GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro cause significant weight loss and can treat obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Serious side effects like gastric paralysis come from dosing too fast. Start at the lowest dose, stay there for four weeks, and only increase if weight loss stalls and side effects are gone.

Parent pickup line, which means parent pickup line lecture. Love this for us. So let's talk about GLP-1s. This is your Ozempic, semaglutide, Mounjaro, tirzepatide, all of these types of things. Um, game-changing in the world of healthcare, in my opinion. Obesity, even really being overweight, leads to so many medical problems— diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, all kinds of problems. So I love these medications, and I think that these medications are very well tolerated, and most patients do extraordinarily well on the medications. The key is, is titrating and dosing the medications appropriately and going to a healthcare provider who understands these medications and how they work and how to prescribe them so you do not get very sick, which are the things that you're seeing on the internet like this. It can cause your stomach to stop working and stomach paralysis and all of this stuff. Let me tell you something, that happens the vast majority of the time when the dosing is done incorrectly and it's done too quickly by someone that doesn't know what they're doing. So two criteria 3 criteria. Every single patient, number 1, every single patient must start at the absolute lowest dose of these medications. Doesn't matter how big you are when you start. And number 2, you do not go up on the dose unless you have been on one dose for a minimum of 4 weeks and you are no longer losing weight and you no longer have side effects on the dose you're on. If you meet those 3 criteria, you almost always can guarantee number 1, success, and number 2, very few side effects.
