This is a short YouTube cooking demo (Chocolate Coconut Energy Balls) featuring Dr. Colin Race from Feed Integrative Health Group working with children to make energy balls. The video lists ingredients (half a cup of walnuts, almonds, and cashews; dates; hemp hearts; cocoa; honey; coconut oil; salt; vanilla; water; shredded coconut for coating), shows the process (grind nuts and hemp hearts to a powder, add pitted dates and blend to a dough, then add cocoa, coconut oil, honey, salt, vanilla and some water), and finishes by rolling tablespoon-sized portions, coating them in coconut. The recipe yields about 30 balls.

Hi, everybody. I'm Dr. Colin Race with Feed Integrative Health Group. And we're back again making some yummy, delicious snacks with the kids. Today we're demonstrating how to make chocolate coconut energy balls, one of our favorite treats and also pretty delicious and pretty nutritious. We've got all of our ingredients portioned out over here, plus some others. We're going to start with some nuts. So we've got half a cup of walnuts and almonds and cashews. We have dates, we have hemp hearts and cocoa. To that we're going to add some honey, some coconut oil, some salt and water and then we'll roll them in the coconut afterwards. All right, we're ready to start. Are you guys ready?
Yes. Yes.
Okay, here we go. All right, starting with our food processor, we're going to put everything in the nuts and the hemp hearts. Just with those ones to begin, we're going to process those up into a fine powder. Then we'll begin adding the other ingredients. The next step, we're going to add the dates into the powdered nuts. Now the key piece of information to remember here is that we want to make sure that we've taken the pits out of the dates before putting them into the food processor. Alright, Calvin, go ahead. Perfect. Now we're going to blend it all together until it's a nice doughy consistency. We're ready for our next step. The dates are already incorporated. Now it's time to add all the flavoring ingredients as well. So we've got the cocoa, the coconut oil, the honey, the salt, the vanilla and a bit of water. So we're not going to do that all on the video, but. Ashton, are you going to help me add the cocoa into the food processor?
Yes.
Thank you. Okay, help me pick it up. Yeah, dump it in.
Me too dirty.
Perfect. Thank you. Let everything else and then we'll be right back. And we have our dough finished here. It's time to roll it into balls. We've got a few done already. The process is easy, of course. You just take about a tablespoon's worth of the dough, roll it in your hands, put it in the coconut, cover it up, boom. All done. We'll finish these up in a minute. We'll probably get about 30 balls from this recipe and then we'll start eating. Do you guys like these balls?
Yes. Yes, yes, yes.
They're delicious. Thank you very much, everybody for watching. We'll see you.
