The Apostles Table | The God of Plenty, Part 7: THE COVENANT OF WEALTH | DR. MIKE WOODS

In this live sermon, Dr. Mike Woods (Mike Wood Sr.) celebrates his 51st birthday while delivering the seventh installment of his "God of Plenty" series, titled "The Covenant of Wealth." He opens with a personal greeting, a prayer, and a request for birthday donations via Cash App. Woods then presents the central theological claim that God is a God of abundance who has made a covenant of wealth with each believer. He defines a covenant as a mutual agreement requiring both parties to fulfill their obligations, emphasizing that any lack of blessing is due to the believer’s failure to uphold their side. He supports his teaching with multiple biblical passages—2 Chronicles 16:9, 2 Samuel 9, Deuteronomy 8:18, Zechariah 8‑13, and Galatians 3—explaining how each illustrates God’s desire to bestow wealth on those whose hearts are perfect toward Him. Woods urges listeners to “perfect” their hearts, break soul‑ties to past habits, religions, or relationships, and align their senses and imagination with God’s promises. He argues that material prosperity is a visible symbol of the covenant and essential for advancing the Kingdom, urging believers to seek wealth not for personal gain but to fund kingdom work. Throughout, he repeatedly calls listeners to affirm statements (“God wants to share with me”), to pray, and to sow financial seeds into the ministry, promising divine blessing in return. The sermon concludes with a reminder to tune in for the next part, contact information for prayer, and an invitation to accept salvation.

Well, praise the Lord, and grace and peace be multiplied to you. And yes, welcome today to the Apostle's Table. You know, today is a very special day because today is my 51st birthday. Wow, how, how special and how awesome is that? Glory to God. Today is my 51st birthday, and I'm really excited to share it with you. And listen, for those of you that want to give a gift and say, hey Apostle, we appreciate all you do every day when you share with us, if you want to help celebrate my 51st birthday, uh, my personal Cash App is on the screen and you can go ahead and send that gift and I will certainly be greatly appreciative of it. And if you don't, just a simple happy birthday will suffice. I really appreciate God for the opportunity to share with you and to give you the things that the Lord has given me. You know, for 51 years of my life, I have been on this planet, and you know, it has been quite obvious to me and those around me that, that what I'm doing today, I was born to do it. For 31 of those 51 years, I've been full-time in ministry. I've traveled all over the world doing what God has called me to do, and it gives me great pleasure to be able to still be standing today. You know, the devil has hit me his best shot, but guess what? I'm still standing. And I'm telling you right now, and I served notice on the devil, he won't ever be able to shut me up until I'm in the ground. So I'm grateful for life today. I'm happy, and I want you to get your Bibles. And I'm telling you, today is going to be awesome. We're getting ready to share. Now, I've taken— I took a little hiatus and I hadn't been on this, this lesson, but I'm back and we're gonna pick up. We've taught 6 previous lessons on the subject, the God of Plenty. Right where you are, I want you to open your mouth and say, God is a plenteous God. Come on, say that again. God is a plenteous God. I want you to be very firm and strong in that conviction. He's not the God of empty. He's not the God of lack. He's not looking to gain anything. He's the God of Plenty. He has everything, and he has enough to pass around. I want to encourage you, go back on my page or go back on the Rhoda Church page and watch the previous messages, because these messages will be a blessing to your life. So today is part 7, and today I'm going to talk about the covenant of wealth. What a great day on my birthday to discuss the covenant of wealth. So we cannot even talk about the God of plenty without gaining an understanding that God really wants to share what he has with us. Why don't you touch yourself? Just put your hands on yourself somewhere and say, in the name of Jesus, say, I believe that God wants to share with me. And I want you to understand that he really and truly does. So let's pray before we get started, and I'm going to jump right into the heart of this. I won't hold you long today. Again, if you want to sow into my birthday, I invite you to do that. It'll be a tremendous blessing. You know, I know that the ministry God has given us is good ground, so I want to invite you to sow and be a blessing. If the ministry blesses you, sow back and be a blessing. Glory to God. Let's pray. Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you now for my 51st birthday. I thank you for 31 years in ministry. I thank you, God, for what you're doing. I thank you that these are the best days of my life. I thank you, God, that my greatest days are still in front of me. I thank you that I'm healthy, God. I'm strong. And God, I give you praise and give you all the glory for that. I thank you for every person under the sound of my voice. I pray, God, that as we teach today, they will experience the light, the illumination, and the intelligence of the Holy Spirit. Let no flesh shine from Michael Woods. Let the word that they receive today be spirit and life. And I thank you for liberation and healing, for your word declares you sent your word— thank you, Father— and it healed them. Father, you're such a good God. Hallelujah. Lord, God, you're good. You're better than good. Thank you for how good you've been to me. And God, I know there's somebody under the sound of my voice that can praise you right now for how good you've been to them. So, Father, breshiku rabande kuta. And God, we give you the glory now for how good you've been. In Jesus' name, amen and amen. And let me tell you something, you ought to praise him right where you are because not only has he been good to you, I'm here to serve notice he's about to be more good, better than good, than he ever has been before in your life. Somebody right now, oshkiteba, brekedebe, kumtabasi, ought to praise God in advance. Laba ku, for how good God has been to you and what he's about to do. I'm telling you, you ought to praise him now. His credit is good, so you ought to thank him in advance for what he's getting ready to do in your life. Hallelujah! Glory be to God! Well, let's jump into this, and again, this is part 7 of the lesson The God of Plenty. And I want you to understand something. God is not deficient. He's not insufficient. He is more than enough. We've already discussed that. He's El Shaddai. He's cut a covenant of wealth with each one of us. And so I want to show you with clarity in scripture today what this covenant of wealth looks like. So first, I want to lay a backdrop, and then at the end of this, I'm going to give you some covenant of wealth scriptures. For you to walk out and for you to live on. But I want to lay a backdrop so you can kind of see how all of this works together for us as the children of God. Amen. Touch yourself again and say, God wants to share with me. So let's first get a working definition of covenant. A covenant is an agreement between two or more parties where both parties agree to uphold their end of the covenant. So anytime God makes a covenant with his people, I need you to be clear, God is never going to be the one that lacks holding up his part. If God made a covenant promise to you and I, and that promise is not working or not coming forth or coming to pass in our life, the reason for that is that we have somewhere dropped the ball in holding up our end of the bargain so that the covenant rights as defined by the covenant can be passed on to us. So if you're not experiencing God sharing with you It's not because he's deficient. It's not because he lied. It's— oh my God— it's not because he doesn't have enough to pass around. It's because somewhere in your life you have failed to uphold your part of the covenant agreement. So I want to tell you really and clearly today, that truly there exists a covenant of wealth between God and his people. And it's those who choose to uphold their end of the agreement that have an opportunity to assess this wealth. And this is why Jesus said, the poor you have with you always, because he knew that there would be some that would not uphold their part of the agreement. It doesn't mean that God is a respecter of persons. It just means that when God cuts a covenant, there's something required on both ends to be done for the covenant to be valid and for the benefits— remember that word— of the covenant to be released. Oh my God. So there is indeed a covenant of wealth. I dare somebody watching right now If you're watching this by Facebook Live or YouTube, type in the comments, glory to God, that God is a covenant-keeping God. I just felt that in my belly. He indeed is a covenant-keeping God. We just have to become a covenant-keeping people. If we become a covenant-keeping people, he will keep his end of the bargain. And I know many of you probably saying, well, I live right. I pay my tithe. I do this and I do that. But there's some area you may be lacking. And I want to show you as I teach today on my birthday, glory to God, how to line up your end of the agreement so that what God has promised can be released sweatlessly. Are you hearing this? So let's go first to 2 Chronicles. Let's go to the word of God, chapter 16 and verse number 9. I want to read this, glory to the name of God, because we got to understand this piece or nothing else is going to matter. All right, so 2 Chronicles 16:9, you'll find these words. It says, for the eyes of the Lord run to and throughout the whole earth. Hear this, to show himself strong in behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward him. Now let's break that down. First