A Friday morning devotional on the power of pausing between what happens and how you respond. The speaker has taught for thirty years that this space lets you hear the stimulus, weigh it, and choose your response instead of reacting emotionally. Before anger or crisis, enter that space, pray, and seek God's peace.

Hey, pleasant Friday morning, family! I pray you are well. I pray that you are embracing this day the Lord has made with joy and with happiness. Glory to God! It's a choice, man. No matter what you're going through, no matter what it looks like, you got to choose to have joy. You got to choose to be happy. And you know, the reality is, there's something I've been teaching for 30 years. There's a space between stimulus and response. You know, we live in a world where misinformation is just as powerful as information, so people will lean on misinformation and they'll follow it like it's real. But the reality is, when you get stimulated with something, I want you to hear it. You have an opportunity, instead of responding to it immediately, instead of drawing your emotions into it immediately, you have an opportunity to weigh that thing. So you got to go to the space between stimulus and response. Weigh it out before you respond. You know, if someone makes you angry, if there's a challenge in your life, you get a letter of foreclosure or eviction, or people are walking away— before you respond to those things, go to the space, talk to God. And there's always a peace there with him. There's always a directive there with him because he knows all things. So So there's a space between stimulus and response. Find it before you respond. It'll get you a long way, y'all. Y'all have a good day. Peace.
