Transformative Journey with Sayana Medical: Stacey's Story

This is a first-person testimonial by Stacey describing her year-long experience with Sayana Medical after attending a talk by Dr. Sayana. Stacey recounts symptoms she attributed to perimenopause (fatigue, weight gain, sleep trouble), how she chose the program despite initial concerns about cost and unfamiliarity with functional medicine, and emphasizes the program's proactive, educational approach and ongoing outreach. She reports substantial outcomes: nearly 30 pounds lost, improved energy and sleep, and multiple lifestyle changes; she strongly recommends Sayana Medical and advocates for the team.

Hi, my name is Stacey, and a year ago, I was at my wit's end. I was feeling overweight and tired, and my body was going through a lot of changes that I just did not understand. And I had a suspicion this was tied to perimenopause and aging. And I had heard Dr. Sayane speak at a women's conference, and I decided I needed to find out more about what she was doing. I went onto her website immediately. Everything started resonating with me. I did a program, and then immediately, as soon as I met with Dr. Saiana, I felt like this was the right program for me. I would highly recommend Sayana Medical because they really care a lot about me as a person. Before working with Cyana Medical, I was feeling very run down, very tired. I was actively looking for someone to help me for help on the Internet. Late at night, I couldn't sleep. I was gaining a lot of weight, and I really just did not know what was going on with my body. After I did my initial kickoff with Dr. San as me, I realized that a lot of the topics they were talking about really resonated with me, especially around sleep and weight gain. Those are two things that I think a lot of women my age or who are in perimenopause are facing. And that became a real issue for me. And when I heard that those were topics that she very specifically covered, I felt like this is the time that I need to just go the next step. And every step felt like it's just one more little step. I never felt pressured to join the entire program. So there were two things that may have prevented me from getting started. First was the cost. But they did work with you. And once they broke down the cost and, and we found some ways to make it work with my insurance, then I felt a lot more confident in moving forward. And the other thing that was originally a little nerve wracking for me was I really didn't understand the concept of functional medicine. And so when I initially looked at the website and when I heard what type of medicine she was, I thought, oh, this is some spiritual healing stuff. I really didn't understand that it was based in this medical foundation and it was new to me. I spent my whole life doing very different, different kind of medicine and working with doctors who are very reactive, not proactive. So I was used to, I get sick, they go in, they write me a prescription. And so this whole process was very, very different for me. What surprised me the most about Sayana Medical and this entire program has been how much outreach and connection I've had with Dr. Sayana, Serena, the entire team. It's been really different as someone who has spent their whole life in traditional medicine, to have your doctor and your medical team following up with you, to ask how you're doing and touching base with you and connecting with you on a regular basis. Well, I have been a big advocate of Santa Medical ever since my experience started there. It has been this really amazing educational journey for me personally. I have lost almost 30 pounds. I've learned a lot about how my body works. I have found leap again, which is is very challenging for a perimenopausal woman. But really, it's just been educational. I have made a lot of lifestyle changes because it has been a learning process. And so I always have been a big advocate of this group since I've been working with them because I feel like they really understand what I want and need from a learning perspective. It's not just, here's a script, go away and call me in six months. So that is like one of the biggest differences and one of the big reasons I advocate. They're really working to help me change my life and not just reacting to something that's frustrating to you. It'd be very easy to write me a weight loss drug or help tell me to get surgery or tell me to do something like fast and easy fix. What they have invested in is a lifestyle change for me. And so I feel like that's a huge difference than I would see if I went to my advocating for them and telling all my friends about them, because I really feel so strongly that it's just so different from what we normally see in traditional medicine.
