If your business isn't working the way you expected, it's not because you're bad at business. It's because no one ever taught you how it actually works. We were trained to master algorithms in medicine, but when it comes to revenue teams and growth, we were never taught anything. We weren't even told to figure it out. We just assumed somehow we'd know. Like it would magically make sense. But it doesn't. The era of the seven Figure Physician CEO is here. And it's not about working harder. It's about learning entrepreneurship as a system. The same way you mastered ACLs and pals, you can master the algorithm of building a profitable scalable business. That's why I recorded the Seven Figure Physician CEO audiobook. Whether you're building a medical or non medical business, and whether your goal is your first million, first 2 million, first 5 million, first 10 million, this is where the journey starts. There is no Calvary coming to save us. We are the Calvary.
So.
So go get your audiobook now. Www.entremd.com 7Figurebook. And let's rewrite the narrative for physicians starting today.
Hi docs. Welcome to the Entre MD Podcast where it is all about helping amazing physicians just like you, embrace entrepreneurship so you can have the freedom to live life and and practice medicine on your terms. I'm your host, Dr. Una.
Well, hello everybody and welcome to another episode of the Entre MD podcast. I am always excited, so today is no different. I'm excited that you're here, I'm excited that you're listening, and I want to thank you so much for listening and for sharing and for letting me know how this podcast has made a difference for you. So. So I have something very funny to tell you. I hosted on TREMD Live, the Virtual Edition, last Saturday. So that's a few days ago as at the time of this recording and it was such a great experience. I'm gonna do a full debrief and tell you all about it and take you behind the scenes and all that. But it was such an amazing experience and I got up on Monday morning, pulled up my email and Buzzsprout, who is the host for this podcast, is like, congratulations on your 50th episode. And I' what? My 50th episode snuck up on me. I didn't know. I didn't celebrate. And you know, I celebrate everything, right? I celebrate every milestone because I believe that's what we need to do. We need to, you know, smell the roses. And that's kind of what propels us to keep going. So let me stop and say this. In your journey as an entrepreneur, I want to challenge you to take time every day during the week and just acknowledge how far you've come. So maybe you don't look like some other entrepreneur, but there are many things you weren't doing before that you're now doing. There are many things you used to run away from that you're now doing. There are many things used to say no to that you now say yes to. And you should celebrate all of those because that is progress and that is what keeps you moving. But anyway, here I am with my 50th episode and I'm like, all right, I have to figure out how to celebrate this some kind of way and pull out some lessons so that you can get something out of it and can celebrate. Okay. And what I discovered is I should share the power of saying yes. So today we're celebrating milestones and we're celebrating the 50th episode of the Entre MD podcast. And I want to show you the power of saying yes. Now, a lot of times we say things like, oh, of course I would say yes if I was more confident, if I knew more, if this was happening at a different time, if. And all of that kind of stuff. But the price for your dreams is saying yes, even though. Yes, even though I don't have all the money I need. Yes. Even though I don't have all the plans laid out. Yes, Even though I'm not quite sure how I'm going to accomplish this. Yes, Even though I'm scared spitless. Say yes, even though now you have the inner critic, you have the fear, you have the timing not being perfect, but you're gonna have to say yes. So many years ago, I was, you know, I was the doc in private practice. I had my own practice. Life was perfect. I mean, I was working a four day work week. I had every Friday off. So every weekend was a long weekend. And we were doing well. It was profitable. We were. We had started investing in real estate and doing all this other stuff. So it was great. It was really great. But in 2016, I had this rude awakening. Nothing happened on the outside, but on the inside, I knew that, you know, medicine as we had known it was gone. And if I was going to thrive in the times that were coming, I needed to change. And not just an itty bitty change, but a drastic change. Acquire new skills, do things I hadn't been doing before and stuff like that. And I'm like, okay, at this point, I had gotten away with being an introverted, introvert, shy. I worked hard in some areas to make up for the fact that I wasn't going to be social and all of that kind of stuff. But this right here that