30 Jan 2026 · 0 min
Short podcast/transcript segment by Dr. Nneka Unachukwu aimed at physician entrepreneurs. Explains that physicians were not trained in business, frames entrepreneurship as a learnable system analogous to medical algorithms, and promotes her audiobook 'Seven Figure Physician CEO' and related resources. Encourages listeners to adopt a systems approach to building scalable, profitable businesses.
If your business isn't working the way you expected, it's not because you're bad at business. It's because no one ever taught you.
How it actually works.
We were trained to master algorithms in medicine, but when it comes to revenue teams and growth, we were never taught anything. We weren't even told to figure it out. We just assumed somehow we'd know. Like it would magically make sense. But it doesn't. The era of the seven Figure Physician CEO is here. And it's not about working harder. It's about learning entrepreneurship as a system. The same way you mastered ACLs and pals, you can master the algorithm of building a profitable scalable business. That's why I recorded the Seven Figure Physician CEO audiobook. Whether you're building a medical or non medical business, and whether your goal is your first million, first 2 million, first 5 million, first 10 million. This is where the journey starts. There is no Calvary coming to save us. We are the Calvary. So. So go get your audiobook now. Www.entremd.com 7Figurebook. And let's rewrite the narrative for physicians starting today.
Welcome to the five minute tweak where I share one success habit. You can start practicing today that will change your life as a physician entrepreneur. Today we are gonna talk about the three questions you should ask yourself at the end of every month. Now, if you've listened to the podcast for a while, you know that I talk about the unexamined life not worth living, right? I didn't make that up. That was Socrates. But if you go month to month without stopping, without reflecting, without analyzing, without evaluating, it is possible for you to not have 12 months in a year, but to have the same month that you've lived 12 different times. So if you want to experience a year with you have 12 years in one, you can. But the secret to that is treating every month like a year where in the beginning you make plans for it, at the end you evaluate what happened and make new plans for the following month. Okay, so I'm going to show you three questions that I always ask myself at the end of every month. And the beautiful thing about this podcast episode will not be you listening to it. It would be you taking pen and paper, going to sit down, asking yourself these questions, being honest about it. Ok? And this is based on your business. So question number one. What worked? This question is so powerful and it's so important that you actually stop and take stock of what worked. Because if you don't, you will have the impression that Nothing is working in my business. Nothing is working out well, I've been doing all this stuff. I have nothing to show for it. You have to actually stop and take a look at what actually worked out. Okay, so maybe you don't have 700 clients, but maybe you got your first client, right? Maybe your plan was to do half a million, right? But you didn't do half a million. You did 250,000. Well, woe is you, maybe. And so I'm saying this to say, even if you didn't hit your target, there is something to be grateful for. There's something to acknowledge even in that, okay, and some of you knocked it out the park. You maybe even did better than you thought you would. But you're going to stop. You're going to look like, what happened with our revenue, what happened with our patients or clients? What kind of wins did we get for people? What kind of new networks did I make? What kind of new connections, new referral sources have I created in my business? What new opportunities did I get? What new platforms did I get to get on that I didn't have access to before? What new team member did I bring on that is making a huge difference? What new process did I implement in my business that's making a difference? You have to take note of all of those. Like, literally sit. Sometimes I come up with 20 different things in a month. It is a muscle. If you start using it, you'll be surprised what you'll be able to pull out. And I started with this question because when you start with this, you start off from, wow, we had an amazing month. And so when you have to answer the next question, you're not getting depressed about it. Okay? So the very first thing, what worked? And I will encourage you, pull out your note app on your phone, or pull out pen and paper and you actually write them down. Don't say, oh, yeah, I know about that. No, this is critical. The second question is, where did I hold back? Because a lot of times it's not so much that we don't know what to do, that we make the plans and we get into the month and then we decide not to do them. Okay. Or we decide to do it at half measure and things like that. So take a look. Have a come to Jesus meeting with yourself. Like, where did I hold back? I said I was going to do a Facebook Live every week and then I did two for the month. I said I was going to be on 10 podcasts for the month, and then I was on three. I said, I was going to reach out to four, five event organizers to ask to speak on their stages, and I only reached out to one. Where did you hold back? Where? You could have showed up in your authority, but you showed up apologetically. Where did you hold back? Okay, and this is not for judgment, for you to feel bad or any of that. That's for you to go like, okay, do I want to do this again next month, or do I want to do next month? Like, I mean it. Okay, so that's the second question. The third question is, what is my commitment for the next month? Okay, and your commitment? When I say commitment, I'm not referring to the result. I'm referring to the process that creates the result. Okay? You don't have direct control over the result. You have direct control over what you do, and that has control over your results. So your commitment is not to the result, is to your process. In a way, it's to the result. But you see what I mean. It's to the process. So are you making a commitment that. Okay, for my visibility, I'm going to be on this number of podcasts, I'm going to do this number of joint ventures, I'm going to reach out to this number of referral sources. That's what I'm going to do. Are you going to stop being apologetic in the way you talk about your message and what you can do for your patients or you can do for your clients? Are you deciding that, you know, I'm going to get this team member on board. Now, you have seven staff and you have no manager and everything is going crazy. Are you deciding that you're going to do that? What is your commitment? What is my commitment for the next month and not results process. What am I committing to that no matter what, this is what I'm going to do? Okay, These are three questions that if you ask yourself, it will just help you people. Sometimes people don't realize this till December 31st, but you get to do this every single month, and you get to get recharged and refocused and recommitted, and you start creating unbelievable wins in your business. Okay? So very simple. Three questions. What worked? Where did I hold back? What is my commitment? Ask yourself. Take pen and paper, sit down, answer them, and if you'll do this, you'll find out that the next 30 days can absolutely be your best 30 days ever. Alrighty, There you have it.
