Sunday Nights_ Virtual Worship Encounter (6-7-2020)

Senior Pastor Michael Lyris Woods of Rhoda Church preaches that Satan's strategy uses distraction, defamation, and discontent to block believers from their God-given assignments. Woods outlines a four-part framework for divine assignments and emphasizes that Christ's incarnation has already canceled the devil's plans.

Well, praise the Lord and grace and peace be multiplied to you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My name is Mike Woods and welcome to the virtual worship experience of Radah Church. And for those of you that are wondering, the word radah is the Hebrew word for dominion. The very idea and concept of this church is born out of the mind of God to develop to discern and help individuals be deployed into their dominion purpose. Dominion is not Plan B. It's still God's Plan A. So I'm the senior pastor and founder of Rhoda Church, and I'm grateful that you decided to join our worship encounter tonight. Well, we're going to start tonight's service with the reading of the scripture. You know, I don't think we should start anything without the Word of God, so let's lay a foundation for this worship experience in the Word of the living God. Tonight's scripture is going to come from Psalms 27, uh, verses number 1 and 2. And here's what you'll find. The Bible says, the Lord is my light and my salvation.
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advanced against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and they will fall. So far, the scripture tonight— and listen, I just want to encourage you, no matter what you're facing in this world right now, you don't have to be afraid. You don't have to fear. The Lord is your light. The Lord is your rescuer. He is the one that'll be there for you all the time. Listen, we're going to go right into today's service. I'm going to start off today's service tonight with a song from a great friend of our church, Courtney Henderson from Decatur, Alabama. Courtney was visiting with us at Rhoda Church on a Sunday night. And you know, I found it to be a great thing to, to be nostalgic doing these virtual encounters, to go back into some old services. You know, we have so many great services we've had at Rhoda Church. A lot of them have never been streamed live, and so we're going to give you opportunity to experience what we experience at Rhoda Church. So Courtney Henderson, great friend of the church, she's going to minister to us a song entitled My God Is Awesome. And I'm gonna tell you something, he indeed He is an awesome God. So let's go into this song where she was with us on a Sunday night and we pulled some of the worship service out and you're going to be blessed by this. And then I'll be back after this song to share some more with you. Stay right there, don't scroll. Miss Courtney Henderson is going to bless your soul. So get in your living room, get your mind drawn in for worship and let God superimpose himself on you right where you are. Check this out because God indeed is Awesome.
But I just thought it was important for somebody to know the, the covering of God and the goodness of God. And you can sing with me on each song. Please sing with me. Let's sing together to our King. My God is awesome. He can move mountains, keep me in the valley, and hide me from the rain. My God is awesome. He heals me when I'm broken, strength where I'm a bit weak, and Forever he will reign. Do you believe that? My God is awesome. He can move mountains, keep me in the valley, and hide me from the rain. My God is awesome. He heals me when I'm broken. Well, hallelujah! God indeed is awesome. He indeed can move mountains. Listen, church, I'm so grateful for each of you that are connected to Rhoda Church. Number one, and I'm grateful for all of our partners and friends around the world. Thank you for joining us tonight. Please do me a favor and share this. You don't want your friends or your family to miss this word that's going to be preached on this livestream tonight. You want to stay with me. Glory to God. So before we go into the next part of this live encounter, listen, I want to take an opportunity to challenge you to sow. You know, the Bible says, "Whatsoever a man sow, that shall he also reap." We're in the process of getting ready to move in a new building. We're out of church, and we have several— we signed the contract last week. We have several things that we need to do, and we want you to help us and assist us in getting this done. You can plant your seed in 3 different ways at Rodder Church. You can go to our website and you can give at rhodachurch.com/donate. The information should be on the screen. You can sow to the church's Cash App, which is the money sign and Rhoda Church. That also should be on the screen. And if you simply want to use PayPal, you could do that as well. Just simply go to paypal.me/rhodachurch. and you can plant your seed that way. However you decide, you can sow your seed tonight and be a blessing to ministry and help us further the cause of the Gospel. It's preaching time, but before I preach, we got another worship song, and this one is from my very own son. He's an amazing psalmist, he's a recording artist, and God is just doing so many great things with his life. I'm really proud of him. He's currently going into his sophomore year, uh, on a full scholarship at SMU in Dallas. And he thought it not robbery to make sure that he made a worship song for us on today. And he's going to talk to us about bowing down and worshiping the Lord. Let's go into this song, and I want you to get an attitude of worship and worship the Lord with my middle son Benjamin Woods. He's a man of God and he's going to bless your socks off right now. So let's hear this, and then right after Ben finishes, the next voice you will hear will be mine, and we're going to be sharing a word from the Lord entitled Satan's Assignment Has Been Canceled. Here's Ben. God bless you.