I was thinking I needed to do was going to throw me all the way out of my comfort zone. And I could have fought it, but for some reason I said yes. And so far out of my comfort zone, because we're talking. Don't just look at yourself as a pediatrician at Ivy League Pediatrics. Look at yourself as the CEO, which means you have to become great at working through people. You have to become great at setting the vision and setting direction and getting your whole team to work with you and getting them on your side and. And all of that kind of stuff. And I was like, you know, oh, my word. And it had to do with consulting and coaching and taking up things like that and speaking, and these are all things that I was like, I don't really want to do. But I said yes. I said yes. And I was like, I'll. I'll do what I need to do. And so not too long after that, I started researching. I started learning about speaking. I started learning about what a CEO does. I started learning all these things. And I got to an event, it was a speaking bootcamp, and I was like, yeah, speaking. I know nothing of that. Let's do it. So it was in Atlanta. I went for the event, and I got offered the opportunity to sign up for a speaking Mastermind. That was $43,000. Now, I had never spent any money on coaching. I didn't even know what the whole coaching thing was about. But I knew that if I did not master speaking, there was no way for me to get in the second phase of my career. I knew that, and I knew that I didn't want to be on stage, I didn't want to be speaking, but I had to. It was the price I had to pay if I wanted to get that second phase. That was the price I had to pay. So even though I was like 43 grand, I mean, like, and it was a 10 month mastermind, I'm like 4300amonth. That is insane. And so even though I'm like, how are we going to do that? And even though I was like, this can be the right time, or even though I was like, but I don't even have a business to throw this out. Like, there was no entre md. There was no. I didn't know any of this was going to happen. I'm like, I don't even have something to throw this out. I'm like, I don't. Maybe this is not the right time. But in spite of it being really expensive, in spite of it being at a time when I thought was not the right time, in spite of the fact that I was like, I work all these hours. I don't have time to go, you know, implement what these people are going to teach me, I said, yes. I said, it's scared. I said, it messy. I said, yes. And then that led to some things that led to some things that led to other things. And Entre MD was born. And when it was time for Entre MD to be born, my thing was, wait a minute. So I'm going to call myself a business coach. I mean, I imagine doctors looking at me and going, like, now you're a coach, too. Like, you've joined everybody else. That's a coach. I thought of the criticism. I thought about the naysayers. I thought about. I mean, Tony Robbins is a coach. How am I supposed to say I'm a coach? Like, you know, and, you know, so the compare trap. And. And I did all of that stuff. And I was. I was like, you know, truthfully, and I talked to a lot of doctors and the experiences. I was embarrassed by what I wanted to say. But of course, my passion for helping people, right, Because I'm like, I've already helped people unofficially start practices and all this other stuff and help them launch businesses. So, I mean, do I want to help them or do I want to just stay and focus on the naysayers? And so when it was time, I said yes, and the naysayers did come out. But I was able to help a lot of people, and that more than makes up for it. But anyway, I said yes. And then it's time to start putting out a lot of videos, getting on stages, talking, honing my message, and spreading the word that, hey, we're doctors, but we can build profitable businesses. We are doctors, but we can speak confidently on stage about what we do and spread our message and create movements that we went to medical school because we wanted to help. And we are just one skill away, that's business skills. From creating those movements that we always wanted to create, from creating those dreams that we always wanted to create, that we took all those dreams and put it in a box, the box of medical school, to residency, to work till you retire. And that box is not working. We can take the lid off and we can do what we set out to do in the first place. And I really embrace speaking, and it has opened so many doors for me. So many doors. And that's why for anybody I work with, speaking is something I drive everybody to do, because I'm like, you have to. There's no way to create a movement. There's no way to create a business that's a movement without it. So I said yes to that. And then I had an opportunity to do my first event, Entre MD Live 2019. I had never done an event like that before. I had some coaching clients. I had an email list, a really big quote, unquote. Okay, I'm being sarcastic here. Very big email list with 260 people on it. And I was like, well, let's do an event. And I'd never done an event. I didn't know how to pull off one. I didn't know anything about anything. And I started learning about it. And the time from when I decided to do the event to when I actually did it was about six weeks. Sounds so. Dr. Unish. It was about six weeks. And I was like, I'm going to throw everything I have at it. So I threw everything I had at it. And we had 47 doctors from eight states. 