You Got Change Coming! | Dr. Mike Woods | 11 Feb24

In this live worship service, Dr. Michael Lyris Woods leads a high‑energy, call‑and‑response session that interweaves repetitive praise chants, prophetic exhortations, and biblical teaching. The core message centers on a metaphor of a "bump"—a temporary hardship that should not become a breach but a catalyst for greater blessing. Woods declares that listeners have "change coming," urging them to anticipate progressive, God‑initiated transformation. He repeatedly affirms God’s abundant ability, the necessity of worship as the "fruit of your lips," and the presence of the Holy Spirit as "marvelous" and essential for receiving blessings. The sermon references Job 14:14 and Galatians 3:5‑9 to ground the teaching, while also employing cultural analogies (music eras, technology) to illustrate inevitable change. Throughout, the congregation is prompted to lift hands, chant, and verbally affirm statements such as “Your presence is all that we need,” reinforcing a participatory worship atmosphere. The service concludes with a call to share the message online and a prayer for the word to be accepted.

Oh God, mend every broken heart, every broken and contrite spirit. God, you said in your word, a broken and a contrite heart, you would never despised.
Oh, you in a good place if your heart is broke. You in a good place if you got some pain, cuz he said, I'll never reject you. His arms are open.
Come on, the worship girls worshiping.
Give him the fruit of your lips. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings he has perfected praise.
Thank you, Lord.
Come on, worship him. Come on, worship him. We give you glory, we give you glory, and we honor your great name, God. Beside you there is no other. You rule in the unknown.
We answer Yes, God, I'll say that.
I'll say it, Lord. The Spirit of the Living God says to tell you little ones, he says, my little ones, many of you have experienced a bump a bump, a bump. And that's simply what it was. It wasn't a full-blown accident. It was just a bump. It was just a tap. And he said to say to you, it is not as big as it appears, but it's just a bump, says the Lord. And the Lord says to tell you, don't allow a bump to create a breach. For many of you have allowed a bump, just a small fraction, just a small infraction in the mindset in your life to cause a breach between you and your purpose. And you're choosing, said the Lord, depression. You're choosing to walk in despondency, said the Lord. And the Lord said the bump cannot create a breach between you and the blessing. For I bumped you to see how you react. I bumped you to see if you still could worship in the midst of the bump.
Yeah, I bumped you to see if you still praise me with a bump, to see if you still be on fire with a bump. Bump to see if you still trust me with a bump. I just bumped you. I let it bump you. Yeah, it may sting, it may hurt, but it's just a bump.
And I say unto you, don't let it cause a breach between you and the blessing, said the Lord. You must choose the blessing over the breach. The Lord said you must choose the blessing over the breach. You can either be separated from him or walk through this in him. I'll say it again: you can even be separated from him or you can walk through this in him.
And he says to tell you, if you walk through it in it Yes, yes.
I will release the blessing. I will release the promise.
I'll show you things your eyes have never seen. I'll cause you to hear things your ears have never heard. I'll cause you to walk out things you've never walked out. I'll cause your feet to tread upon soil it has never walked upon. Walk through this bump, but it's just a bump, and it didn't come to kill you. It didn't come to destroy you. For I'm with you, said the Lord. I'll never leave you, and I'll never forsake you. For this is my promise concerning you: lo, I'll be with you ways, even now and until the end of the age.
I'm with you.
I am for you.
I have you covered.
I got this.
God says, I got this. I bought you to make you better. I bought you to bless you. I bought you to make you bigger. Not to breach you, not to breach you.
We bless you, God, and we honor you, and we give you glory. We bless your great name. We bless your great name. Come on, give God praise.
Come on, give him praise for his word. Hallelujah! Give him praise for his goodness. Come on, come on, thank him.
Thank him that the bump is just a bump. Come on, you ought to clap your hands and thank him. You separated your own self. God said, I never left you, I'm here. Come on, praise him for the blessing. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Lord, we bless you.
