All right, God bless everybody. Welcome tonight. I am super excited that we're here, and I know we're gonna have a good time tonight. I want to welcome you to the Apostle's Table. It's always my pleasure to spend time with you. And be able to share just some things that I know the Lord is doing, um, in our world and in our culture. And I think so many times, as I always say, in, in the church, we get so caught up in, in church, man, and we miss so many things that are going on outside of us. But you know what? One of the most important things you could ever do in life— hear me, guys— is show up in the world. And a lot of y'all show up at church, uh, and you show up real good at church, but you don't show up in the world. And this whole thing with the kingdom, with Christianity, it started— watch me— with the world. It started with the world. So, for God so loved the world, not the church. So when we come into the church, we're supposed to be impacting to the world. And so tonight I'm gonna pray, and I'm gonna— I'm not gonna waste time at all. I'm gonna bring my guests on, um, because I want— I want you to talk with him. I want him to share with us, you know. Comment please right now, hit that share button, hit that like button, uh, share it to your story, share it to your feed. Uh, this live is going to be very important, very informative. Tonight we're talking about prophetic success. And, you know, one of the things— the reason we're calling this is because, uh, Double D has been extremely successful in his career, and part of that is because of the hand of God on his life and the prophetic words that have been spoken over him, uh, that have caused him to achieve the things that he has achieved. So we want to talk about that. I'm sure he's going to be real funny for us tonight. So please share this. Um, he's gonna be our special guest. Listen, our special guest at my birthday celebration that's coming up this weekend. So he'll be the special guest at the dinner on Saturday night. Listen, you want to make sure that you're at the dinner because I'm telling you, you don't want to miss. And we'll tell you a little bit more about that later, but without Without further ado, I want to bring in this awesome man, this awesome comedian. He's a father. He loves people. He loves to have fun. He's a national touring comic. He, you know, he's being approached to do documentaries, to do movies. One of his claims to fame right now is he's an opener for the world-famous Lavelle Crawford, who is a very funny man. So, you know, Lavelle would not have him on tour if he wasn't funny too. So, and I know firsthand, he's been to our church before. I've seen him perform live in clubs and he never fails. Matter of fact, my production company is producing a documentary for the oldest African-American country, uh, comedy club— excuse me, not country club, comedy club in the country, which is Uptown Comedy Corner right here in Atlanta. And Double D is a part of it. As a matter of fact, that was one of the last times I saw him when we were on set filming. So without further ado, I'm gonna bring him on. D, welcome, man. God bless you. So glad you're here with us tonight. So tell us what's going on, man. How you doing? I, I just found out today something I didn't know.
So what happened now?
You told— what happened? No, you told— you told me you were turning 50, man. Yeah, I had no idea you, you was just 4 years younger than me. I'm, I'm doing something totally wrong because I didn't look that good when I was 50, man.
Man, you get out here. Hey, he just being humble, y'all. He being humble. Look, look, Apostle Woods, Dr. Woods, all of the above, the extraordinary Great man, another great man of God. Don't let him fool you, he still look young too for his age. 54 is season, that young.
It's easy, you see all this stuff here.
See, see, the key is two words— no, three words: Just For Men. Got to dye your beard, man. That's why I look like I'm still young. Just For Men, that Beijing never fail. Every time, every time that Never failed, you know what I'm saying? I'm really 75 in dog years. I just use a lot of Beijing, you know what I'm saying? Hey man, glad to be here. I'm glad you, sir, I'm glad you brought me on, on this platform. I'm glad to be a part of whatever you doing because I know when you doing it, it's always first class. And I'm not just talking just to be talking. Because you know I'm for real when I put my glasses on. So yes sir, I can't, I can't see nothing first of all. But, uh, to be— I've been doing it for a long time, and 25 years to be exact this year. 25 years I've been doing comedy. And when I performed at your church, I'll never forget it. Shout out to Tiny. I miss— I love Tiny, man.
Yeah, we love Tiny, man.