47 doctors from eight states. And it was phenomenal. And the execution was amazing, and I got so much great feedback from that. And that's when I launched my very first group program called the Freedom Formula Masterclass. And I had a number of doctors come in and sign up for it. And it was so amazing. It was almost like that was our. Our launch party, our Deb. It was so amazing. And I worked with those doctors, and the results they got were really off the chain. We're talking people who are like, oh, my God. Over the four months of that program, I increased my revenue 15 times. I watched doctors who were like, I don't have a business. And they're like, wait a minute. You mean that's a business? And they've stepped into entrepreneurship? And doors are. It was. It was so amazing. And it only happened because I said yes. I didn't know that will happen. I had no idea. There are so many great things on the other side of you saying yes, that if you saw them, you would never say no. So I said yes to that. And then In November of 2019, I had this thought, hmm, I should start a podcast. And I went to validate the idea. I went to the groups where, you know, I put a lot of content out, and I was like, what is your Preferred method, you know, YouTube videos, podcasts and all of that. And 90% of them said podcasts. I'm like, are you guys kidding me? So on the 10th of November, I made the decision. I'm going to do this podcast on the 15th of November. It was live on itunes. Right? Because we don't do perfection, we do progress. So I was like, I'll do what I can with the equipment I have, and as we go, I'll get better equipment and we'll just keep getting better. And so I said yes. And that's the ontreamty podcast that you're listening to 50 episodes later. 50 episodes later. So that's 50 episodes in seven months. And it's been life changing. And I'll talk a little bit more about that. And then here comes Covid and all the things that happened. And I was supposed to have on Trendy live on the 13th of June 2020. And I was like, well, there's no way I can bring a group of doctors into one room in June. So we made it virtual and moved it to the 27th. And I was like, but I can't do a zoom meeting. That's not what entremd Live is about. It's about networking, it's about the energy, it's about the inspiration, it's about the practical tips that people leave with. It's a life changing event. And I was like, I have to figure out how to do that virtual. But I had already said yes. And you know, we did our research, we took some classes and you know, did a lot of studying and I threw everything I had at it. Everything. And I will, I'll tell you a little bit about how that played out. But the results that came out of the process of trying to do that and the day of, I couldn't even tell you. I couldn't even tell you. But I'm so glad that even though I didn't have it all figured out, even though I didn't know everything, I am so glad that I said yes. So because of the fact that I said yes, we have an on Trendy podcast and we have 50 episodes and we have over 25,000 downloads. And the bigger piece of it is the change that happened. I had somebody in our private Facebook group and if you're not a part of that group, there's an ontremity Facebook group and you can find it just search on Trimdy. And she's like, I listened to the episode on entrepreneurship intrapreneurship. So she's an employed physician and she's like, I adopted what's there. Even the people at work have noticed the habits, you know, the things that have changed in me. And you talked about videos on one of your webinars. I did a Facebook Live. I got two new patients because of it. That's what the podcast does, where you're getting life change, even just from the podcast. Life change. That's what it's all about. And I could go on and on and on because I constantly get messages, PMs, DMs, emails, about the life change does happen. And if you're a listener here and you've experienced that, you know, leave us a review. If you haven't already posted on social media, tag us hashtag Entre md. I would love to see it. But because I said yes, there's a podcast. And because I said yes, other doctors are having life change. At the event, we got to meet, you know, Dr. Carolyn, who helps doctors get out of debt. And she tells her story, which was so touching because she had worked with a coach, she had shared her passions with, with. And he told