Come on, people of God, draw your minds in right now and let God move in the spirit right now in your house, in your living room.
He's worthy to be praised today.
He's worthy to be praised in the midst of everything we're going through. He's still worthy. Hallelujah.
This song says bow down.
Bow down and worship. Worship him, worship him, oh, worship him. Bow down and worship him. Worship Him.
Oh, worship Him.
Come on, draw your minds right now. Bow down and worship Him. Enter in. Water into your presence, God. Oh, into me. Oh, bow down and worship you. Into me. Oh, into Come to me, fire, sweep over you. His awesome presence fills this room. This is holy ground. This is holy ground. So come And bow, bow down. Oh, hey God, we bow before you, Lord. Oh, we bow before you, God. We bow before you. Come on, draw your minds in. Bow down and worship him, worship him. Oh, worship with fire, sweet perfume. Jesus's presence fills this room. This is holy ground. This is holy ground. This is holy ground. This is holy ground. So come Bow down, bow down, bow down, Lord. Oh, we bow before you in your presence, God. We humbly ask you to come in this place like never before. Oh God, move in the atmosphere, move in the atmosphere. Come sup with us, come sup with us, Lord. Hey, bow down, bow down, bow down, bow down, bow down. Oh, we want more of you. We bow before you, Lord. We want to bless you. We want to bless you.
We praise you, Lord. Yes, we do.
Yes, we Bow down, bow down, bow down, bow down, bow down. Oh, we are standing in your presence. We're standing in your presence, Lord. We want more of you. We want more. We want more. We want more. We want more. We want more. More of your power. More of your glory, Lord. Oh! Bow down— bow now, bow down— bow down, bow down— bow down...
Oh! Oh!
Thank you for your presence.
1 John, not Saint John, 1 John. Glory to God. It's right before Revelation. Chapter 3, verse 8.
When you get it, I want you to signify it by saying amen.
Come on, say it again.
Say amen.
Amen. Hallelujah.
Pastor, let's read 1 John chapter 3, verse 8. He that cometh sin is of the devil.
He that committed sin is of the devil. Read.
For the devil sinneth from the beginning.
For the devil sins from the beginning.
Read.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he may—
might destroy the works of the devil.
That he might destroy the works of the devil. Read it one more time, because it's just all right to read the Bible.
Amen.
Glory to God. Read it.
He that committeth sin is of the devil.
Uh-huh.
For the devil sinneth from the beginning.
Yes.
For this For this purpose the Son of God was manifested. Yes, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Amen. I'm gonna just say it one more time just for the record because it's just—
all right, he that committed sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, somebody say, for this purpose, for this purpose was the Son of God manifested. That he might destroy the works of the devil. I want you to do me a favor tonight, and I promise you I'll be long because I promise you I'm hungry. So we're gonna be long. Glory to God. Just look at somebody and say, Satan's assignment in your life, in your life. Has been canceled. Has been canceled. Amen.
Amen.
I need you to find another neighbor, right?
Amen.
And say, hey, did you hear what I said?
Hey, did you hear what I said?
