If your business isn't working the way you expected, it's not because you're bad at business. It's because no one ever taught you how it actually works. We were trained to master algorithms in medicine, but when it comes to revenue teams and growth, we were never taught anything. We weren't even told to figure it out. We just assumed somehow we'd know. Like it would magically make sense. But it doesn't. The era of the seven Figure Physician CEO is here. And it's not about working harder. It's about learning entrepreneurship as a system. The same way you mastered ACLs and pals, you can master the algorithm of building a profitable scalable business. That's why I recorded the Seven Figure Physician CEO audiobook. Whether you're building a medical or non medical business, and whether your goal is your first million, first 2 million, first 5 million, first 10 million, this is where the journey starts. There is no Calvary coming to save us. We are the Calvary. So. So go get your audiobook now. Www.entremd.com 7Figurebook. And let's rewrite the narrative for physicians starting today.
Hi docs. Welcome to the Entre MD podcast where it is all about helping amazing physicians just like you, embrace entrepreneurship so you can have the freedom to live life and practice medicine on your terms. I'm your host, Dr. Una.
Well, welcome back to another episode of the podcast. As always, super excited that you're here. So excited to hear about all the stories of life change and things that doctors have been doing because they are listening to this podcast. And of course, thank you so much for sharing, for liking, for posting your comments on social media, for giving me feedback about, about how this podcast is changing your life. Now I wanna give a special shout out to Dr. Remy who gives us a glowing five star review on itunes and says one of the most inspirational speakers I know. So, Dr. Remy, I'm gonna have to frame that and put that somewhere in my room because that is so kind of you to say that. And I'm glad that you're enjoying the podcast and thank you so, so, so much for leaving that review. Now, if you are a faithful listener and you're like, oh my God, this has changed my life, I do want you to take a moment and go to itunes or you listen to podcasts and leave us a review and I would love to hear your feedback. If there's something you've done, if there's something you've changed in your life because of the podcast, I'd love to hear about it. So pray tell. Okay. All right. So today we are going to be looking at something really interesting. And you're probably going, like, what kind of title is that? But you're going to enjoy this because this is going to be one of those episodes that set you to look at your life and your business completely differently. It would help you overcome issues like, I don't feel motivated a lot. I don't feel inspired. It will help you take care of all of that. Okay? So now if you know anything about me, you know that I am not a shopper. I do not like to shop at all. And I think Amazon was made for me. So I can delegate online shopping, and someone can just show me a card and I can click order or buy or whatever it says, and then I'm done. I do not like going into a store. I do not think a nice afternoon will be an afternoon spent in the mall. Like, I'm just not that kind of dog or girl. So I want you to imagine me walking into a store, and I see these beautiful red bottoms, right? And I'm like, wow. And I look at it, and it's a $3,000 price tag for a pair of shoes. And I'm going, like, I'm not paying for those shoes, right? Like, I'm not paying three grand for a pair of shoes. Now, I really, in that moment, have two options. Option number one is I pay for the shoes and I take the shoes out of the store, or I decide I'm not going to pay for those shoes and I have to leave the shoes in the store. Okay? I might go like, okay, Dr. Una, where are you going with this? Just roll with me. Now, if I take the shoes and I refuse to pay and I try to walk out of the store, that is called shoplifting, right? And I could be arrested for that. But the truth of the matter is, we do this in life all day, every day, where we have a dream. This is the kind of business I want to build, or this is the kind of life I want to live. And we look at the price for it, and we say, I'm not paying that. It doesn't take all that. I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to sacrifice to do that. I'm not going to go through being out of my comfort zone to get that. I'm not doing that. But we still want to take the dream and walk out the store. That is called shoplifting. Okay? When you look at a dream, when you look at something you want, when you look at someone you want to become. You also need to look at the price tag, right? So maybe you're like me, whenever I do shop, right? I look at the dress, I'm like, it's a pretty dress. I go to the price tag. I'm like, do I want to pay this for? That is the same thing with our dreams. Don't just look at the dreams in isolation. Look at the dream, look at the business. Look at financial freedom. Look at it, look at the price tag. And then make the decision. You have one of two decisions. Number one, I will pay for this. And if you pay for it, you get to take it out the store, or there's no reason why this should cost that much. I'm not going to pay for it. But if your decision is I'm not going to pay for it, you also have to be willing to leave that dream in the store. You can't take it out. If you try to take it out, you'll be quote, unquote, arrested. Okay? So maybe you're here and you're like, I've worked too hard for so long. I deserve financial freedom. That's a dream. Maybe there's a product or service you've always wanted to create. There's this business you want to make. That's a dream. And today, what I'm going to show you is the price you need to pay for your dreams. So you can look at that dream and you can look at the price tag, which I'm going to show you right now. And you can say, I'm going to pay for it. I'm taking out the store, or I'm not going to pay for it. But I'm also crystal clear that what that means is I cannot have that dream. Okay? So this is going to be so much fun. Okay? Because even though I call this doctors that shoplift, you are an entre md. You. You don't shoplift. Okay? So you're just gonna be like, thank you so much for the clarification. Now I know what I need to do, and I'm gonna go do what I need to do. Okay? All right. So, number one, the first price for your dream is belief. It's belief. And the reason why I wanna spend a moment talking about this is because this was an issue with me for so long. I was like, these other people can be successful at that kind of business, but I can't.
