Dylan Vanas explains why he loves living in Las Vegas. Casinos fund public infrastructure and enable Nevada's no state income tax. He wants to see downtown redevelopment like Tony Hsieh's scaled across the whole city and plans to stay long-term.
I always say that if you live in Vegas and you don't drink, smoke, gamble, like, excessively, you benefit from everyone else that does, because the casinos are out here paying a lot to the communities in the form of taxes and the infrastructure, of course. Whereas, like, we don't pay state income tax because the casinos are doing that for us, of course. So Vegas is a great place, and there's a lot of opportunity here. I would love to see downtown, take what Tony Hsieh's done, enhance it, like. Like 10x. And I would love to help with that. I have no plans to leave. I love this city. So 30 years from now, maybe that's what we can have, you know?