Give you praise.
Ah, God, we love you.
Thank you, Lord.
Ah, God, we bless you.
We bless you.
Oh my God, today Oh my God, today.
Yeah, I heard that, God. And the Lord said to tell you, you going to bounce back from this bump better.
Yeah, yeah, take that, devil! You going to bounce back from the bump better. God from Zion, let that I got somebody shouting, I'm gonna bounce back better! Good God Almighty, I'm gonna bounce back better! You hit me with your best shot, but I'm gonna bounce back better, better than I went down, better than when you hit me, better than when it hurt me. I'm coming back better, I'm coming back stronger. I'm coming back with power. I'm coming back more anointed. Somebody shout better! Some of you don't realize that the devil hit you with his best shot and you're still here. You ain't crazy. You're still standing. You didn't lose your mind. He hit you with everything he had, and you still alive. I know I need you to bless him, 'cause you're coming back better. Oh God, this ain't for everybody, this just for the people like me that's been bumped. It's for the people like me, that the enemy has hit them on the left and on the right, trying to take you out and take you down. But the devil is a liar. Devil, you better back up. I'm going to bounce back better.
Oh God, we give you glory. Somebody just shouted better, better, better, better, better, better, better, better. Come on, better, better, better, better, better.
You're not saying it better. Better, better.
You better get that in your spirit, cuz the devil has convinced you that the way it is now is the way it's going to be.
But devil, you a liar. I'm coming back better. When I was little—
oh God, I see that, I see it. Thank you, Holy Spirit. When I was little, I had this blowup up. Think it was Bozo the Clown, and you would blow it up and it would have weight in the bottom. And every time I would hit it, it would go back, but every time I hit it, it always came back again. Glory to God.
And then I just thought about that. I never could knock Bozo down. Glory to God. I'm telling you right now, you're made of some tough stuff. You've already survived the worst. You've already been through hell and high water. What makes you think you're not coming out of this? You going to bounce back like that bull on the ground, and you're coming back better than you was. So bring it on, devil, I'm coming back better. Jesus, glorious King. Oh God, I love you.
God, I love you. God, I love you.
The bump wasn't to breach you, it was to bless you.
God said, I bumped you to bless you. Yes, God, I bumped you to bless you. I bumped you to bless you. I bumped you to bless you.
It ain't over.
We serve an incredible God who is able to do exceeding abundantly and above all we can think or say, to ask according to the power that works in us. We give you glory, God. You're so amazing.
Thank you, Jesus. And we bless you and we honor your name, God.
Thank you, Jesus.
You're so good. You're so kind.
Father, bless this word.
Let us experience the light, the illumination, and the intelligence of the Holy Ghost today. Have your way, Father.
Have your way, Lord.
Have your way, and we'll give you praise, and we'll give you glory. We thank you for the light, the illumination, and the intelligence of the Spirit of God. For real, superimpose it upon us.
And God, let us hear from you.
And as your word is released, may we see you more clearly, walk with you more nearly. Hallelujah. Love you more dearly.
Hallelujah.
Now, Lord, let the words of my mouth, the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight.
God, give me strength to preach your word, and we give you praise now. In Jesus' name.
Amen. Come on, clap your hands and give him a blessing.
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Do me a favor really quick, get your phone out, go to your YouTube channel. We're streaming live on YouTube only right now, and share that on your Facebook pages. Everybody, let's go and just share this really quick. This word needs to bless somebody today. Glory to God! In addition to you, praise his name. Job 14:14, we're going to read that. That is our foundational text for this teaching. Glory to God. And, uh, and we're trusting God that we're gonna get back to it. We got a lot of work to do before we get there, but we're gonna try to get back there today. I don't know about you, but I was glad when they said it to me, let us go into the house of the Lord. Glory to God. I'm glad to be here. I feel like Peter on the Mount of Transfiguration. Hallelujah! He said, it is good for us to be here. Hallelujah! Y'all believe that? Hallelujah! Thank God for Jesus. Glory to God. Job 14:14, you'll find these words. I'm going to read this and, uh, we're going to jump right into to this. Glory to God.