of all, the eyes of the Lord, that's an anthropomorphic term. Anthropomorphism deals with the idea that if you read in the scripture that the Lord has eyes, watch this, He actually has eyes. So anthropomorphism shares with us that God literally has faculties that he sees with. So he's looking with these supernatural divine eyes throughout the whole earth, which means no matter where you are, whether you're in Africa, whether you're in North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Austria. Are y'all hearing me? The, the Caribbean. No matter where you are, God is moving throughout the earth looking for somebody he can show himself strong on behalf of. Now watch what it says. It says that he's looking for— watch this— those whose heart is perfect toward him. Now, the Hebrew word for heart there is leb, and the Hebrew term for perfect means leb is not the heart that is 6 inches below the collarbone. The leb is the center of man's moral being. Watch this. The heart is the soul of man. Here we go. So the soul has to enter into a state of perfection This is the first piece of the covenant. Hallelujah. That we have to line up to. And that means, first of all, if I have not received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and I just begin to grow in my mind, my will and my emotions, my soul, what's this? My senses being fully exercised, my taste, my ability to smell, my ability to hear. My ability to see, my ability to taste. Are y'all hearing this? My ability to touch. I have to fully exercise those senses where they are beyond what I can see in the flesh, what I can hear in the flesh, what I can taste in the flesh, what I can sense in the flesh. But I have to be able to mature, which is the word perfect here in Hebrew. I have to mature my my heart, whose heart has been matured, whose senses have been fully exercised, which means you got to work out your senses where they are enhanced. Ooh-wee! Where you can tap into the realm of the spirit and open yourself up to the word of God and begin to grow and be groomed in what God says and believe it without a shadow of a doubt, man. Oh boy, oh God, let me slow down, let me slow down. So show himself strong, watch this, the Hebrew idea in this compound word in the Hebrew means to bestow, listen, to grant, to extend his covenant wealth wealth towards. I'll say that again: to bestow, to grant, or extend his covenant wealth towards. So here it is, God is looking with his eyes all through the earth, and that includes you and I. He's looking for somebody who will reach up and align themselves— oh my God— with the covenant, right? By perfecting their heart, exercising their senses, longing for what God wants for their life. He says, I'm looking for somebody to bestow, to grant and extend my covenant wealth to. Did y'all hear me? I mean, I mean, seriously, did you hear me? He's looking for somebody he can extend his covenant wealth to. I don't know about you, but I'm signing up for that. I have positioned myself, glory to the Lord, and I understand, you know, I thank God for the blessings upon my life. I thank God for the things he's done for me, but there is more that I need. There's more that he needs to do. One of my covenant confessions every day is that I am a very wealthy man, and I say I am a billionaire filled with innovation so I can advance the kingdom of God. Not that I can have wealth for myself, but to advance the kingdom. So God says, I'm looking for someone who's in covenant with me, who's willing to learn, who's willing to grow, who's willing to take what I give them and advance my agenda. See, God's consuming passion— he's consumed with this man— God's consuming passion and determination is to locate his covenant people who he can share with. Touch yourself again and say, God wants to share with me. Type it on the screen. God wants to share with me. If you're listening to the podcast, say it out loud. God wants to share with me. Woo-wee! Listen, this is an undying covenant devotion. To find us, that propels him to extend himself to us with everything he is. Watch this. And with everything he has. He wants to propel and superimpose everything he is, everything he has into our life. I talked last time about being partakers of the divine nature. I talked about how in golf a par is to— glory to the name of God— to perfect a hole. So if there are 4, if there's a par 4, you have 4 strokes to get to that hole. Par— I always say when I make a par playing golf, pars are good. Glory to God. Because you, you eat— you evened out every stroke. You did it in the amount of time measured. God says I want you to be partakers of what I have. But when you don't make par or you make a bogey, you get to the hole in 5 strokes or 6 strokes, which is a double bogey. Oh my God. If you get to a par 4 hole in 7 strokes, it's a triple bogey. Now, if you, if you're playing golf like that, guess what you're playing now? You're playing subpar. And the problem with a lot of believers They're