Tell them Satan's assignment— Satan's assignment in your life—
in your life—
has been canceled. Has been canceled. Amen. Find one more person on the other side of the room and holler at them and say, hey! Did you hear what I said? Satan's assignment in your life has been canceled. I better give God some praise in here. Cancelled! Somebody shout cancelled! Cancelled! I want you to be clear of something.
Thank you, God.
Thank you. That Satan is real. Oh yeah, I'm gonna say that again. Satan is real. He's not a figment of our imagination. He's not an ancient Persian guy with horns and a pitchfork in a red suit. He's a real evil entity that wars against the purpose of God. Amen. He wars against you and I's soul because he's clear that he can never have what we have. He's clear that he can never get back to heaven. He's clear that— listen to me— he'll never be able to experience the presence of God in the way that he did before again. So he fights us and our assignment because he wants to keep us disconnected from God. The first thing, man of God, I want to share is, is that the devil—
watch this—
he, he works skillfully to disconnect you and I, even in terms of— watch this—
the church.
All right. Some of the biggest challenges with the devil is in church. Amen. I hate to say it, being a pastor of a church and being an apostle who's been in church all my life, some of the biggest demons we deal with, Pam, is in the church. And it's not the people. It's that people don't realize it's the devil using them. Watch this. One of the greatest preachers, one of the greatest influencers in my early ministry, one of my mentors, is running around here that lost his mind. He says there is no devil. He teaches there is no hell. I might as well call his name.
I just want to do it anyway.
Carlton Pearson is his name, and he's one of my mentors, and he really influenced me a whole lot. But at the end of the day, this man is now propagating that there is no devil, and that the only devil you experience is the one you created in your mind. He says there is no hell. The only hell you'll go to is the one here. But I want you to be clear tonight. I don't care what Carlton says or any other inclusionist. The devil is real. Amen. And watch this, he don't play fair. Amen. He never plays fair. So you might as well decide You're not gonna fool with it because he don't play fair. Now let me tell you what he's really after. Again, I just sound long, I'm almost done. Let me tell you what he's really after. He's really after your assignment. Amen. Amen. He has an assignment to stop your assignment. Now you may say, Michael Woods, what is assignment? Well, I'm glad you asked. Assignment is the problem you were created to solve. Everybody in here tonight was created to solve a problem. I think you touch yourself and say, I was created, I was created to solve a problem. As a matter of fact, I'll venture to say you will be remembered, your legacy will be established in one or two things: the problems you create or the problems you solve. Amen. And you gotta decide tonight whether you're going to be a problem solver or a problem creator. And I have decided, I made up my mind, glory to God, that I want to be remembered for solving problems, not creating problems. And the scripture declares that the idle mind is the devil's workshop. And the moment we become idle— Lord, I feel like preaching, I feel the Holy Ghost here— the moment we become idle about our assignment, glory to God, that's That's when the devil creeps in, and when he creeps in, he starts working. Well, let me show you how he works against your assignment. The first thing he does— are y'all with me? If y'all talk to me, I preach. If you don't say nothing, I'm gonna think you ain't getting it, and I'm gonna stay up here 4 hours. So if you talk to me, I'm gonna go on through this, all right? Just touch yourself again and say, I'm here on assignment. Say, the devil's mad at me. Amen. Because I'm anointed with assignment. I need you to understand something. So when you get idle about what you're created to solve— and let me tell you something, we have to stop trying to solve everybody else's assignment. You should only do— oh my God— what you were created to do, because you're best qualified to solve the problem you created to solve. I need you to help me here. Watch this. Bankers solve money problems. Ain't no need you talking to me about money and you broke. You can't solve my problem. Y'all not talking to me here. Lawyers solve legal problems. If I'm in trouble with the law, you can't tell me how I'm gonna get through this case if you ain't never been to law school. You can't solve My problem. Y'all ain't talking to me here, but that's all right. Doctors solve medical problems. And when then you going to somebody that ain't got no MD trying to talk to them about your medical issue, you going to end up dead. They're not talking to me because they are not qualified to solve your problems. Pastors solve spiritual problems. Apostles solve government problems.
