The Apostles Table | The God of Plenty, Part 8: The Covenant Wealth, Pt 2 | Dr Mike Woods

In this sermon, Dr. Michael Lyris Woods Sr. (Mike Woods) presents a teaching titled “The God of Plenty, Part 8: The Covenant Wealth, Pt 2.” He begins by welcoming listeners to the Apostle’s Table ministry and praying for God’s provision. The core message is that God is a “God of plenty” who desires to share His abundant resources with believers. Woods explains that the biblical concept of a “covenant of wealth” requires believers to honor God with their possessions, especially by giving the first fruits of any increase (tithing). He cites numerous scriptures—Proverbs 3:9‑10, Deuteronomy 28, Psalm 23, Psalm 37:25, Psalm 35:27, Psalm 68:19, Ecclesiastes 5:19, among others—to argue that faithful, obedient giving unlocks divine blessings that will “overtake” and “fill the barns” of the righteous. He likens believers to sheep who must follow the Good Shepherd, emphasizing obedience as the key to receiving material and spiritual prosperity. The sermon also includes a prayer for alignment with the shepherd‑sheep covenant, a call for repentance and salvation, and a direct invitation for listeners to give financially to the ministry, presenting giving as seed that will be multiplied by God. The overall tone is persuasive, urgent, and enthusiastic, aiming to motivate listeners to trust God’s promises, practice faithful tithing, and support the ministry.

The Apostle's Table is a part of the worldwide outreach ministry of Dr. Michael Lyris Woods Sr. You will encounter supernatural wisdom and revelation that will help you discern God's purpose for your life, develop your potential, and deploy your gifts effectively into the earth. We decree your life will never be the same again. Thanks for joining us And welcome to the Apostle's Table. Well, grace and peace be multiplied to you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Welcome to the Apostle's Table. So glad you're here today. For those of you who are uninitiated, my name is Mike Woods, and I am just a guy that loves Jesus, and moreover, I love to serve him. And that's why I do this, amen, so that I could serve him and help you in whatever way He would have me facilitate help to where you are in your life. I want to pray, and then we're going to jump right into today's message. I'm so glad you're here. I really don't want to waste your time. I want you to get exactly what you came for. Listen, if you're just joining us, please share and make sure that this word gets out to someone else. All right, let's pray. Father, in Jesus' name, we thank you and we praise you. We magnify you for your goodness, your mercy, your grace. We thank you for your kindness, your favor. Beside you, there is no other. It's in you we live, move, and have our very being. You're our strength, you're our help, God. You're the supplier of every need we have. We don't lack a thing, neither do we have a care, because we're in you. And we recognize, even according to your word, that you are the God of plenty. You're plenteous in goods, you're plenteous in resources. And it is your will to share all that you are and all that you have with us, your children. So God, we position ourselves and open ourselves up to receive what you have for us. And it is in the matchless name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen. And thanks be to God. Well, hallelujah. And again, yes, welcome to the Apostle's Table. Uh, we're going to continue our teaching, man. We've been talking about the God of Plenty, and you know, this message is so biblical, and I've been trying to just give you word because so many people live beneath their privilege. And in this hour we're living in where the stock market is in trouble, people are losing jobs, there's a strain in America. And at the end of the day, we have to connect to something greater than us that can provide us the resources we need to do what we're called to do. So just a little review, you know, I started this and I started teaching it. And so a few things that I share. One, I shared that the Lord, according to Deuteronomy 28:11, will make us plenteous in goods. Okay, I'm not gonna teach these again, but to be plenteous means in Hebrew to have excess, to exceed, to have more than enough. Now the whole concept of this teaching is to help you understand for real that God wants to share with you all that he is and all that he has. It is his desire to superimpose his heavenly resources in every sense of the word on our lives where we can bring glory to him in the earth and advance his kingdom. So he wants to make us plenteous in good and good in the widest sense. In Hebrew, benah deals with profit. It deals with prosperity. It deals with wealth. It deals with benefits. We cover those things. Go back and watch the rest of these messages