Still praying for him, um, and, and he brought me to you. He brought me to you. So really appreciate him. When I perform at your, your church— in some churches you can go to and everybody not holding them down, act like they better. We all got sins. I love the churches that's real and authentic, genuine, that really embraces you. Jesus walked among sinners. He hung around thieves and murderers and killers. And so I like when churches embrace people to come in and let them be them, have fun. And I always been a type of comic that was diverse. I ain't never been the type of comic that couldn't do any crowd because like you said, God been with me for a long time. I'm diverse. I know how to go and do churches and do secular events as well because I don't— I'm not a bad person. I'm not a bad-spirited person. I got good energy and good spirit. So it's gonna move the room anyway. It's gonna shift it however I want it because God's already in me because I just love people and I love performing. I love performing. You know, every time I perform, I go out and get my Beijing and my— I go to Dollar Tree and get about 5 pairs of these, 3-point, 3-point, what, a 375? What it is? The medicine, what it is? 2.75, you know what I'm saying? You can go in Dollar Tree and get 10 glasses for $10. I've been performing 25 years. Uh, I've opened up, um, from, uh, John Witherspoon was the first person took me on tour.
I love it.
John Witherspoon, after the show, he was getting— he was taking pictures and charging $5 for, for the, you know, for the fans to take pictures with him on a Polaroid camera. But he was making a killing. But after each show, he would give me $250 for assisting him, helping him.
Yeah, wow.
And when he passed away, um, probably 2 weeks before he passed, I called him and I just go to LA. If I had nowhere to stay, I can stay at John Witherspoon's house. He give me his keys. A lot of people don't know this. He give me his keys. Go ahead and do what you want to do. You know, you know how he talk. You know, he just— that's all we— but that's what we been. And yes, he got older. Pastor, I can tell that it was getting— no, dementia was— no, dementia was kicking in. He around 78, 79, and he'll be on the phone with me probably about 10 minutes for you to recognize me, recognize who I was. I was like, John, it's Double D. How I supposed to know who it is, man? I'm 80 years old. He said, get on me. But he taught me, he taught me a lot. He took me on the road with him for 2 years. Then I went on the road with Katt Williams. It was me and Katt Williams. We was— me and Katt Williams did 10, 10 dates. I was the first person. It was a 2-man tour, me and Katt Williams. 2-man. It was a 2-man tour, me and him. And we still good friends to the day. You know, my mama house burned down, he one of the first people that called me. And chick though. Um, Double D, I'm, I'm sorry for your loss. I just want to let you know, sir, I'll be sending you something in your, um, in your Cash App, uh, momentarily. And I just want to make sure everything will be okay. I said, I got you, kid. I love it.
So Double D, let me ask you this, man. Um, so a lot of people don't know that you are actually— you're married, you're a father, and you're extremely busy. So tell me, and I think it'll help some people tonight, tell us how you balance, uh, having two beautiful daughters, having a wife, and being on the road doing what you do, and, and, and be successful at it, because you've been married a long time.
Yeah.
So talk to us about how that works for you and how you show up as a husband and a father in addition to being a comedian.
First of all, and God—
yes, sir—
pray. I pray there all day. If God wasn't in my marriage and my kids' life, I won't be successful. It's just period. God sent me a wife that understand because you gotta have your real— gotta be supporters. They gotta— your wife is the biggest part of the success. If they believe in you and got your back, you will go far, very far. Because she understood, because she used to be an actress and model. She actually, you know, been, you know, acting for a long time, but she got out of it and started teaching. And she started— now she a licensed esthetician. But she believed in me. She had my back. She got my back now. And I was able— because when your house ain't right, your mind ain't right.
That's right.
I don't care how, how you hard you are, how bad you think, how smart you think, how successful— if your home ain't in order, that's the truth. You can't function. Your mind not there. And that's how I'm able to balance my career with my kids, my wife, because she understands the assignment. It's us, you know, it's a team effort. I'm always gone because she knew when I'm gone, she know I'm handling my business. I'm trying to get up to the next level. God called me to do this. So I play with my kids even when I'm out of town. I FaceTime them. I pray with them, I joke with them, I call my wife, we have fun. Sometimes I take my wife on the road with me, sometimes I take my kids with me. So you got— I, I balance it out that way because my wife understands. She's not nagging, why you always on the road, why you always got to do this, you always on the road, your phone always ringing. Because she understands, it makes it a lot easier on me. You know, because of— she knocked down my back asking me why I'm always gone. She always got my back. She understand that we are praying family.
Yes, sir.