I'm preaching this faster than I want to.
Glory Future prophets solve future problems. I wish I had some help. Evangelists solve soul problems. You gotta discover what problem you were created to solve. Teachers solve education problems. I'll keep going, I'll hit you in a minute. Comedians solve comedy problems. I wish I had some help here. I wish I had somebody that knew they were on this planet to solve a problem. Parents solve parenting problems. Oh, I wish I had some help here. Anybody here understand you're unique, you're authentic, you're vintage? I dare you slap somebody and say, I'm unique. I'm about to get out of here, I promise you. I'm about to get out of here. Listen, listen, you're created authentically to solve a problem, but the enemy's assignment is to stop your assignment. He uses idleness. How does he do that? He— when we get idle, he comes in and he starts working. The first way he works is through distractions. Yeah, somebody say distractions. Thank you, Holy Ghost. Good conference. Now, have anybody— and I might date myself with this, but there was a movie called Fatal Attraction. Anybody remember that movie? All right, glory to God. Well, that chick was crazy, and it gives you a lot of insight before you cheat.
Are y'all here?
Let me tell you something, you might mess around and cheat with the wrong thing. So the thing about it, they burn your dog, your cat, your house, kill your children. Just crazy. It was a fatal attraction. But let me, let me, let me venture to say this tonight. Not only can some attractions be fatal, but some people have fallen into a state of fatal distraction where they're so distracted, all right, all right, that is taking their very life. See, when you get distracted from who you are, your identity, your purpose, the realization of who God created you to be, and create an illusion. Okay, let me stop here. Any identity that you erect that isn't God's view of you is an illusion. It's an illusion. And there's so many people in the body of Christ who are walking under the auspices of illusion. Yes. And they're fatally distracted. The handcuff to the distraction— well, right— because they've fallen in love with the comfort that the distraction brings. All right. Because distraction can be comfortable. Yeah. Because many times distraction is easier than the assignment. Man, I listen— I know this is the 8th church I planted, so we're not new to this. Listen, and then we grew some amazing churches, and I'm thankful for that. I almost got distracted from this assignment because I'm like, God, I'm at home. You know, you said a prophet is without honor in his own country, and we doing everything we can. What do you want to do? He said, I want you to stay focused. All right, I want you to keep doing what I told you to do. Then I had two, not one, two, two churches. One, one of the churches, 12 years ago when the pastor started, I helped him preach the church out. In 12 years, he grew the church to over 1,400 people right now. All right, Pastor took deathly ill, and they come and said, Dr. Wilson, we want you to take over, be the pastor. I said, oh, I can't do it. But after I got the phone, I'm telling you, I had many nights of temptation. Yeah, all right.
Yeah, you know, I need to go take that.
All right. Glory to God. But God says, I need you to stay focused because that would have been a fatal— because that's easy to step into that and take those 1,400 people and take them away. That's a couple of those 50, and I'm still burning church. He said, I need you to be focused.
Yes, yes.
Somebody say focus.
Focus.
The only desire the devil, he has in a battle with you is to break your focus. That's what he's after. He wants to get you off the assignment. He ain't trying to take you to hell. He trying to get you on assignment. Yeah, you go to hell because of sin. Yeah. Are y'all here? Yeah.
Amen.