or listen to them on the podcast. Feed your spirit with this so your faith can grow. And then we talked about, after that, we begin to discover that our sufficiency was from God. We talked from Psalm 145:16, where we talked about that when we open our— when God opens his generous hand, it's full of blessings, satisfying the longings of every living thing. I want you to catch the fact that God's hand is generous. His hands are full of blessings. Glory to God. And he wants to satisfy the longings, the desires of every living thing. He's our Father. He's Abba. And so he wants to take care of us. Are y'all listening to me? Glory to God. We talked about in Psalm 115:14 how the Lord would increase us more and more. You and your children. And then we went, we went on to talk about how we're already filled with plenty. We discovered, glory to the name of God, that we came to this planet packing everything we need to be who we are. We just have to learn to take supernatural introspective, discover it, and learn how to release it. Glory to God. And see it working in our lives. So I want you to understand, glory to God, that God is for us. And so as we continue today, we ended up last week talking about the covenant of wealth. I didn't get to finish, so I'm gonna continue along those lines. I want to read— I want to start, glory to God, by reading a few texts. Glory to Jesus. I want to read Proverbs 3, verses 9 and 10, and I'm reading from the New King James Version. Okay, Proverbs 3, verses 9 and 10. You'll find these words. It says, honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first fruits of all your increase, so your barns— listen to this— will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine. Now, here's a key, very important key. To why a lot of people— listen to me, guys— are not walking in plenty. Because first of all, they don't understand the power in this text. A lot of people don't even believe. A lot of people go to church and do not believe this because they don't do it. The scriptures— if you believe that, you do it. And you won't allow anything in the world— people running around talking about tithing is wrong, giving is wrong. You will let none of that, uh, dissuade you. You wouldn't even let your personal situation dissuade you from tithing and giving God what belongs to him. The Bible says here, honor the Lord with your possessions. Wait a minute, so that means everything you possess, everything you have, you have it to bring honor to God. And the Bible is saying here, take what you have and honor him. And that literally means to take what you have and share what you have with the Lord, because you wouldn't have anything without him. Now, honor is a powerful word that most people think they can honor God with $5. But I mean, listen, honestly, man, that's not honor to God. I mean, especially if— glory to the name of God— you have a revelation of who he is and what he's done for you and how good he's been, and you honor the Lord with $5? That's not honor. When you honor somebody with something— the Bible even says of a human leader, the elder— oh my God— that rules well is worthy of double honor. So if a human being is worthy of double honor, what more is God worthy of? Come on, man. And we wonder why we got holding hands and empty pockets. We wonder why we run around struggling. And that's not the will of God. We gotta learn how to honor him with our possessions, as if everything we have is his anyway. And then he says, with the first fruits of all your increase. Now I wonder, see, some of you didn't view that stimulus payment you was getting as increase. Some of you didn't view that extra money you was getting on top of unemployment as increase. And so you just kept tithing off of what you felt like tithing off of. But the Bible says, honor him with the first fruits of all your increase. So if you got a $1,200 stimulus check, you were supposed to tithe off that stimulus check. If you got an extra $600 bucks on your unemployment, You were supposed to file on the whole unemployment check. Come on, church. Not just give what you wanted to give. The Bible makes it clear that if you want your barns to be filled with plenty, you have to make an investment of honor with the things you have back to the kingdom. Oh my God. It says your vats will overflow with new wine. You'll constantly have new streams and new fruit and new— hallelujah— resources to fulfill the assignment of God in your life because you honored God. Oh my God. With the first fruits of all your increase. See, the reason we don't have plenty in our barns is because we don't understand how to honor God. That word honor is a financial word. It means give God what belongs to him. He's worthy of honor. I mean, listen, if I could give my God a million dollars every time I walked in the church, I would