If I didn't pray all the time, Dr. Woods, I won't be in the position— I won't be able to balance everything because it'd be too much to bear, because it'll be weighing on her. With, you know, with all the stress from me going all the time. Because think about when I was on the road with Lavelle, I was gone at least 3, 6, 9, 12, at least 12 days, 15 days out of a month.
Yes, sir.
Because I was gone for 5 years while they was little kids and held it down. She held the house down and I, I went out and, you know, did what I had to do. But that's bad. I was able to balance out because of those things to kind of sum it up, to kind of, you know, you know.
That's good. So you mentioned Lavelle. Let me ask you this, um, because, man, you are— I mean, like, the last time I heard you, I laughed so hard. I mean, I'm, I'm— I cried. You're super funny.
Thank you.
Uh, Lavelle It's super funny.
Thank you.
So just talk to us a little bit about how that looks, you opening for Lavelle, you hanging out with him. I'm sure that never was a dull moment when you and this man is together. Just, just give us a typical day with Double D and Lavelle Crawford.
Double D and Lavelle Crawford. Uh, how I got in contact with Lavelle, how I got on the road with Lavelle was his old manager, John. He, he, um, told Lavelle about me, man, you need to let this young— because another comedian was on the road opening up for Lavelle at first, uh, Tim Murray and Spike Davis. So, and I got— he was in Atlanta, I opened up for him. I got a chance to open up for him in 2017, 2016. And I worked with him for always. 2021, not 2020, 5 years. But when we was on the road, we share the same characteristic, you know. We, you know, we God-fearing men. We love the Lord. Lavelle love Jesus, I love Jesus. I love his wife, I love my wife. We love fishing. He look— we both love fishing. We always competing. He think he can outfish me. Lavelle, I, I— you can't outfish I'm from the country. I catch fish with my bare hand, man. I don't need no rod. I've been catching fish since I was 10. Oh, every time we go on the road, we compete on who's gonna catch the most fish. We out fishing the whole day. Showtime at 8 o'clock, we still fishing at 6 o'clock. We still fishing. Go in the club and I'm in the club with a fish in your back pocket. We forget the fish is on there. We, we, we, we just be— me and him always, always laughing and joking. He think he can, he think he can joke on me because Lavell a good joker, he a good roaster. So we always roast each other in a friendly way. But me being on the road with Lavell, sometimes if he running late, technically I'm an open-up feature, but I'm technically on the headline. But yes, so I'm really a headliner. I can do 2, 3 hours on stage. That's— it's easy. But trust me, but the bell, if you're in LA, I do it. I have to do an hour sometimes, sometimes an hour and a half until you get there, you know.
Wow.
Even when we're doing 2 hours, we're doing venues, 3,000 seaters. 2-man show. It's just a 2-man show, me and Lavelle. I go up and do an hour, bring him on stage, he do 2 hours. I know Lavelle, one of the underrated comics, and I'm gonna say this, he inspired me so much. Lavelle got probably 25, 30 hours worth of material. We did Houston's comedy club, National Funny Club, uh, Comedy Club Houston, Texas. We had 11 shows. In 3 days. 11 different sets. He didn't repeat one joke. Wow. Not 45— hour to hour and a half each show with no repeated material. I'm like, I went to the hotel and threw my joke book away. I was like, man, what, what I'm doing wrong? And get— you know what's so crazy? I never seen Lavelle write down anything. I never seen Lavelle with a piece of paper. He's computer. Good God, he never write down anything. He like, he's like an Eminem, he like a Jay-Z, uh, Lil Wayne or somebody. He, uh, it's just crazy how somebody with that type of memory to photograph a memory, never seen a piece of paper.
I love it. That's awesome.
He made me better watching him. Sometimes I bring him on stage and sometimes you catch yourself being a fan, but you have to be a student of the game if you're gonna be a great comedian. You gotta learn from the greats. That's true. So I studied, studied and watched him. So, but the balance, us having fun, we roasting each other, we fishing, we love the Lord. It, it, it was beautiful, man. I miss them days on the road. I actually talked to him yesterday.
Oh, that's awesome. That's awesome. Well, so I'm, I'm super excited about you coming out to be with us, man. Um, when we, when we booked you, I was glad you had the date open. Uh, you, you were so big, you kept telling me all these people asking me, Pastor, so yeah, I'm going to get you locked in.
