Dr. Nneka Unachukwu explains how physician entrepreneurs can use testimonials and client stories to drive enrollments and revenue. Video testimonials, written reviews, and interviews turn satisfied clients into proof that your offer works. She walks through how to collect them, where to place them, and why they matter more than any claim you could make yourself.

If your business isn't working the way.
You expected, it's not because you're bad at business.
It's because no one ever taught you.
How it actually works.
We were trained to master algorithms in medicine, but when it comes to revenue teams and growth, we were never taught anything. We weren't even told to figure it out. We just assumed somehow we'd know. Like it would magically make sense.
But it doesn't.
The era of the seven Figure Physician CEO is here. And it's not about working harder. It's about learning entrepreneurship as a system. The same way you mastered ACLs and pals, you can master the algorithm of building a profitable scalable business. That's why I recorded the seven Figure Physician CEO audiobook. Whether you're building a medical or non medical business, and whether your goal is your first million, first 2 million, first 5 million, first 10 million, this is where the journey starts. There is no Calvary coming to save us. We are the Calvary.
So.
So go get your audiobook now. Www.entremd.com 7Figurebook. And let's rewrite the narrative for physicians starting today.
Hi docs.
Welcome to the Entre MD podcast where it's all about helping amazing physicians just like you. Embrace entrepreneurship so you can have the freedom to live life and practice medicine on your terms. I'm your host, Dr. Una.
Well, hello. Hello my friend. Welcome back to another episode of the On Trendy podcast. As always, super pumped to be in your ears and we are going to have a blast today. I was just thinking about something that I did. This was in 2020 for, so a few years ago that really created a massive shift in Entre md and it wasn't intentional. It kind of played out. And I'll explain how it played out, but it created like really big wins. So we're going to be looking at, you know, really using testimonials to create six figure paydays. Multiple six figures. It could be whatever number, right? But I, I'm just throwing a number out there. So in 2020, I was thinking, I'm like, okay, what can I do to help the doctors in the on business school experience this big paradigm shift? A shift in their identity, a shift in the understanding of what they're capable of and, and all of those things. And I thought about it for maybe a week or so and I was like, wait, what if I did an event and I wasn't the speaker at the events? They were all the speakers, right? So you know, this person, CEO of that business and all of those stuff. And, you know, they're coaches, consultants, private practice, intrapreneurs, all kinds of people. And I was like, that would be fantastic. And they're just going to come on, they're going to share their journey as entreprene to the physician community. And so I was like, wonderful. So I came, I said, hey, you know, what do you guys think about this? They've loved it. You know, they were excited and nervous, you know, the way it is. And I was super excited. So we called it the Ontram D business school Expo. And so I was hosting the events, but I did not. I did not speak, I did not have a session. I want to say it was 21 ish doctors that signed up for it. So we did the training, how to show up on stage, how to nail a talk, the framework of the talk, did some practice runs, all of those things.
So it was a really fun time.
But as an entrepreneur, I understand that one of the best ways I serve my clients is by giving them an opportunity to work with me. And I was like, it would be such a disservice to have people experience all of this and then walk away. And so I said, okay, so what I'll do is I will host the event. At the tail end of it, I'm like, you've met all these doctors. They're in the entrepreneur business school creating all these wins. Come join us.
Right?
So it wasn't originally designed to be a launch. It really was designed to be something that elevated, right? Like elevated the doctor doctors in the business school. And so we hosted it. I want to say it was three days, it was in November. It was so good, right? They prepared, they worked so hard for it. They came and they were nailing their talks. And it was so interesting to see, like, their positioning in front of their peers became different because, like, oh, my goodness, you're amazing, right? And then the doctors started looking at themselves. The doctors in the business school started looking at themselves differently because they're like, oh, my goodness, my class. Like, I cannot believe I get to be in the same school, the same space with all these rock stars, right? And so it was just beautiful. So, so beautiful. And after that, I want to say, like, 18 or so students joined the entre business school after that. And to put it in perspective, the first time we opened the school, we had 22 students, right? And so this was really a huge number of people. And I started wondering, you know, like, okay, so what worked? Because I would always do a debrief and all of that, what worked, what did work, what was responsible, the results that we had. And really, it was people listening to other people's stories because they shared their journey as entrepreneurs and then where people could find them and all those things. It was people listening to the stories of others, their testimonials, if you will, their journey, how the business school helped them, and all of that. That was really what made people go like, oh, my goodness, if it could work for them, it could work for me. Especially at the stage of business I was at or I am not now. Sometimes what happens, and this is for you, if you're a more established entrepreneur, when you share your story, people find themselves in it. But they're like, yeah, but, you know, you're. You. People say, well, but you're Dr. Una. And I'm like, yeah, but I wasn't the Dr. Una that you know now then, right? Like, you know. And so when they hear from your clients, it's a little more believable. Sorry, it's a lot more believable, right? When they hear from your patients, it's a lot more believable. And so it started putting me in a position where I was like, I really need to pay attention to sharing the stories of my clients, having them share their stories and all of those things. And so if this is a tool that you're not using in your business, whether you're a private practice, you're a coach, a consultant, speaker, event planner, whatever, intrapreneur, then it's a re. It's a lost opportunity for people to see how you can help them, for people to see. To get inspired, because they see people who sound like them, look like them, you know, getting these results. And you're leaving a lot, lot of money on the table right now, of course, in Entre md, we lead with service. So it's people before profits, but