living subpar. Oh, oh my God. They're living life under par because they won't line up with the covenant and put their heart in the right place so God can share with them. Listen, the first thing you got to do is break religion in your life. See, most of you listen to this message now, you fight it. Because it's talking about you having more, and you've accepted that where you are is where you're supposed to be. And so, but the moment you open your heart to truth and start hearing truth, and we turn toward that truth— watch this— when we've decided this for real, the blessings of God immediately start pursuing us. And aligning itself with our heart to be perfected toward God. This is good, man, because guess what? Now when we start doing what the Bible says, the blessing looks at us, God, and says, okay, they're ready, they're mature, and they're growing, they're obeying my word, so I can share this blessing with them. Oh boy, I, I, oh my God, okay. So here's what I want you to know. God— see, we like to hold on to stuff that God wants to take. We'll hold on to people that God's trying to take out of our life. We hold on to jobs that God's trying to take. We all talk— we hold on to relationships with things of the past. You know, a soul tie is not just something that happens through sexual intercourse, but a soul tie can occur through any kind of intercourse with your soul. You can be tied to a religious culture or religious way of doing things. Oh, y'all not helping me preach or teach right now. Matter of fact, the more I teach, I feel y'all, the less you're involved. But you ought to open your mouth, type some hearts or something, and shout glory to God. Because some of you are soul tied to family members. Had nothing to do with sex, but you had intercourse with an idea. You had intercourse with a way of doing things. You had a intercourse, intercourse. You entered into a course of how you view money, of how you view your lifestyle. And so because of that, now you got a soul tie with a bad way of thinking and you cannot achieve at a higher level because you won't break that. Oh my God. So Father, in Jesus' name, right now I command every soul tie under my voice now to be broken in the name of Jesus. Some of you have soul ties to churches that was your great-great-grandmama church, or you're so tied to a person that you got emotional attachment to this place. You know you sitting up in that church and ain't growing. Y'all not talking to me here. You know your ministry is frustrating and you've reached the capacity that you can with that person. You just yet holding on because you believe that you're supposed to be there because you had an intercourse with them, not sexual solo, and you got tied into them and you can't break away. Well, you need to get somewhere where you hear true. So now you live in subpar, you're living under your privilege. My God, man, listen, God loves us so much and he has such a covenant love towards us, and he's not going to give up and quit until The extension of that love is satisfied. So we might as well get in place because he's going to keep driving at us. It's unfortunate that some people die and never experience it. And a lot of people, it's unfortunate they never learn the truth. Oh my God. Because they're stuck in a tie that won't open their ears to hear what's right. Let's go to 2 Samuel 9. I want to show you 2 Samuel 9:1-3. Glory to the name of God. How David was consumed. Let's go there. 2 Samuel 9. 2 Samuel 9:1-3. Glory to God. Let's go there. Praise the name of God. David was consumed with locating an heir of Jonathan so he can leave legacy and covenant wealth upon Jonathan's house. Now this is David. Now let's, let's read it. Let's read it because y'all might not believe it. Let's read it. Let's read it. Let's read it. Now watch this. David, verse 1. The Bible says David asked, is there anyone still left in the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan's sake? Now there was a servant. Hallelujah. Of Saul's household named Ziba. They summoned him to appear before David, and the king said to him, 'Are you Ziba?' 'At your service,' he replied. The king asked, 'Is there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I can show God's kindness?' I want to stop right there because I don't want to get into teaching this story. It's a very powerful story, but I want to just really lay a backdrop to show you. First of all, the Bible says David was a man after God's own heart. This is an example in this text of David operating as a man after God's own heart. His eyes went to and fro trying to find somebody in the house of Jonathan who he can bestow wealth upon. That's powerful, man. He— David said, listen, I gotta make sure we bless Jonathan's house because he's connected to me. The love I have from him is an undying love, and I gotta bless his house. Now, David, a mere human but a man after God's own heart, was running to and fro looking for somebody he could bestow wealth upon. How much