That's, that's automatic. If you, if you ain't saved by the blood of Jesus, you're going to hell. Yeah. So he's not fighting that battle. He's trying to get you off focus of the assignment because he knows If you get an assignment, you're gonna hurt him. That's right. So he sends distractions. Somebody said distraction. The second thing that happens after he distracts you, he works now to defame you. All right. Oh yeah, he brings defamation. He tries to attack your character. He tries to expose your flaws to people so they won't trust the assignment. See, if you're really called in anointing, you understand this. I was saying, you follow Friday night, I was preaching about David running from Saul. One of Saul's tactics was defamation. If I could get David to believe he's not the king— yeah, y'all not talking to me here— I've won the battle. My God. So he first, before he tried to kill him, he tried to defame him and make him feel like he was less than a man. Enough for the job. But I want to tell you something, if God called you to it, you got everything in you to do the job. I wish I had some help here. Don't let the devil defame you. Every one of us have gone through struggles. Every one of us have made mistakes. Every one of us have come short. But when you repent and get up and dust yourself off, point to the devil and say, you had me that time, but you won't get me again. And you keep moving. And the quickest artillery against defamation is to tell on yourself. See, can't nobody tell nothing to me because I tell on myself all the time. I'mma tell it to you, if you transparent and put your junk out there and say, yeah, I did it, yeah, I made a mistake, yeah, I fell right there, you don't do the Eddie Long and say, I ain't doing it, I'mma throw the first rock. No, you get up and say, yeah, I did it. I called his name again.
God rest his soul.
I said I won't call his name no more because he's gone. I'm sorry. Forgive me, Jesus. But y'all understand what I'm saying. The enemy wants to strip you of influence, so he brings defamation. So the quickest thing to do when you fall is be quick to repent.
Amen.
When you mess up, go to God, repent, that's right, and then become a light for that area. Say, yeah, I had that struggle. Yeah, if you a ho, say, yeah, I was a ho.
That's it. Hallelujah.
All right, all right.
Amen.
I just upset a religious demon. Let me tell you something, amen. A ho is a ho. If you're a lesbian, say, yeah, you mess up, say, hey, I was a lesbian and God delivered me. If you're homosexual, say I'm gay and I need God to free me.
Are y'all here?
Where mess becomes delicious. He comes in the idleness, he distracts, he defames.
Then after that, he gets you—
watch this— discontented. Discontentment means he comes to make you unsatisfied with God. Yes, he starts trying to turn you against God. Yes. And there are so many people who have fallen for this trap. They get distracted, then they get embarrassed through defamation. Yes. And then they said, God, why would you let that happen to me? You must not love me. And they start turning against God. Wow.
Wow.
And then they start feeling like they got a license to do what they want to do because they turned against God.
Wow.
But the worst thing you can do is not be satisfied with God. Paul said, in all things I have— men of God, become content. He said, everything I've learned to be satisfied. Are y'all here? I've learned to accept it when it's good. I've learned to accept it when it's bad. God knows I've I had some seasons in my life that I didn't quite understand why God was letting me go through what I was going through. I wish I had some help here. I had seasons with no money. I had seasons with one pair of shoes and one suit. I had seasons where I had nowhere to live, sleeping in my car. I wish I had some help here, but I learned how to be content in the struggle. I said, God, you got me. I need somebody in this shout loud, you got this. I don't care what it looks like right now, God's got you. I don't care how you feel in your body, God has you. I don't care what you're truly going through, God, he's got you. I dare you shout, God's got me! God's got me! Yes, Lord!
Yes, Lord!
Yes, Lord! So you don't ever want to get discontented, because discontentment leads to Destruction.
Yeah, John 10:10.
The thief come not but for to kill, to steal, and destroy. So after he steals your focus through distraction, steals your confidence through defamation, steals your stability in God through discontentment, he destroys you. Because you can't fight him without God.
Yes, yes.
So the text said— and I'm almost through, I was in a nutshell— the text said, he that committed sin. Yeah, let's start right there so we can explain what sin is. Sin is not just drinking, smoking, hewing, committing adultery. The word sin there is harmisia in Greek. This word harmisia means to come short, to come short of God, to miss the mark, to waver from the plan. All right, all right, watch this. To disobey intent. So God has an intent. So you may not be hoarder, you may not be gay, you may not be a lesbian, you may not smoke weed, or none of the stuff, the big sins they call. Yeah, but if you are not obeying intent— intent is the assignment. It is his intention that you fulfill the assignment, not that you do what you want to do. It's not about just coming to church, it's about leaving this building and conquering something. It ought to be illegal for us to spend time in the presence, the atmosphere that Courtney produced in here, and then we leave and don't conquer something. The intent is dominion. Yeah, it's not having good church. Yeah, it's not shouting and speaking in tongues. The intent of the assignment is what do you do when you leave here?