The Bible says, if a man dies—
hear this—
shall he live again? All the days of my warfare and service— hear this— he says, I will wait Till my change—
watch this, I'm reading out the Amplified—
and release comes. I'm gonna read it again because it's just all right to read the Bible. Amen.
If a man die, shall he live again?
All the days of my warfare and service, he says, I will wait Till my change and my release.
Glory to God.
Comes.
Here's what I want to talk about. I put the topic on this.
I just want to tell you real quick, and, and I'm kind of digressing because yesterday as I was studying, the Lord took me this way. So I'm not even in the series I've been teaching nowhere, but just say this with me. Say, I got change coming.
I got change coming.
Come on, say it again. Say, I got change coming.
I got change coming.
Now look at somebody next to you and say, I got change coming.
I got change coming.
Now look at them and tell them, you got change coming.
You got change coming.
Tell them, yeah, you, you, you, you got change coming. Glory to God.
Amen. I find it interesting the Lord released that prophetic word before I preach this, because many times when we get bumped, we feel like life is over, we feel like everything has come to an end. Let me submit this to you: nothing is ever as big as it first disappears.
I don't care how it looks, it's never as big as it looks. Matter of fact, if you look back over your shoulder, some of the things that you thought were life-ending, some of the things you thought you wouldn't make it out of, you made it out. Oh, come on, man. I know ain't the only one got a testimony that God has brought me out of some stuff I didn't think I was I was going to get out of. And then he's brought me through some things that I thought, well, this just it, I might as well throw in the towel now. Glory to God. But every time I decided to do that, God said, sir, you can't throw in the towel, you still got stuff to do. I'm gonna throw the towel back at you. That's how much he loves us. You throw in the towel, he throw it back. I said you keep fighting, you keep going because you're gonna win. Are y'all hearing this? That's not somebody said keep going, you're gonna win. So the bump didn't come to kill you, the bump came to make you better. It didn't come to breach you, to separate you from God, it came to make you better. You got change coming. Let me make this a little more clearer for you. You never go to the grocery store and your bill is $10 and you pay with a $20 and you walk away. No, you stand there because you want your $10 back. Y'all don't got to say nothing. 10 may not seem like a lot, but it's yours, right? And what you got in that buggy only cost $10, not $20. You want your change, and let them act like they ain't gonna give you your change. Excuse me, ma'am, uh, I gave you a $20. You wait on your change.
Job said it here.
He said, all the days of my appointed time, I'ma wait on change. So it may not be coming the way you want it to come, but all I'm gonna tell you today, you got change coming. Don't you leave the counter until you're transformed, until you see the change in your life. Let me say this really quick about change. Change is inevitable. It doesn't matter who you are. You could be Buffy from Buckhead or Bonquifa from Bankhead. It doesn't matter who you are, change is going to find you. Y'all hear me? Glory to God. Change is going going to come. I often think about the music industry. When you look at the music industry, the music changes so much over time. You can go all the way back to the '50s. In the '50s, what you had was basically Beatles blasphemy. Everybody was blaspheming the Beatles. You go back and look at them old Beatles tapes, them people will see the Beatles and be passing out in the spirit of the Beatles. I'm talking about serious, they were gone, man. And then we went from the '50s to '60s, it's a change, a change. In the '60s you had Elvis. People loved Elvis so much they were falling out in the spirit of Elvis, and they loved him so much some people still think he alive.
Wow.
I didn't tell you, there ain't but one King that got up. His name is Jesus. Elvis is gone. He's gone. Glory to God. The king is dead. Glory to God. But they love— but then the music shifted again, went from Elvis Pelvis, from Beatles Blasphemy, to the '70s. You had Earth, Wind Fire taking you higher.
See, somebody don't know about Earth, Wind Fire.