more do you think our Father— somebody ought to shout right now! Woo! You ought to shout right now! Glory to God! Listen, how much more do you think our Father— thank you, Jesus— is looking for us Hallelujah. Looking for his covenant creation so he can bestow wealth. I'm not talking about no little bitty itty blessing. He wants to bestow wealth on you. Wealth. Hallelujah. He's looking for you right now. You just got to get in position. And I'm telling you, I'm prophesying to you right now. Position yourself because God is looking for you. Touch yourself and say, God is looking for me because he wants to share with me. I think— come on, touch yourself again and say, God is looking for me because he wants to share with me. Oh God, have mercy. I'm telling you, he's looking for you because he wants to share with you. Oh my God, have mercy. Breck, Alabama. I just told you God wants to share all of who he is and all of who he is, all of what he has, all of what he has. He's looking for you so he can share with you. He's searching for you. Watch this, let's go to Deuteronomy 8:18. I gotta move, y'all. Deuteronomy 8:18. Oh God, just touch yourself again. I'm trying to get off that and say, God is looking for me. Come on, say it. Say, God is looking for me. Come on, say it again. God is looking for me. Hallelujah! Glory to God! He's looking for you. Hallelujah! Deuteronomy 8:18, y'all know this. The Bible said, but thou shalt remember the Lord thy God, for it is he that gives thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swear unto thy fathers, as it is— are y'all hearing that— this day. So this ain't changed. He, he swore this covenant to his fathers then and is still valid for now. And he says we are to remember. Your mind has two functions: memory memory and imagination. Your memory replays history. It replays the events of the past. Watch this. Your imagination preplays the events of the future. Two functions. Memory replays the past. Imagination preplays the future. Mm. Oh, glory to God. So if that be the case, instead of remembering all of this craziness, and all of the failures, all of the problems in your life. Why not study the promises of God and remember what God has covenanted to us? And then after we remember it, we start pre-playing in our imagination, envision what the future is going to look like. He says, remember the Lord your God, for it is he that gives you power. Now let me read it in the New Living Translation. He says, remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath. God says, I need you to be wealthy, and I've given you the power to be successful. It's inside of you. Every one of you listening to me, you came to this planet I came to this planet, you came to this planet with an innate ability, with an innate aptitude to have good success. Every one of you, you're not stupid, you're not slow, you're not dumb, you're not— you do not lack intelligence. Matter of fact, you came to this earth packing all of the intelligence, all of the resources, all of the wisdom you need to have good success. You just got to learn how to tap into it and align yourself with the covenant. Oh boy, I'm getting too excited. Watch this. This simply says to me that God wants us to be successful. He wants us to fulfill the covenant so others that can look and see the blessing of God on us. Let me tell you something, wealth and prosperity It is a sign and symbol of our covenant with God. I'm going to say that again. Some of y'all don't want to hear this right here because you think a symbol of your covenant with God is just the spiritual aspects of speaking in tongues and prophesying and moving in gifts. Listen, we do all of that. We celebrate those things in our life. We're grateful meaningful. Those are important to what we do. But the outward symbol— because guess what? People in the world, they don't understand gifts and prophecy and tongues. Matter of fact, those things are edification to the church. And the reality is, when we do use spiritual gifts in the connotation with the sinner, they must be explained. They must be brought to understanding. But the symbol of our wealth, that we're in the kingdom, that God is our Father, Listen, if your daddy in the natural had money, the way you dressed, the way you lived, glory to God, would have been a symbol of the household you came out of in the natural. Now how is it you gonna tell me you are in covenant with a God of plenty and you look like you're about to go steal something? Your, your shoes are run down, your clothes are run down, your car is run down. Y'all not talking to me here. God wants you to come up in your thinking, come up in your mentality. God doesn't want you unemployed, he wants you deployed. He wants you deployed where you're establishing innovation, establishing business, where you're advancing the kingdom of God. Come on, man, the prosperity and wealth is a symbol of our covenant with God. I hear you, I hear your thoughts. Yeah, I hear you. The poor you