Yes, yes.
Every assignment has 4 things. Every assignment, number 1, has people. If God gives you assignment, people are connected to it. No matter what it is, whether it's medical, legal, beautician, nail technician, whatever. Some of our Black people need to become nail technicians.
Let me just tell you, the Asians have taken over this.
I mean, they've taken it over. Maybe, maybe your assignment is to start a Black Nails Salon.
Yes, Lord, please.
But anyway, it always services people. But you know what we do in church? We sit in church and we be coveting preaching. Yes, Lord, if God will let me just be an entrepreneur and not preach, I'd have stopped preaching a long time ago. Yes, preaching comes with a lot of stuff. Preaching is funny business. If I could stop and wouldn't get accused of the intent, yes, yes, I will stop. Amen. But because I love God and I understand my assignment, I can't quit. Every assignment has people.
Say people.
People.
Every assignment, number 2, has places.
Places.
Geographical locations. That you got to go to to fulfill the assignment. Your assignment will take you to places you really don't want to go. All right, all right, all right, all right. Your assignment will cause you to detach from people you've been holding on to. Sometimes we can't fulfill the assignment because we're still holding on to something that God's trying to take. And God says, I'm done with you in this place. I need to fulfill your assignment in this place.
Y'all here?
Every assignment has a territory. Every assignment has a region. Yes, that assignment happens because God sees it before you ever even born. Yeah, right. And he puts inside of you the DNA, the equipment for that place. All right, watch it. You could be the best singer in the world. Yeah, but if you're in the wrong place All right, all right. Y'all here? Yeah, because places expose you. Watch this. You'll never reap a harvest in a field if you don't sow in that field. And I'm not talking about money, I'm talking about your gift. You won't reap a harvest in the medical field if you don't sow in the medical field.
Amen.
If we don't plant doctors in medicine, we won't reap a kingdom harvest in harvest.
All right.
And we don't plant bankers in the economic system, we won't reap a harvest in that system.
That's true.
And we don't plant politicians—
amen—
in the political system. Yes, we won't reap a harvest in this system.
Amen. Like you mean it.
Are you here? If we don't plant a tiny in comedy— yes, yes— we won't reap a harvest in comedy, right?
Are y'all here?
So when he's saying people like him in company that's exposed to different places, so through his gift, amen, that's good, people can come to God. Amen. Are y'all listening to me? Every assignment has a place. Some places— I, I just use me. I love my father. My father is a great preacher, but there was a season where I had to detach myself from his ministry. Yes, so that I could get what I needed to take me into the next dimension.
Oh boy, amen.
Pastors, even if they're your daddy, are very emotional. They like to hold on to you.
Yes, y'all here.
Me leaving, there was an estrangement there. In our relationship for some time, but now he celebrates the fact— yes, he does, yes, he does— that I left. Yes, yes, because now I bring back to the table so much. Yes, that not only helps him, yeah, yeah, but it helps everyone connected to him. That's right, that's right. But if I stayed in that place— yeah, sometimes you'll stay in a relationship that you need to get out of. And sometimes in order to get right, yes, you got to get left.
Well, say that again. Say that again.
Sometimes to get right, you gotta get left. Some of y'all crying over somebody that left when God let them break your heart. Yes, he let them hurt you so that you can get the right thing. I always tell this story, and, uh, I don't think she'll get mad, but, um, when I met Felicia, which was 4 and a half years ago, I guess she was married to this guy and she was going through— glory to God. And she came to me to help her to get through what she was doing. As a matter of fact, to help reconcile the marriage. So I'm talking to her, counseling her, and that's all it was. We just was trying to help her. But now that I look back, she had to get left. In order to get right, so she could get right. Say, y'all kids been on 20. See, sometimes the place has to shift, right, so the right blessing can flow. Listen, when you stay somewhere too long—
Yes, Eli—
what?