The.
This other person can be a speaker like that, but I can't. This kind of person could generate this kind of revenue in Their business, but I can't. This kind of person can build a great team so that they can build a business that does a lot, but they're not necessarily doing a whole, whole, whole lot on their own. And I'm like, people can do that, but I can't. And I was an adult, I'm Talking like late 30s before one day I sat down and I'm like, you know what? Your imagination is free. Like there is no restriction, There is no limitation on your imagination. Which means if this is a kind of business that I want, then I can just believe it. I can imagine it. Why in my imagination would I say I can't have that? Why? I mean, like, I can imagine it's, it's free. I mean, it sounds so simple, but it was such a profound discovery. But yeah, it's free. So the vision you have, the dream you have, believe it, believe it. You might go like, yeah, Dr. Una. It's easy to say, but I don't believe it. Like, I don't think I can pull this off. I don't think I'm the kind of person who can pull this off. So let me tell you a few things you can do. You need to build a relationship with your dreams, right? Build a relationship, paint a picture of it. Create a vision board. Sometimes people are like, that's woo, woo. I don't know what to tell you. This is what the most successful people on the planet do. Make a vision board, a visual representation of your dream. That's somewhere where you can look at it every day. I mean, you've heard my story about how I went to, you know, write my goals for. I think it was 2016. And when I look, when I was done writing it, I saw my 2015 goals and they were exactly the same. And the reason why they were exactly the same is because out of sight is out of mind. I didn't have a relationship with those goals. I didn't look at it every day. I didn't look at it with any kind of regularity. It hadn't become my subconscious thinking. So build a relationship with your goals. Put it on a vision board where you'll see it every day. If you're not a really crafty visual type person, then write it out. But look at it every day. Review it every day. Say it out loud as if it already happened. I run a multiple six figure business or I run a seven figure business. I have a fully engaged, well trained a team that helps me accomplish my mission. I mean, like you can say it. Okay, say it out loud and do that. So you hear me say things like, what I want to do is I want to help 80,000 doctors build profitable businesses, right? And I've been saying it for a year and a half at this point, and I say it every day. What am I doing? I'm building believability. When I first started saying, I was like, yeah, I'm going to say, because that's what I'm going to do. I don't know how I'm going to do it. I don't know how this is going to happen. But every passing day, it seems more and more possible. I download more and more strategies about how to do that. I download better ways to help and serve and all of that stuff. So build a relationship with your dreams. So you can build belief, but you can say it out loud. You can put it on a vision board even though your head is going like, I don't know how you think you can do that. I don't know how you think you can do that. Okay? So you can still have that belief in your heart with all the doubt in your head. And it's fine if you stay at it and you build that relationship. Day by day, your belief gets stronger. If you say, it doesn't take all that, what you're saying is, I want to leave my dreams in the store. Okay? So it does take you believing. It does take that. Okay? So that's number one. Number two, you have to make a commitment to learn. The bottom line is the you you are now cannot give you the dream you're looking at. You need to become another person. Okay? When I started out as an entrepreneur, super shy, socially awkward, introverted introvert, I needed to become another version of myself. So when I say become a different person, I don't mean become someone that's not authentic to you. This is authentic to you. But it's like you 2.0, you 3.0, you 4.0. You see what I mean? Like, an iPhone is still an iPhone. At its core. It stands for what it stands for, but it's gone through, what, 13 modifications, right? So you need to become a different version of you to get your dreams. The you you are now cannot give you those dreams. If you could, you would have done it already. Okay? So you need to learn. So we've heard us talk a lot about automobile university, right? So your podcasts, your books, your courses, you have to do this. And it's not so much a learn to learn. It's not acquisition of knowledge. That's not the essence. This is learn to change, learn to transform. Learn to do things differently. That's what the goal of the learning is. But you have to be willing to immerse yourself in the knowledge you need to become the person who can accomplish your dreams. And, yes, it will take that much. So number one is belief. Number two is learn. Number three is the discipline of execution. This is arguably one of the most important things. Okay, I cannot emphasize this enough. In fact, in working with people, whether it's on this podcast or the Facebook group or in Entre MD Business school or my private coaching clients, one of