it is people and profits, right? And we're not ashamed about. We're not ashamed about that. And we talk about that all the time. So it just gave me this picture. And even if you think about, like, I remember one day I went to. I was at the airport. I forget what airport I was at. And I. I love books, right? Like, I even. I have to tell myself, oh, my goodness, stop. Like, if you buy one more book, where are you going to put it? But I love books, right? So in airport, I always stop at a bookst, and I stop at a bookstore. I'm looking at books, and I'm like, oh, my goodness, this is good. I should get this One. Get that one. But I noticed myself doing something right. Like, so this is self awareness. I would look at the book, I will look at the author. Because I read authors. I don't read titles, right? And so if you have not done what you wrote a whole book about, I'm not buying the book. Right, because you can only give what you have. So I look at the author, I'm like, oh, my goodness, this person is amazing. I look at the endorsements, I'm like, wow, look at the people who said amazing stuff about these books. But I will still take that title, put it in the search bar in Amazon to see what regular folks said about the book. Right? And so as I did that and I saw myself doing that, I was like, well, isn't that interesting? So how many times would people look at my business, or look at your business and read everything about you, the founder, read the things your team members have said, read the things other prominent entrepreneurs or whatever have said, and they still want to find out, like, oh, okay, but what do your clients say? What do people have used? They say, you know, like, things like that. So it just, you know, these two things just made me kind of pay more attention to testimonials. Okay. I remember the longer you are in business, the more of a unicorn you become. And people are like, yeah, I can imagine. Of course that worked for you. Right? I get that all the time. Of course that worked for you, your doctor Una. And I want to tell you this, right, because you're listening. If there's anything I've shared with you, it really isn't because I'm Dr. Una. The reason why I take you behind the scenes in my business. I tell you about my vulnerabilities, I tell you about my strengths, I tell you about the breakthroughs we've had. And all of these things is because, you know, if you listen to this podcast, you know that I'm a very private person. Like, I really am. My business Persona is everywhere, but I'm a very private person, and I have died a thousand deaths. To be able to share my stories, but I cannot not share them, because it is a gift to you, is a gift to the physician community to see this is possible. When I share that, I'm sharing it because this is possible. Okay? So I'm telling you that to say, I may look like a unicorn, but I'm sharing all of this. I'm bringing it, breaking down all the principles. I'm showing you all the things because you have everything it takes to be unicorn, too. Okay, all right, so let's talk about practically, how do we work this out? And so when we think about testimonials, and it does not matter what kind of business you're in, okay, this, this works for everybody. All right? So number one is you can get videos. And don't, don't make the assumption that people will not give you video testimonials. You know, take a look at TikTok, take a look at Instagram, take a look at reels. People are creating all kinds of content, right? They will create content for you. But the thing is, you have to ask them, right? You have to ask them. And I also recommend you give them a framework. I'll give you a very simple one. What was life like before? Before you start working with me, what is life like now? How did we help you get there? Right? Like, just think simple framework. Because again, you know, you want to help them not have oral diarrhea, right? Like you, you want to help them, like, actually give the substance because sometimes they may not be able to articulate it, right? So, so videos, ask for videos. You're in private practice. Some is like, oh, my goodness, you changed my life. All those kind of things. You can ask for video testimonies. You can have seasons where you just send an email to your whole list and you're like, oh, my goodness, if you've loved what we've done, we'd go here, you know, to post it. And you can send a drop Dropbox link or something like that, right? So, so videos, ask for those, right? It could be written testimonies. Some people may, oh, my goodness, I cannot be on the video. Oh, my goodness, I'm so shy. And all this stuff. Okay, fine. That's fine. Will they write it, right? Would they write it and give you permission to share it? Right? And so if they write it, you can take that. The third is reviews. And you can have reviews, like your private practice. You can have a review. You can have a profile on Google. Even if you're a speaker, you do events, you're an intrapreneur. If you're an intrapreneur, oh, my good. Claim your Google profile, right? And start gathering reviews, because that is part of your personal brand and it goes with you wherever you go. And let me just stop and say this, like your personal brand, like, doing this work is so important because, you know, I tell this to students in the, in the entrepreneurly business school all the time. I'm like, a time is coming when the average student here will own two businesses Three, business like, this is not going to be your last business. And you may think it is, but it probably isn't going to be. And the thing about your brand is you build it. You take it with you wherever you go. You take you for whatever business like, like it's yours, right? And so this work is important not just for the business you have now, but whatever else you're going to build, right? So, so ask for reviews, right? If you don't have your Google profile, go claim it. Ask people to write your reviews. Every time someone says, oh, my goodness, you changed my life, you can have. You can see that as a trigger to then say, I am so happy to hear that. Would you be, can you share that? Right? So, because if other people hear this, it puts me in a position to help so many other people. I just make it smooth, like, decide what your response would be. But every time people do that, ask, okay, so reviews number four would be interviews, right? And you see me do this a lot on the EntreMD podcast where I interview doctors who are in the entremity business school. And the reason I do that is because, again, I want you to hear their stories. I want you to see yourself in their stories stories. If the entrepreneur business school is the perfect place for you, I want you to hear that story and realize, oh, my goodness, that could be my reality. I want to be there. Right? And that could be on a podcast, that could be on YouTube, that could be a Facebook live, that could be whatever, it can be any format, it could be a blog, you know, like. But you want to interview them, right?