Yeah.
And excited you're coming. So it's, it's some people on, you know, we on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter. We, we streaming in about 3, 4 places. Okay, tell the audience tonight, a lot of people on here got tickets, but the ones that don't, you know, tell them why they need to come out and see you.
What they come out— if y'all ain't already heard, you seen what been going on the whole time we've been on here. Somebody get some tickets. And I look like— and I look like Idris Elba.
That's right.
They call me Baby Idris. You know, they call me Baby Andrew. Get them tickets. You gonna see a funny comic, naturally funny comic that gonna make you laugh. It ain't got to be up there doing, uh, vulgarity and none of that. I'mma be funny and y'all gonna enjoy me because I was a bird in the coat factory and got the hat yesterday. So it was way Over there, it was over by the candy, but I found it. It was on the candy aisle.
You know they sell everything in Burlington Coat Factory.
What? What? I bought, man, I bought a baby shark out of there one time. What happened, P?
Are we, are we still here?
Okay, I don't know what happened, man.
I'm sitting here talking and the screen just went black. I don't know what happened.
Get behind me, devil.
That's what it is. But man, that's crazy. But yeah, I have to keep my wife out of— she love— because she just loved going any store that sell everything and buy everything she see.
They said hat to a car. You can— I, I, I bought a Toyota Camry on aisle 9 one time on, on— you might— I bought a Toyota Camry out of there.
Oh boy, that's funny. That is too funny. Y'all get them tickets.
Tell them where to get the tickets at. Tell them where to get the tickets.
If you're watching right now, the, the link is scrolling on the bottom of the screen. Just go to tinyurl.com/apostle54. And here's the thing, I, I've got all kind of favor with the restaurant, so they, they— we were supposed to close the sales Monday. I called Monday, they gave me till today. So we've still got room to sell some more tickets between now and tomorrow. So if you do not have your ticket, we have to finalize our count tomorrow. So the website is scrolling at the bottom of the screen. Get your tickets tonight.
It's—
listen, you don't miss this man. He, he's super funny. And make sure you bring me some of that stuff you putting on your beard.
Let me tell you something, you know, hey, I, I keep my wife mad at me now because Shit, I gonna mess up— I will mess a pillowcase up. I'm gonna tell you that now. They call me— I'm gonna call me the pillowcase killer.
You spraying this stuff before you go to bed?
Oh yeah, I, I see. At first I was a rookie, I was spraying before I go to bed, you know, but I spray it in the morning when I get up, but it's so strong when I go to bed, it's still— as I take a shower, it still be on there. And my wife said Man, you mess up one more pillowcase, I know something. These pillows cost money. I wake up— I woke up the other day, my whole head was on the pillow. I left a whole head on the pillow, a whole face, the beard and everything on the pillow. I like, man, my wife gonna kill me. I told her, stop, baby, stop buying black pillowcases. You gotta be smart.
Yeah, since you got a stock over there, bring me— just grab me a bottle out your inventory and bring it to me so I can, so I can look as young as you, man.
You're looking good, man. I'm gonna tell you something else. It's, hey, it's called being an old man with young kids. That's what that's called. I tell you, chasing them all day. You got— you don't need no gym membership when you got an 8-year-old and 10-year-old. You got— you don't need no personal trainer. Only thing you gotta do is chase them up and down the stairs all day around the house. You'll burn 10,000 calories just like that. Yes, sir.
Oh boy, that's so fun. Yeah, because kids keep you going. So what's your daughter's name, D? What's their names?
Uh, London and Isabelle.
So Isabelle is the baby, isn't she?