Study the prophet Elijah. He was sent to the brook When the brook dried up, he packed up. Yeah, you got to learn how to discern when the brook is dry.
Amen.
All right. Oh God, Jesus, because if your assignment is not being cultivated in that place and if it's not bringing fulfillment, the brook is dry. Right. Yes. Oh my— okay, so every assignment has people, places. I stayed on that too long. Every assignment Thirdly, has particulars, specifics. If God tells you to do something, he's going to tell you how.
Amen.
1 Corinthians 14:40. He don't ever leave you in the dark.
Let all things be done decent and in order. We understand order, but decent, studioso in Greek, which literally means he does all things strategically and deliberately with a plan.
Amen.
It's not decent if he don't give you the playing. Why would God say do this and then not tell you how? So when God says to do something, the how-to emerges, Jean, after he tells us how to get it done. He's not gonna leave us scratching our head. And you know how many folks that God told me to do it and don't know what to do? All right, you can question whether God told them. Are y'all here?
Amen.
Fourthly, every assignment has provision. God's for the vision, he's for the assignment. So if God sends you into it, he provides for it. He never leaves you lacking.
Amen.
Amen.
So he says, well, he said, he that committed sin comes short of the assignment. The intent is of the devil because he sins from the beginning. What did the devil do? He came short of his assignment. He was Lucifer, the anointed cherub. Got kicked out of heaven because he wanted to take over. You realize the more you worship God, the more you become like him? Because his job was to worship him, and the more he worshiped him, he became like him to the point that he wanted to be him, and he misappropriated it in arrogance and got kicked out. The devil sins from the beginning. He missed it from the beginning. Anytime you commit sin, you're missing God. Anytime you commit sin, you're disconnecting yourself from God. The Bible says sin separates us from him. I know we don't like to talk about sin in the church, but this is the very place we should speak of it. Amen.
Saying it's real.
If you're, if you're born again, you should practice righteousness. The church today, matter of fact, you go to some of these church growth seminars and they'll tell you, if you want your church to grow, never mention the word hell. Yeah, never mention sin. Yeah, never talk about sex. Yeah, just preach the love and grace of God. My question is, how can I preach the love and grace of God if I don't first identify sin?
All right, all right.
Because the only reason I need love and grace is sin. And maybe we should live in a way where we love him enough where we choose not to sin. That's right, that's right. Okay, you can do it, you just gotta want to. The old mother in the church I grew up in said, the Holy Ghost will keep you if you want to be kept. You gotta want to be kept. And here's the problem right now in this hour, a lot of these people don't even have the gift of the Holy Ghost. Yes, when you get saved, the church is teaching now that the Holy Ghost comes the same time you get saved. Not so. Calvary pardons sin. So I go by Calvary, I get the blood, I get redeemed. But then after I leave Calvary, I gotta go to Pentecost and get power. Yeah, right. All right. I gotta go to Pentecost and get baptized in the Holy Ghost. So watch this. Jesus says, for this purpose, for this purpose, Courtney, she hit it. She said He knew we couldn't handle this, so he became the efficacious, vicarious, substitutionary rock that replaced us. And the Bible said, for this purpose— for this purpose, I'm through— was the Son of God manifested. Oh, say manifested. Manifested. Apple, carrot, donkey, and Greek. It means that he stepped out of invisibility and became visible so that we could experience how he lives. So the manifestation is he comes, he became visible, became a man, God incarnate, so we can experience heavenly things, so that we can fulfill the assignment. So for this purpose he was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. So while the devil is attacking your assignment, Jesus already said, I jumped in here and I'm attacking his assignment. He didn't come so that we could celebrate a guy, a big fat guy, uh, with a red suit and a hat and a white beard. No, he didn't come for that. No, no, no, no. He didn't come for lights and Christmas trees. Even though Christmas is a very festive season, we love Christmas, but at the end of the day, Jesus came to kick the devil's butt, period. He's here, he was born, came into this world to jack the devil up, to destroy his works, to destroy his ability to defame you, his ability to make you discontented, his ability to distract