And then the fifth one is really.
You know, leveraging their story. So there are people who have shared their stories publicly.
So if somebody did a review identified.
Somebody did not so much in private practice, Right? But you can use it de identified, Right? Okay, so they've done a video, they've done a read on one, and all of that. Whenever you are teaching, talking, you're in a position where you need to sell all those kind of things, leverage the stories. Like, leverage the stories, tell the stories, tell them over and over again, right? Because it's part of the way you use those testimonials. It's part of the way you get people to see themselves in those stories and say yes to working with you or get inspired to go to the next level. Things like that, right? Okay, so videos, written reviews, interviews, leverage their stories in all communication. So when you're speaking, when you're sending emails, when you're doing social media, just leverage it, right. So when I did, when I did the, the Entrepreneur Business School Expo that I started off talking about, I want to think about it, 18 students, right? 18 students joined the business school then. And again, I wasn't planning to do a launch. That was not the way this started out. So that's the way it made sense as I went along. But that was a huge break. And what created that, it was, it was all testimonials. Like, really, that's, you know, that's what it was. So this is a muscle that is worth building. The muscle of recruiting, recruiting, asking, getting the testimonials that you need and all of that. And so I want to challenge you to start today. It is doctor, Dr. Tolu who is in the Entre MD Business School. She is, I mean, she's a total rock star. She started a private practice in Mansfield, Texas and, you know, set up her Google profile, all that, started getting reviews. Within a year and a half. I want to say she had 500 five star reviews. I want you to think about that. That just, I mean, like when you hear that, you hear somebody was using her muscle, right? Somebody was using her muscle. And so imagine that, that could be your reality, right? And so I want you to start asking today, okay? Recognize it as a muscle. So if it feels weird, it just means your muscle is flabby. And the more you do it, the stronger you'll get. So ask and ask and ask and ask and ask. And you may be like, you might be like, how do I ask? You just ask. Okay, so for instance, you're listening to the Entre MD podcast, right? And if this podcast, especially this episode, has helped you in any way, and you can really see that, oh my goodness, I can ask. I can add six figures, multiple six figures to my business just by leveraging this simple thing I learned in this podcast episode. That's less than 30 minutes. If, if that is, if that is you, then I want you to take a moment, like right now, you can even pause this. I want you to take a moment and leave us a review on the On Trendy podcast. And if you're like, doctor, I already left the review, then what I want you to do is set take a screenshot of this episode, post it on your social media and tell the doctors in your life, oh, my goodness, if you do not listen to this podcast, this is the free MBA for physicians. You should be listening to it. This is how it's changed my life. This is how it's changed my business. And I want you to I want it to be the same for you. And then tag us on a hashtag, Entre md. I would really, really appreciate it. It helps us get the word out. It makes you part of the calvary. And together we are changing the narrative for physicians in medicine where we get to this point where we're practicing medicine on our terms, we're living life on our terms. Okay? So please and thank you. I'll be looking out for it. What did I do? I just asked. Right? It doesn't have to be that long or anything, but ask. Okay, Ask. But really, I would love. I would love for us to get to a point where we really have built these businesses and over time, have built this muscle of asking that we have tons and tons of testimonials that inspire, you know, inspire in our industry, inspire our community, help people get like you, help you have a profound impact on people and help you generate financial freedom. Imagine that you can get all of that from asking for testimonials. Okay, so start today. Don't forget to share this episode, and I'll see you on the next episode of the EntreMD podcast.