give it. Because at the end of the day, I understand that every cent that I have comes from God. Some of you can't say that because, watch this, as some of you can't be trusted with plenty, because you have not been proven faithful with the little. The scripture says, be faithful over a few things and he'll make you ruler over many. And many times you can't be trusted ruling over many because you haven't been, oh my God, faithful with the little you have. Listen, you won't tithe off a million dollars. You know what a tithe off a million dollars is? That's $100,000. The moment you got that million, you will go to making excuses because you have not even practiced with the little. You won't tithe off a million if you won't tithe off a hundred. Come on, church. If you won't bring God $10, you ain't gonna bring him $100,000 off a million. Oh boy, okay, all right, I'mma leave it alone. But I'm telling you right now, this is a key to why our barns are not filled with plenty and the covenant of wealth. Remember last week I told you, you got to align yourself with your part of the covenant so God can do his part. He's always 100% in. It's us that fall short. So that means, again, if you get $1,000 a week, you owe God $100. Yes, you do. You owe him $100. And when you learn to be faithful in that, he could trust you with a million. Because he know you'll bring him 100,000. Oh God. Okay. All right, whatever. Let's go to my next verse. My next verse from the NIV version, the 1984 version of the NIV version. Psalm 23, verses 1, and I'm going to read verse 5 too. Watch this. The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. Okay, let's, let's stop right there. That's the verse 1 of Psalm 23. The Lord is my shepherd. Yeah, we learned that in Sunday school. Well, why is it that so many people that say the Lord is their shepherd isn't one? Here's another key: because you got to align yourself properly in the sheep-shepherd relationship. A sheep, as dumb as he is, knows that the shepherd is the key to him eating, it's the key to his protection, it's the key— oh my God— to him growing. It's the key to him being able to reproduce. Whatever he does, he knows the shepherd plays a vital role in his lifespan. So what does he do? He obeys the shepherd. He follows the shepherd. He follows what the shepherd says. Oh my God. Here's the problem. We, we don't experience plenty because we don't follow what the shepherd says. We are here doing assignments he didn't tell us to do. We're out here, glory to the name of God, getting involved in things that was not God's will and want God's blessing to provide for that. You working in a vineyard that God didn't tell you to work in, but a sheep follows what the shepherd says. He goes where the shepherd goes. He does what the shepherd— he doesn't eat in other pastures. He eats at God's table. If God is your shepherd, the Bible is clear here, you shall not have lack. Father, in Jesus' name, I pray for the people under the sound of my voice, whether live or by replay, God, and I decree and declare that they will develop the mentality of a sheep and that they will follow you wherever you go, they will go. And Father, we commit ourselves to the sheep-shepherd covenant. And we know, God, when we align ourselves fully with this, we will lack no thing. In the name of Jesus, we decree it to be so. Amen and thank God. Hallelujah. Verse 5 says, you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. So for all of those that say you're crazy for following after God, for being sold out, for being a fool for Christ, for being submitted to everything He says. God says what He'll do right in the face of your enemies, He'll bless you. He says what He'll do is prepare a table. He'll allow you to sit down at the table and eat really, really good. Oh my God, I'm a witness. I'm a witness that God will prepare a table in the presence of those who want to kill you. Who want to destroy you. God will keep raising you up. God will keep blessing you. God will keep providing for you. God will keep filling your barns with plenty in the presence of your enemies. And he'll anoint your head with oil and your cup will run over. Oh my God. Listen, the Lord will bless us from shoes to jets if you want it. Whatever you want, he'll bless you from shoes to houses, from shoes Everything— listen, this is the key here. Everything comes from the Good Shepherd. Are y'all hearing me? So let's jump into this today. We talked about that covenant of wealth last week. We started off in 2 Chronicles 16:9 where we talked about how the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward him. Mm-hmm. Yeah. To show himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward him. Hear me good when I speak to you tonight, today, on this— at this Apostle's Table. God is looking for you. You just got to position