Yeah, that's the baby, that's the 8-year-old. In London. And when I tell you, man, Pastor, they so funny, Pastor. Look, D— D— Dollar Woods, I'mma tell you some story that'll make you laugh. My wife own a spa. Yeah, she a licensed esthetician. And, uh, Spa London Bella. Spa London Bella. I know Snapfing on them Pinola. She be gone a lot, so I got the kids a lot. I've been having the kids for the last 2, 3 years, so it like I'm— it like I'm a, um, a baby mama and a baby daddy. I got kids all the time, so— and I love it though. I won't change for the world. So I'm old, I'm about to be 50. Auntie, Isabella was 6, London was 8. Get what they did to me. I was so tired. I dozed off about 15 minutes, I was sleeping, and my wife was at work. I wakes up because they got mad at me because they asked me for some ice cream before I went to bed. I told them, no, no, you can't keep eating sweet all day. How about I wake up, they done painted all my fingernails and about to post it on Instagram. I said, man, I just in time. Get what they did. My wife calling me going off. Get what they did. They took a picture of me while I was asleep and sent it to my wife. My mama did what daddy be doing when he be keeping us. I'm knocked out too, man. They took a picture of me and sent it to my wife on my phone. All this is true. All this is true. All day long, payment Fingernails. Y'all should have painted my toenail. If you see on my feet, look, should have painted my toenail. That is so funny.
So, all right, so you got 8-year-old. How old is the oldest girl?
Uh, 10.
Okay, so she got a few years. So how you gonna handle when she gets 16, start dating, and she—
and these guys want to talk to her? I, I thought my daughter, they're gonna be single today, 35 years old. I'm gonna tell you that now. If not, I tell you what, they can go on a date. You better believe I'm gonna be in the back seat with them. I'm gonna be in the back seat while they're in the front seat.
That's too funny.
And I'm gonna be in the movie. I'm gonna say, where in the back of the movie? Why did the movie— I'm in the back. A fake mustache, fake glasses. I'm gonna be in the back. Got me a fake, a fake hairpiece. I'm gonna be in the back. They gonna know who I am. I'm gonna watch them every— I'm gonna watch them every minute. I can't wait.
Too funny. So, so, man, look, I ain't gonna hold you no longer. Listen, you guys, you, you've heard it firsthand. I just wanted to bring him on and let y'all meet him as a person. He's a great man. Share this video. Listen, the way to see him live, up close, and in person— he's got several things coming up, you know. He's about to do some Netflix things. Uh, I'm trying to— I, I approached him to produce a, uh, stand-up for him for Netflix. Oh, we're gonna do something.
He's gonna be a whole— y'all, oh no, oh no, no. Oh, you know what, we're gonna do something. We gonna do a lot together. They gonna be bigger than— it's gonna be bigger than what— trust me, we're gonna be— I seen your work, I seen your work, I know what you can do.
I appreciate it, D. I appreciate it. Listen, get out to the Blue Ridge Grill this Saturday night at 6 o'clock PM. My man D'Gario Double D Turner is gonna be in the house. Listen, I promise you He gonna make you laugh so hard. I hope we gonna try to serve dinner before he come up, but I don't know if that's gonna be a good idea because you can serve before I have it.
It don't matter.
No, I'm just saying they gonna laugh so hard I wanted to stay down.
Pastor, you look great, man. How long they've been on the center? Oh, I'm gonna call you. Doctor, you know, I'm—
so this is why I call— and yeah, I'm glad you brought it up. So this is why I call this Prophetic Success, this interview tonight. I like to show people how prophecy comes to pass. So I remember that night you was at the service and the Lord actually gave me a word for you, and I prophesied to you that some major doors were going to open for you and you would be touring around this country. And you just talked about and that you'll be touring with, uh, nationally known comedians who have big names. And you just told about John Witherspoon and Lavelle Crawford, and shortly after that meeting, those doors start opening for you.
You're right.
And I remember that was back in 2015, 2014, 2015. Yeah, yeah. Yes, sir. So I just want people to see, you know, if you receive what the Lord says to you and go out and work hard, no matter what the enemy throws at you, you can be successful just like Double D. So I, I want you guys to come out and meet him and share with us. This is going to be a phenomenal night. I'm celebrating 54 years of life, 34 years of full-time ministry, uh, so we're just gonna have a good time this weekend. Uh, matter of fact, Come to church Friday night. Uh, Prophetess Francine Riley will be in the house, get you a word from the Lord. Sunday, my spiritual son Apostle Brandon Cornelius will be in the house from Madison, Mississippi. We're gonna have a good time all weekend, but get those tickets. tinyurl.com/apostle54. We out of here tonight. Hey D, love you, man.

Them young, the young babysitters, they, they say they can call you a day of and cancel on you. I got you, you know what I'm saying?