have, which you always, preacher. Well, he wasn't talking about you and I. That wasn't supposed to be our plight. The poor would be those that didn't tap into their covenant rights. Yeah, because there are going to be some that will not embrace this. And so you're just teaching prosperity. The last thing I am is a prosperity teacher. I am a Bible teacher. I'm a kingdom teacher. And I understand nothing in the kingdom can be established without wealth. Period. You go try to establish something without money, you can't even keep lights on in your house without money. And God wants us to have all the resources we need so we can establish his kingdom on earth. Do you think Jesus is coming back to sit, to sit on his throne and be building a kingdom when he gets here? That's not what's going to happen. Uh-oh, I'm sorry to tell you, when Jesus returns He's going to sit on the throne of a kingdom that has already been erected, that's already been propagated by his people who are ambassadors and citizens on earth right now. And you know what? I want to be a part. I want to play my role in putting something in the earth that when Jesus comes back, I have played my role in what I was supposed to establish. And you should want to too. And you cannot do it without wealth. Y'all don't want to hear this. I know I'm teaching real good on my birthday. Y'all need to cash at me right now because what I'm telling you, if you apply it, it'll change your life right now. Glory to God. You can cash at me for my birthday right now. I'm teaching you on my birthday something that will change your life forever if you adhere to it. I'm not talking about running around here thinking you know what you're doing and you struggling. Glory to the name of God. You just hoping and wishing that your business work, and you have literally no idea what you're doing, and you don't know how to pull heaven's resources. Oh my God. So that the covenant can move forward and advance. Whoo-hoo! I got prosperity. Yes, it's a sign, a symbol of our covenant with God. Okay, y'all don't believe it. All right, so let's go to Zechariah. 8 and 13. I'm gonna read this New Living Translation. It says, among the other nations, Judah and Israel became symbols of a cursed nation. So watch this. When, when Judah, which is the praising tribe— glory to God— of Israel— Israel, God's people— while they were entangled in an entanglement. Glory to God! With other nations. Praise God! They became a cursed nation because they started doing crazy things that were out, out of the covenant. They start following after idols. They start— oh my God— in a lot of instances, they will bow down and worship false gods just to stay alive. I need you to understand something. They became cursed because they broke covenant. But here's the prophecy of Zechariah. I love the prophetic. He says, but no longer will you be cursed. He says, now this is the Lord speaking, I will rescue you and make you both a symbol— watch this— and source of blessing. Wait a minute, I just told you— see, y'all didn't believe it when I said it, but it's in the Bible. I just told you that prosperity is a symbol of our covenant. God, see, when you, when you cursed and broke and struggling and enslaved and entangled, that's not a sign of covenant with God. That's not his will for you. He says, when you begin to move in my covenant, it becomes a symbol to others of what God can do. And some of us, God have mercy, have struggled too long, and we've been having the name of Jesus coming out of our mouth and can't hardly get nothing done that we need to get done. It's not his plan. It's not his plan. It's a curse, all right? It's a curse. But God says when you tap into the covenant promise of God— my God, here he says he's going to release wealth. I'm telling you, I'm going to keep confessing it until I am overwhelmed with wealth. I'm going to keep working the ideas that God give me until I'm overwhelmed overwhelmed with wealth so that I can advance the kingdom. I suggest you hear this teaching and you do the same thing because it's a symbol so you can be a source to bless others. Did you not know the Bible says we're blessed to be a blessing? That's not just so I can tell somebody with my mouth, oh, you're blessed and you're nice and you're wonderful, and bless them with my words. That's only one portion of the blessing. We should have plenty of money to give away all the time, to help those that need the blessing. Oh my God, to help fuel them in going forward. Oh God, I'm telling you, I receive it in the name of Jesus. Touch yourself again and say, God wants to share with me. And say, God has so much, he wants to share all who he is and all that he has. Say it again. He wants to share all who he is and all of what he has. All of who he is and all of what he has. Boy, I'm almost done. Let's go to Galatians 3. I'm almost through, man. I'm almost— Well, praise the Lord, everybody! And yes, thank you so much for joining us at the Apostle's Table today.
