5MT - Decide what kind of entrepreneur you want to be
30 Jan 2026 · 1 min
A short podcast episode (5MT) by Dr. Nneka Unachukwu that contrasts being a 'Super Bowl–caliber' entrepreneur with being a 'small-time' entrepreneur. The episode emphasizes that physicians must learn entrepreneurship as a system, develop high-level skills through deliberate, repeated practice, leverage relationships, start from their current position while showing up as if aiming for the top, and seize opportunities. The episode opens with a promo for Dr. Unachukwu's audiobook 'Seven Figure Physician CEO' (entremd.com/7Figurebook).

If your business isn't working the way you expected, it's not because you're bad at business. It's because no one ever taught you how it actually works. We were trained to master algorithms in medicine, but when it comes to revenue teams and growth, we were never taught anything. We weren't even told to figure it out. We just assumed somehow we'd know. Like it would magically make sense. But it doesn't. The era of the seven Figure Physician CEO is here. And it's not about working harder. It's about learning entrepreneurship as a system. The same way you mastered ACLs and pals, you can master the algorithm of building a profitable scalable business. That's why I recorded the seven Figure Physician CEO audiobook. Whether you're building a medical or non medical business, and whether your goal is your first million, first 2 million, first 5 million, first 10 million. This is where the journey starts. There is no calvary coming to save us. We are the Calvary. So. So go get your audiobook now. Www.entremd.com 7Figurebook. And let's rewrite the narrative for physicians starting today.
Well, hello. Hello, my friends. Welcome to the five minutes week where I share one success habit. You can start practicing today that will change your life as a physician entrepreneur. Today we are gonna talk about deciding what kind of entrepreneur you want to be. Okay, now this comes from the super bowl halftime show that I just watched yesterday. Yesterday, that's when it happened. Now, I'm going to start off by saying this, though. I didn't watch it live. Number one, don't judge me. I don't watch football. I don't follow the NFL. I'm more of a European type person. I watch soccer, which is called football, and I'm not really into music. All right, so I am saying this from a, from purely a business standpoint, but I want to share with you some insights I gathered when I watched the replay. Okay, so I did watch it, but I want to share with you some things I got from it and how you should be making a decision what kind of entrepreneur you can be. So you can be an entrepreneur who's in the big leagues, who's the kind of person who will be called to the halftime show, or, or you can be someone who's a small time entrepreneur. And when I say this, I'm not really, you know, it's not a thing. It's not a, you know, competition, you know, an endless ambition or anything is just a push to become the best version of yourself. Like, be the best you can be. And if you're listening to this, chances are you're a physician and you've done this before, right? You. You have done this before. And so the decision is, am I going to be a Super bowl caliber type entrepreneur or. Or am I going to be a small time entrepreneur when there are big things that need to be done, are people going to call me or my company or nobody will even think about me. Okay. All right, so let me share some of those reflections. So the first one is this. You can do a lot in a short amount of time, right? You can do a lot in a short amount of time. And if you're going to be someone who's going to be a Super bowl caliber type entrepreneur, well, this is going to be, this is going to important. I'm going somewhere with this. You can do a lot. So when I watched the show, I'm like, this whole thing lasted less than 15 minutes. They put all these elements, blew the world away with their performance in less than 15 minutes. How come? How come? Which leads to my second reflection, which is you can only do a lot in a short amount of time if you become skilled at what you do. All right? If you become good, really good at what you do. Now, if you think about it, these guys have been artists for years and years and years and years and years. And when you're starting off as an entrepreneur, sometimes you're just like, man, I invested 20,000 this business, I want to get my 20,000 back, or 300,000, whatever your number is. And there's that short term goal, but you also want to have the long term goal of I am going to work on my craft, I'm going to work on what I do, I'm going to work on how I lead my team, I'm going to work on how I market and stuff like that so I can become that very skilled person who can get a lot done in a short amount of time. Okay? And that comes from my third reflection, which is becoming skilled comes from practicing a lot. A lot for a long time. A lot for a long time, right? So this is not about putting the minimum amount of effort. This is about putting a lot of effort in and you know what you're doing. You're like, I'm, I'm preparing for the big leagues. I'm preparing for the big leagues. So the things I need to do as an entrepreneur, I become really good at them. I become good at attracting clients or patients or customers. I become really good at serving them. I become really Good at, you know, sharing out testimonies. I become really good at speaking. I become really good. Like, these are all critical elements, but it's gonna take a lot of practice. So every day we hold back, we're robbing ourselves of the opportunity to get ready for the big leagues, right? The fourth observation is relationships matter. Like, I don't know. I don't know, right? I don't know if Dr. Dre was the person who got the bid and then invited all the other guys. But regardless, he's touched all those lives, right? And those people, you know, Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dogg and the rest of them, they maintain their relationship with him. Your relationships matter. It could take you to the super bowl show. Like, literally, your relationships matter. So they matter. Maintain them. They will create unbelievable opportunities for you. Okay, fifth, reflection. Start from where you are. But show up like somebody who is going all the way to the top. Start from where you are. So don't say, oh, I can't do it. Like, no, Start from where you are. That's your practice. That's you putting in the reps. That's you doing the work. Start from where you are. But understand from the beginning, I'm going to the top. So you show up that way. Your work ethic is that way. You embrace new things is that way.
Right?
Number six, when you're given an opportunity, like they were given an opportunity, kill it. Kill it. Like, do a fantastic job. Don't take any opportunity lightly. Do a great job. Dr. Dre said something in an interview I'm thinking before the show, he's like, we're going to do this, and we're going to open the door for hip hop to be more mainstream in the NFL and all these other places. Because I don't think there's been a show like that ever. So you're opening, you doing a good job opens doors for you, but it also open doors. Opens doors for people like you, right? So when you have an opportunity, nail it. When you have an opportunity to be a guest on someone's podcast, don't just wing it. Prepare for it. Understand, I'm getting ready for the big leagues. I'm a Super bowl halftime show caliber entrepreneur, right? Put in the reps. If you have to do a masterclass, execute it with precision, right? You have to speak on stage. Execute it with precision. This is what you do. Okay, so what do I want you to do? I want you to make a decision, a quality decision. And on this one, you know what? You can actually DM me and let me know. Are you going to be a Super bowl halftime show caliber entrepreneur or are you going to be a small time entrepreneur? Make the decision again. It's not about pride and ambition. It's about you becoming the best version of yourself. This decision changes everything in your business. Okay? So there you have it.