the biggest things I help them do is take action. Like, get out of your comfort zone, get out of inertia, and do something. So we talked about learning, but learning is useless if you won't do anything with it. The person who does some learning and takes a lot of action is going to run circles around. The person who is learning a lot, can say a lot, sounds really intelligent, but is not doing anything with it, okay? So you need to be that person who is into action, which means you do it messy, you do it scared, you do it even though it's imperfect, you do it excellently, which means you do the best with what you have. But you're relentless about taking action. Okay? You embrace living outside your comfort zone. So I joke about it. I say my permanent address is PO Box outside my comfort zone, because that's where all the magic happens. That's where you become the person that can get those dreams. That's where new doors open for you. That's where everything happens. Okay? So you need. It's the discipline of execution. Okay? So it's fancy for taking action, but discipline of execution, the fourth thing now, wow. If action is really really the thing, then this fourth thing is really, really, really, really, really, really, really the thing. And that is this. You got to get your environment right. You have to get your environment right. You are not going to be an eagle that functions as an eagle if you live with vultures. I just borrow that saying, okay? So I'm not saying the people in your life are vultures or you're a vulture, but see my point? If you're going to be a champion, you need to be in the midst of champions. If you're going to be a physician entrepreneur who's wildly successful, then you're going to have to be in the midst of people that are like that. You cannot be in the wrong environment and get the right results. Now, if you're a parent here, you have kids One of the things you protect the most is their friends, because that's their environment. That's who's going to shape them. It doesn't matter what things are like at home. If they have the wrong environment out there where they spend a huge chunk of their day anyway. So if you protect your children's relationships because you know it will have an impact on them, I want you to start protecting your relationships because it will have an impact on you. This right here is so easy to ignore it. It's like, you know, environment, okay, whatever, is so easy to ignore it, but it has the potential to radically, radically, radically, radically change your life. Okay? Radically. Now, this is one of the things, you know, when I launched the entremd business school, a lot of dogs were like, you know what? I don't really want to do the group. I want to work one on one. And I'm like, I can't wait for you to experience the power of the group. Because I had a group that I did, the very first cohort of the Freedom Formula Masterclass. And when it was over, they're like, wait a minute. So what happens? What happens to the group? The group goes away. We can't go away. We need to. Like, this is going to end. It was almost like a riot. It was almost like a riot. Okay? But I want you to look at it this way. This is an environment of people who will keep you inspired, who will keep you motivated. When you have those days where you feel down and feel discouraged, you have people who will tell you, no, ma', am, you got this. No, sir, you got this. Let's do this. Let's do this together. You will get to see the concepts you're learning acted out in many, many, many different ways by the different people in your group. And you can learn from what they're doing, and you can learn from their experiences. You can watch people navigate tough times. So when it's for tough times, you're like, yeah, apparently this is how, you know, things go, and this is how they handled it. I have some ideas on how to handle it. And you have that positive peer pressure. And, you know, people talk about entrepreneurship being lonely. And yes, entrepreneurship can be pretty lonely, but it doesn't have to be. You can have a community of people just like you. Entrepreneurship can be something where, especially in the physician world, where you're looked at as different or crazy, and sometimes there's even some shame around that, like, what am I really doing? So imagine being in a community where their fellow crazies like, you I mean, it's like fantastic. It's like, here I can be normal, you know, so you gotta change your environment. And that's one of the biggest, biggest advantages of the ENTREMD business school is that environment where we're all doing the same thing. We're all striving, we're all pushing to be better. We're all trying new things. We're all going out of our comfort zone. We're all trying this. Messy and scared, but we can do this. Okay? So your environment, your. The colleagues that in the physician entrepreneur space, those that will be your mentors, those that will be your coaches, all that kind of stuff, you want to control it. Don't let your environment happen to you. You decide what your environment will be like. Okay? All right, number five. Now, number five is amazing. And that's this, the fifth price for your dreams. You must be relentless. And the easiest way to describe that is you just don't go away because tough times