you, to destroy his assignment in your life. That's why I'm telling you tonight, Satan's assignment has been canceled. Yeah, yeah, ain't no need in you having a pity party thinking it's over. And don't you think for one minute that the devil is getting the best of you. I've come to tell you that your big brother Jesus, he has already been manifested to destroy the works of the devil. I want you to understand, I do a lot of traveling in ministry over these last— I'll be 30 years full-time ministry next year, and I've done a lot of traveling. Now, whenever I go to the airport, I have a tendency to look at the board. And when you see these flights, sometimes you see some flights on time. Are y'all here? Some flights have been delayed. If the flight is on time, that means it's there, it's gonna leave when they say it's gonna leave. If the flight has been delayed, something has happened mechanically or meteorologically. Whether flight maybe is delayed and ain't got there yet, but it's still gonna leave. But some flights, you look on the board and it say canceled. That means nothing's going out. All right. And nothing's coming in. I want you to understand something. The very weapons that the enemy have formed against your money, your finances, your health, God told me to tell you tonight, they're cancelled. The very weapons that— and I'm preaching to people tonight, and I'm done— that have gone through some stuff this year. You've had some challenges in 2018. Some days in 2018 you did not know whether you would make it or not. But you're here tonight on the last Sunday in 2018, and in just 7 days you're going to cross over into a brand new year. And I'm telling you, every assignment that the enemy brought against your life, it has been cancelled. I guess somebody shout cancelled! Every assignment against your heart— I'm preaching to people with broken hearts, I'm preaching to people who've been wounded in their spirit, preaching to people with church hurt, people who've been molested in their past, people— I wish I had some help here— who've gone through hell, and they did— they don't even know today how they survived. But I'm trying to talk to a person tonight and let you know that the devil, his day is over in your life by the power of the living God. Maybe I preach to people in this camera, cuz y'all ain't listening. But if you're watching me right now, I want to tell you the devil's assignment in your life has has been canceled. The assignment over your children, the assignment over your career, the assignment over your body. The Bible says no weapon formed against you can prosper. I'm telling you tonight, it will not work.
You're going to win!
Well, praise the name of Jesus. I pray that that word blessed your life. My God. But listen, I want you to touch and agree with me that Satan's power, hallelujah, will be broken on every, hallelujah, every portion of your life, every attack, every diabolical scheme in our world that the enemy has plotted. We're going to pray together now. That the enemy— come on, I want you to stretch your hands towards your phone, your tablet, your television, however you're watching me. If you're in the room with somebody, grab them by the hand and let's touch and agree tonight. I want you to believe God for the miraculous right now. I'm telling you, no weapon formed against you can prosper. You're going to win and you're gonna win big. Glory to God. So Father, in the name of Jesus, I give you praise for the word tonight. I pray that this word has landed on the good ground of every heart, that they may reap it in due season if they faint not. And I decree and declare, God, that they are victorious, God, and your plans will be fulfilled in them, through them, and upon them. And I thank you now, Lord. Iban sa re kalabon ko. I thank you now, God. Hallelujah, that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they're mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. We trust you that you're fighting for us, God. I break spirits of poverty, spirits of sickness, spirits of violence and destruction in the lives of our people. I cover this land in your blood, God. And I decree and declare that the blood that was shed on Calvary is crying out to the nations now, and lives are being protected, lives are being changed. And I decree peace in our land in the mighty name of Jesus. I thank you now that Satan's assignment is canceled in our lives, in Jesus' name. Amen. Man, and thank God. Hallelujah. Well, God bless your hearts. Thank you for joining us tonight. I pray this service has been a blessing to you. I look forward to seeing you again on next week. Remember, The Apostle's Table airs Monday through Friday at 12 noon. Remember, share this word with a friend, and you're always welcome at The Apostle's Table. God bless you.