yourself in obedience, position yourself in honor and loyalty. So that the eyes of the Lord can find you where you are, and he can share all that he is and all that he has with you. Stop living subpar and become a partaker of his divine nature. We've already covered all these things. Okay, let's, let's jump into this today, and I want to give you some covenant of wealth scriptures. First of all, Deuteronomy 28:2. The Bible says, all these covenant blessings shall come on thee and overtake thee. So the covenant blessings of God, when we align ourselves in obedience, the scripture says they will come on us and these blessings will overtake us. Oh my God. Oh my God. So you got to align yourself so the blessing, number one, can come on you. Which means everywhere you go, the blessing can visually be identified, that you're walking in the blessing and in alignment with the will and plan of God for your life. Lord have mercy. I don't know about you, but I need the devil to see that God is with me, and I need sinners to know that I'm blessed because of him. Then when the blessing comes on you, the world can see what's on you and believe. And the Bible said they will also overtake you, which means you won't be able to get away from the blessing if you wanted to. They will tackle you like Lawrence Taylor. But again, why are so many not being run down by that heavenly linebacker? Glory to God, that's taking you down and overtaking you with blessings. And I'm not just talking about the spiritual blessings. I talked about this last week. See, at the end of the day, we want to prophesy, speak in tongues, spit, blow bubbles, go to IHOP, do all those things that so-called spiritual people do. But then our hands are holy, our words appear holy, but our pockets are empty. And that ain't the will of God. Holy hands, empty pockets, not his will. I said it again: holy hands, empty pockets, not his will. Glory to God. Oh, Rabbi. Breke lebesu rabakadi koshika. I hear that, God. But I— you need to, you need to get yourself in position because the blessing is looking for you. The blessing is in pursuit of you, but you got to be where you're supposed to be, doing what you're supposed to be doing. You got to be moving in obedience. Hallelujah. Oh my God, I'm almost done. Watch this. Psalm 37:25. The Bible said, I have been young and now I'm old. 30— Psalm 37:25. Here it is. Yet I have not seen the righteous, God's covenant people, forsaken, nor his seed beg for bread. Now David is saying in his lifetime, he's— I've been young, I've been old, and never have I seen a person that's in covenant with God beg for bread or lack anything. Good God Almighty, did y'all hear me? God says this ain't his will for us to be begging, for us to be broke as Job's turkey, broker than the Ten Commandments. That's not God's will. Holy hands, empty pockets, not his will. God's will is for us to be blessed. It's— listen, it ought to be a testimony in our families that we were once old, we were once young, once young, but once young, but now we're old, and we've never seen anybody in our family beg for bread or suffer lack. That's God's will. But you cannot tap into that will if you're out here trying to do it on your own. If you've established your own belief system on how you think it works. But God, oh my God, wants you to understand if you turn toward him— oh, I'm going too fast. Okay, okay, okay. Look at Psalm 35, verse 27. It says, let them shout for joy and be glad that favor my righteous call. All these praise breaks, all this shouting and yelling. Glory to God. And really, there's no manifestation of what you shouting about. I mean, at the end of the day, what you dancing for? What are you lifting your voice for? Are you favoring his righteous cause? Do you have the resources you need to really advance the kingdom of God the way he wants you to advance it? He says, let them say continually, yay, let the Lord be magnified. Which has pleasure in the covenant prosperity of his servant. So when I'm shouting, I should be remembering, according to this text, that God takes pleasure in me based on what he has done for me and through me and in me. Hallelujah! Glory to God! Look at Psalm 68, verse 19. It says, blessed be the Lord who loads us up daily with covenant benefits. Wait a minute, to have benefits means that you're a benefactor. Just like you work a job, and if you got benefits on that job, you have to— hallelujah— put in your 90-day probation period, then you have access to those benefits as long as you do your part. Hallelujah. If you go to the doctor, you pay a copay, the, the— your employer will pay the benefit. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. So that means if I align myself adequately and properly with God, God takes care of his part and he loads me up with benefits so that I can do his work on earth and bring glory to his name through his blessing. Somebody touch yourself, say, I'm loaded with benefits. Glory to God. Ecclesiastes 5:19 says It's a good thing to receive covenant wealth from God and the good covenant health to enjoy. So God says it's a good and profitable thing for you to get wealth from him and have the good health to enjoy. It makes no sense for you to get everything you want and not healthy enough to enjoy. So I declare today in the name of Jesus that not only are you wealthy, but you are healthy. Hallelujah! That you're healthy, you're wealthy, and you're whole in the name of Jesus. That's in the Bible. He says it's a good thing to receive it. Some of you walk around here saying, oh, I'm gonna be poor. Oh, everybody's gonna— somebody's got to be broke. The devil is a liar. If you're in covenant with him according to the scripture, it's a good thing to receive it. Somebody ought to lift your hands right now. And say, Lord, I receive your wealth, I receive your healing, I receive your deliverance, and I receive the health to enjoy it. Hallelujah. Listen, as soon as we start hearing the truth, our spirit— because the Lord, hallelujah, lives in us— it starts turning toward that truth. Because when truth and truth become congruent, it produces the tangible realities of truth. My God. So prosperity and the blessing starts coming towards us and looking for us when we start doing what the Bible says. Oh my God. Listen to me, y'all. If you touch Jesus, He'll touch you back. Oh my God, if you turn toward him, he'll turn toward you. The scripture says if you draw nigh to God, he'll draw nigh to you. Watch this, if you do that, you'll get his attention and he'll do you good. Glory to God. I said, if you do that, you'll get his attention and he will do you good. My time is gone, y'all. I gotta quit. Let's pray. Father, in Jesus' name, bless your word today. Bless your people. I pray that you would cause them, God, to number one, align themselves properly in the sheep-shepherd relationship. And Father, I pray that you will open their hearts to receive wealth and health. Let them know it's a good thing to receive what you have for them. And let your will be accomplished in their lives today, Lord. I pray for obedience, that your people will honor you with their possessions, that they will give you the first fruits of their increase, and that you, God, will fill their barns with plenty because they align themselves in obedience. And I give you praise for it now, in Jesus' name. Amen and thank God. Listen, if you were listening today and perhaps you don't know Jesus and the free pardon of your sin, perhaps you're someone that has been saved and you know you've walked away from God, or just maybe you're in the church and you understand you got sin in your life right now and you know your business with— is not straight with God. Listen, if Jesus came back today and you have unrepented sin in your life, oh my God, and you do not know Jesus and the free pardon of your sin, you would go to hell. I don't care how many teachings there are that say there's not a hell. The Bible is right and somebody's wrong. There is a hell. And if you do not get saved, you're going. But if you want to be born again today and tap into the covenant of wealth that I'm teaching about, I just simply want you to pray this prayer with me. You got to believe in your heart, you got to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. The Bible says if you do that, you will be saved. Listen, if you pray with me, there is information on the screen. Please go to that website, write me. I want to give you the next steps to your walk with God. Listen, if you're not saved, every saint praying right now, if you got sin in your life and you need to repent, I need you to repeat after me right now. Say, Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sins. Say, Lord, I open my heart and I invite you in. Save me, I want to be saved. Say, Lord, I believe that you died and you rose again. Say, Lord, Fill me with the Holy Ghost right now in Jesus' name. Listen, if you prayed that prayer, I want you to know right now you are saved. Listen, write me at that address on the screen and I'll be glad to take you further in your walk with God. Listen, if this message has blessed you today, Honor the Lord with your giving. The ways to give are on the screen. Please trust the Lord with your seed. This ministry is good ground, and I know as you sow, God will bless you. Too many others have been blessed through their sacrifice and their seed into this ministry. Why don't you join the ranks of those who have honored the Lord with their possessions toward Roddell Church? I trust you'll do it. I love you guys. Thank you for joining us. Y'all be blessed, and I'll see you tomorrow right here at the Apostle's Table. Peace.
