by his will, his way, his plans for your life. If that's you, stay with me, ladies and woman. Glory to God. If that's you, if that's you, if that's you, you want to be born again, I want to pray with you. The Bible simply says, confess with your mouth that you're a sinner and repent of your sins. Then it says to believe in your heart that Jesus died and rose again. Scripture simply declares that you shall be saved. And as you repent of your sins today, Jesus will enter and he will save you. He will deliver you from the snares of the enemy. Glory to God! If that's you and you say, Michael Woods, I want confidence in God, I want to know that God is with me, would you pray with me today? Yes, I will. Say this with me. Say, Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sin. I confess that I am a sinner. I need to be saved. Say, Lord, I believe that you died and rose again, and because of that and my belief, I am saved. Amen and amen. The Bible said heaven rejoices at the coming of one. Listen, if you're with us, and I believe somebody live or by replay today has received Jesus Christ and the free pardon of their sin. Listen, if that was you, you prayed with me, I need you to go to rhodochurch.com/contact, ladies and gentlemen. Glory to God. And I need you to write me. I say, Apostle, I prayed with you today. Would you please send me the next steps? I want to help you. The Bible says in Acts 2:38, it says, repent of your sins every one of you. Repent for the remission of your sin. You just did that. Then it says, be baptized, every one of you, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I want to make sure you get immersed in water. Glory to the name of God. And get baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And then it says, be filled with the Holy Ghost. I want to help you understand the Holy Spirit and be filled with him and build a relationship with him. Write me at the— oh my God, it's down in the comments under Pastor Jasper's name. He just posted it, it's on the screen. Visit rhodochurch.com/contact and let's have that conversation. I want to help you. Glory to the name of God. Ladies and gentlemen, I love you guys to life. Listen, I'm going to challenge you on this Friday of this fast, whether you're live or by replay, to get seed in the ground. Glory to the name of God. Listen, I want you to not take this lightly when I challenge to give. It's not a light thing. And every time God speaks to you about a seed, he has a future on his mind. I'm not going to tell you what to do. I want you to pray about it. Literally, I'm talking to mature people right now that know that when the word of God is communicated to you, this is scripture. The Bible says— Paul said to the Corinthians, if I communicate to you spiritual things, you should communicate to me natural things. While this offering is not for me, it's for the church. I want you to communicate your natural things in response to what you received today. The ways to give are scrolling at the bottom of the screen. You can go to rodderchurch.com/donate, or you can use our Cash App. It's at the bottom of the screen as well. If you're a Zelle user, info@rodderchurch.com is our zèle. But whatever you do, I need you to get seed in the ground. Glory to the name of God. Today, don't delay. You get off of here, get seed in the ground. Do it by faith. Trust God by faith. Glory to God. I promise you, giving pays off. Glory to God. Giving pays off. Father, bless every gift, every giver. Give it back to them a thousand times more. I release it now, and we have confidence in your word that we give and it shall be given to us good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall men give to our bosom. Get seed in the ground. Glory to God. Do it now. Do it now. Just a few announcements and we're going. Glory to God. As you know, we, we pray at 5:00, do 12 noon teaching Monday through Friday, uh, we don't do it on the weekends, but I want to encourage you on Saturday, make sure you get up and pray at 5 and buy you some word to study, to read, to listen to, uh, around noon. Keep the pattern going. And then on Sunday, glory to the name of God, I'm inviting each of you to meet us at Rhoda Church Atlanta. Glory to God for our new service time. There's a flyer I shared on my Facebook page and my Instagram page. Listen, I need you guys to help me share that flyer. Let's invite people out to be with us on this Sunday as we celebrate a new beginning. 12 noon worship service. Listen, now I told you I got rebuked last week, but that word was so good. I was teaching last week. We're gonna do better. We're gonna get it right. Glory to God. I got— I guess I felt like, okay, we used to start at 3 anyway, so let's go all the way through 3. And we did that yesterday. Today, but last week, but my wife rebuked me. So, uh, we're gonna try to work hard to get out of there, uh, but the Holy Ghost, we can't control him, but we're gonna be subject to the prophet. The spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet. Because we starting at 12, they don't need us leaving the church at 4:30. Glory to God. We need to, we need to do what we got to do, worship God, get the word. Glory to the name of God. And receive what he has for us. And I think, you know, it don't take all day to do that, so we're gonna get it done. Glory to God. I love you guys, man. I love you guys so much. Y'all are great people. Amen. Y'all are great people. Um, good to see you, Pastor Molly. Love you, man. Glory to God. Uh, God is so good. So last announcement, we will come— no, this is our last one. So Monday, Tuesday will be our last two days of the fast. Make sure you lock in both days. We believe in God, we're gonna finish strong, and we're gonna see a great aftermath from this fast. Listen, I want to announce to you our cruise, our Dominion at Sea, uh, leadership retreat. My pastor, Marlon, you still here, man? You are certainly, uh, invited to share with us on our leadership retreat. I'd love to see you. Lady Montgomery on this cruise with us. It happens September 2nd and it's going to go through for 5 days and 4 nights aboard the Allure of the Seas. It's going to be amazing. We're going to balance leadership teaching along with fun. We're going to do our sessions on the boat on sea days and early on the days we go to port. We're gonna have a great time, man. I'm looking forward. So, uh, if somebody can put in in the comments, uh, rhodochurch.com/c. All the information about the cruise is there. Please call our travel agent. The deposits are $50 per person, uh, $100 per cabin. The cabins are based on double occupancy. Get you a cruise mate and let's have a great cruise again. We're going to start running an ad about this cruise. We're going to send out information to our text list about this cruise. We're gonna send out letters to our partners about this cruise. And once we do it, and once we announce the special guests that we're gonna have, it's gonna start filling up. And it's probably gonna fill up too with a lot of the special guest people as well. So I need you, our people, to go ahead— those connected to me, those hear my voice now— to go ahead and get registered for Dominion at Sea. It's going to be phenomenal. Phenomenal. I love you guys, man. Y'all be blessed. Hallelujah. Love you too, Lady Zion. Have a smile upon you, uh, is my prayer. Y'all be blessed. Peace.
