Carol Dweck's fixed and growth mindsets are just the start. This breaks down five other mindset types: closed versus open (how willing you are to hear others), prevention versus promotion (avoiding loss versus chasing gains), and inward versus outward (whether you see others as people or objects).

So we have fixed and growth that we know Carol Dweck brought to us. What else is out there?
Then there's closed and open, and this is how closed or open our mind is to the ideas and suggestions of others. Then there's prevention and promotion. And when we have a prevention mindset, we're focused on not losing. When we have a promotion mindset, we're focused on winning and gains. And then the last set of mindsets is inward versus outward. When we have an inward mindset, we see ourselves as more important than others, which causes us oftentimes to see others as objects. But when we have an outward mindset, we see others as being just as important as ourselves, which allows us to see others as people and to value them as such. So, hopefully, that's a quick little overview on those three, and I'm happy to dive into any of those however you want.