are going to come. You're going to get knocked down. The important thing is that you don't stop. The important thing is that you don't stop. I don't know, but I had this impression and, you know, many people have this impression that entrepreneurship is supposed to be easy. Like, if you do it right, things will work out. But I mean, if you do it right, some things will still not go according to plan though, right? They still won't. You are going to have tough times. You are going to have times when things didn't work as well. You are going to have. Things will make you go, like, what am I even doing here? But whatever you do, don't stop. Okay? There are going to be tough times. I remember the first time I got this really nasty source one star review for my private practice. Oh, my gosh, I almost died. I was like, what? And it was one of those things, probably had a balance or something. I didn't want to pay it and just left this nasty review. But I was almost moved to tears. See, at that point, I was a new entrepreneur and I hadn't developed the thick skin that is required to thrive as an entrepreneur. And you don't develop the thick skin till you do. You know what I'm saying? So if you're not there yet, that's fine. I'm just saying that there's going to be opportunities for you to thicken your skin and take them. Don't shy away and don't quit. And, you know, but now I'm able to look at a one star review objectively go like, okay, based on what this person said, what do we need to fix? Do we have a system issue? Is there something we need to fix? Let's fix that. If it's just, you know, pure hate, you're like, okay, but you know, it is what it is and you know, let's just work on serving the clients that we do have and, and take it from there. Okay, so relentless. Relentless. I remember the first time I was like, you know, I'm going to do an online course, I'm going to do an online course and this is going to be great. So I created it, I recorded it. It was a power goals course. It was on goal setting, which is one of my favorite things to do. You know, it was on goal setting and how to do that, how to plan your day, master your time and all this kind of stuff. Did everything put it out there. I got one person to buy it. One person, One. And that was so disheartening because of course, like every dreamy eyed entrepreneur had big plans for that, you know, but you're going to have times where you get knocked down. You're going to get times when things didn't work according to plan. They're going to be times you set these big goals and you fall flat. But the price for your dreams is that you're relentless, is that you don't quit. You don't stop. You don't say, I can't do this. You stay through the thick and the thin. As an entrepreneur, you know, as a doctor, we have algorithms, right? You go from here to here to here to here. As an entrepreneur, think about it like spaghetti. It's just like zoos all over the place, right? But you need to be able to navigate that, to weather the storms, to not quit when it seems like it's not working, to not quit when it seems like it's not going according to plan, to stay with the process, to stay with it until it produces. That is the price for your dreams. Okay, so let's go back to the store. Okay, let's go back to the store and take a look. The price tag on that dream that you have, that price tag is I must believe, I must learn, I must have the discipline of execution, I must control my environment and I must be relentless. That's the price, the financial freedom you want, that's the price to build that business you always wanted to build. That's the price to create that movement you've always wanted to create. That's the price. So the question I have for you And I want you to ask yourself this, and I want you to be honest, okay? One of the worst things you can do is lie to yourself. I want you to be honest. Do you really want your dreams? Don't just say yes. The proof that you want your dreams is that you're willing to believe, you're willing to learn, you're willing to take action, you're willing to be in the right environment, and you're willing to be relentless. So I ask again, do you want your dreams? Do you want your dreams? If you say yes to those five steps, then you do. If you say no to those five steps, then you don't. But I want you to say yes. I want you to say yes and figure it out. Don't be a shoplifter, okay? Don't have the dream, know the price, refuse to pay the price, and try to walk out of the store with the goods. Don't be a shoplifter. The universe won't let you leave. If you won't pay the bills, it won't let you leave, okay? So your dreams are worth it. I want to encourage you to pay for them starting right now, okay? Starting right now, pay for your dreams. So that's what I got make a decision today. I'm going to do what it takes to have my dreams. I'm no longer going to be a shoplifter. And I will see you, my friend, on the next episode. Well, hey, docs. Now, before you leave, I just wanted to let you know that if you are like, I'm ready to believe, I'm ready to learn. I'm ready to take action. I am ready to put myself in the right environment where I'm around other relentless physician entrepreneurs just like me. Then I want you to check out the Entremd Business School is www.entremd.com business.