her, that is not a business. That is not a business. And, you know, she was like, okay, so it's not a business. I was so hurtful. I mean, even at the event, she's crying when she remembers it. And you know, she's like, so that's not a business. And, you know, we got talking and I'm like, of course it's a business. I mean, this is the pathway for six figures to multiple six figures to seven figures with this business. And you can change the medical landscape as far as, you know, student debt goes. It's a movement. And to be able to watch that and see how much of a change you can affect in somebody else's life, because you said, yes, that is a blessing like nothing else. Like nothing else. And one of the things I'm most proud of is now we have, we launched on the day of the event, the entremd Business School. So ebs. And I am so proud, so, so proud of that because now I have a platform for transformation for doctors. I took all the years of working with doctors, working in one on one coaching, working in group programs, working through webinars, and all of that. I put all of it in one school. And the agenda of the school is simple, is to help physicians get the skills they need to build profitable businesses so they can live life and practice medicine or on their own terms. Now, if you're thinking, I don't know if it's for me I can tell you if it's for you. If you are the world's best kept secret so you have all this greatness but that nobody knows about, then it's for you. If you're employed and you have no leverage because you don't have a brand that's built out, what you do doesn't affect the bottom line. There's no connection between them, then you definitely need it. If you're in private practice and you don't have a full schedule, you need it. If you're giving away all your services for free. I had someone who told me I'm giving away everything and the kitchen sink for free. If that's you, then you need this. If you know there's more, but you can't even articulate what that is, you don't even know what that means, then it's for you. Okay? But it's so amazing. And you get the coaching and direction that you need, you get the community that you need, you get the accountability you need. It's just fantastic. Fantastic. But anyway, you can check it out. It's entre md.com business. Okay, so back to the power of yes. I did every one of these things that I've described to you. I did every one of them with my inner critic screaming at the top of her lungs, like, who do you think you are? They can do it, but you can't do it. Who do you think you are? You don't have what it takes to do that. You don't have the connections to do that. You don't have the resources to do that. You don't have the team to do that. You're going to fall on your face, everyone's going to laugh at you. This is all going to fall apart. But I told her, shut up. And I did it anyway. I did it in spite of my imperfection. I did it afraid. I did it with my inner critic talking. I did it even though it wasn't the best time. I did it even though I didn't have all the confidence. I did it. I said yes. Those things, they don't stop me anymore. So don't let them stop you. Say yes. Say yes. Whatever your next step is, say yes. You may not know everything that you need to do, but I'm sure that you know the next thing you need to do. For you, the next thing may be on trendy business school. Say yes. Maybe it's to finally go do that speaking gig. Say yes. Maybe it's finally to go start that video series. Say yes. Maybe it's time to start that business. Say yes. Build out that brand. Say yes. Whatever it is, when you get off listening to this podcast, I want you to say yes to it. And I want you to go do it in spite of your imperfection, even though you don't have it all together. Just say yes. Okay? So I want you to imagine. Imagine six months from now that you get to look back and celebrate your milestones, all the things that happened because you said yes. And the truth of the matter is, you won't figure it out. You won't know everything that could happen if you say yes. But if you do say yes, you get to watch it all unfold. It gets to be a true adventure. You get to really say, I don't really know how I got here. All I really did was I said yes. Stop letting your fear stop you. Stop letting imperfections stop you. Stop letting your deficiency stop you. You may not be able to do everything, but the things that you do know to do, do it today. Say yes. So thank you so much for listening, and please join me to celebrate the 50th episode of the Entre MD podcast. Take a screenshot of this episode, post it on social media, share your biggest aha Moment. You can even share what you're saying yes to, and tag us Entre md. I would love to see it. I'd love to cheer you on and thank you again for being a listener. Thank you again for being with me on this journey. And I am looking forward to sharing this your story. So I'll see you on the next episode.