Hallelujah. Earth, Wind Fire. And look how y'all looking. Well, what you talking about that for, Apostle? You was supposed to be saying, listen, I'm gonna tell you something, man. You got to have appreciation for all things, glory to God. But Earth, Wind Fire was good music, good wholesome music. But then it went from Earth, Wind Fire taking us higher in the '70s, changed, I would say change, then it went into, glory to God, the '80s, which was the love song era.
Hallelujah.
I think everybody in here probably was created to, or have created something to Luther.
Y'all ain't got to say nothing.
And I'm talking about the big Luther, not the, not the one with the cherry curl that didn't quite— it was just a straight curl that didn't do much. Glory to God. Big Lupa, don't you remember I told you? Y'all see, look, y'all remember, y'all remember, right?
Y'all remember the song.
But then you had some other stuff in the '80s too. You had some craziness in that shift. You have, you, you had people like R. Kelly who was introduced to the world, who's talking about ain't nothing wrong with a little bump and grind. And now we— and we know everything's wrong, right?
Everything.
Y'all got to say that.
Everything.
With even just a look.
Yes, look.
Come on.
But then we went to the '90s, we had the hip-hop era.
Y'all hear this?
Yeah, yeah.
And then hip-hop start going crazy throughout this era. First hip-hop had a wholesome trend to it where it told a story about life and where people came from. And then you have people writing lyrics like, I'mma kill the police, I chopped up with a machete till her brain spilled out like spaghetti. That's craziness. Somebody said change.
Change is inevitable.
Listen, I remember a computer was big as this whole state. Now this is a computer.
Yeah, right.
Y'all hearing this?
It's a change. It's interesting to me that everything around us changes, but those of us who are in God, we want to stay the same. We don't want to embrace change. We don't want to increase. We don't want to grow. But change is inevitable. And watch this, God has a progressive change in store for you. Say progressive change. So since change is inevitable, you need to just make up in your mind you're not going to fight it. Stop fighting change and change. Are y'all hearing this? So you got to decide that you don't have to accept your life the way it has been. And I'm going to receive the change that has occurred. See, some changes we don't like because it takes us out of our comfort zone. Yes, sir.
That's true.
But a lot of times when that change shows up, again, it's just a bump, but it's to introduce you to a new level of blessing. Oh boy. So let's, let's just start here. Go to Galatians 3, uh, verses 5 through 9.
Glory to God.
Hallelujah. Because I want, I want you to understand how God desires to bless you and how he desires to bring positive, progressive change in your life. Touch yourself, say God I'm gonna say it. God desires to bless me. So Galatians 3, watch this. Then does he who supplies you with his marvelous Holy Spirit— so wait a minute, most of us in this room and many watching, we claim we have the Holy Spirit in our life, that he who is God in us has been supplied by the Father to walk with us. How many of you, I mean, you could attest to that, that the Holy Spirit is in me? He's God in us, right? Now watch what happens though. We have him. First of all, it says he's marvelous, which means everything he— I do with him, it should leave me in awe.
It should cause me to marvel.
It says that he can do things that I humanly cannot do, so that means I gotta really get in line with him so he can let me see his marvelous works.
Glory to God. Now, because the next time it ain't gonna be that nice. All right, thank you. And be quiet. Glory to God. We children have to learn how to sit in church and be quiet. When I was growing up, I told y'all the church was the ministry. We had to sit down and be quiet and listen.
That's right.
When the children's church— we went to Sunday school, we came in the sanctuary.
Word.
Are y'all hearing this?
I think I turned out all right. I ain't never been in Judah's church. Glory to God, I turned out pretty decent. Glory to God. We gotta learn how to just sit and listen.
They need— if they just sit in the classroom at school, they can sit and listen to the word. Amen. Say marvelous. Say the Holy Spirit is marvelous. Listen, he will cause you to marvel when you team up with him.
Are y'all hearing this?
When you align with him, he'll perform acts that you can't do. Amen. So he's marvelous, and watch this, he works powerfully.
