Today we're going to be flipping couches and seeing how much money we can make in 24 hours. Now there's all these influencers online saying that couch flipping is a real business opportunity. So we're going to put that to the test. We have a u haul truck that we're renting. We're going to go ahead and clean couches, pick them up and sell them and show you can you make money flipping couches. So today we picked up the three seater. As you can see, we got highest quality. This is kangaroo leather. We're going to try to see how many couches we can actually put in this car. We're going to drive around. We're not going to stop. Imag if I open this up and there's like a homeless guy in here. It was listed for 120. We offered 100. We talked them down. We already saved some money. Oh, we already talked them down. Yeah. What we're doing is we're going on offerup, Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, and we're looking for people who have couches that are in all right condition but could just be cleaned up. And then we're going to go buy some cleaning supplies, clean them up, list them back and see how many we can actually sell and how much money we can make in this short period of time. What we're looking for is basically couches that are dirty or photos that are bad. Ideally it's just some guy that took some blurry photos and makes it not look good. If you could find an opportunity to take advantage of someone who doesn't really know exactly what they're doing or they don't have the time to do it, you're going to get a better deal. We're pulling up to first cows that we have, bro. It's going to be funny. I'm going to say. Let's say there's 100, right? And then like I'm going to pull this fast. D cash out, flip fan through it and then pull this up. Go do cash memo or. Yeah, give you cash. It was 100, right? Yeah, 100 pesos. No. Do you have like a. That's real. Don't worry. All right, so he didn't fall for the good old peso trick. We'll try that on the next victim. But we got our first couch. It's actually pretty nice. It is. You know, there's a little bit of dog piss on this side maybe, but I think it's actually for your couch. So the key thing here is to be Able to get good deals on the couches. And so we're not looking for every single couch. What we're trying to find is the diamond in the rough. People who will work with us, you go super low, you lowball them like crazy. What's going to happen is they're going to come back and counter at, let's say, I'll take 280. Well, now you're basically at where you would have offered it before anyways. And so now, now you know their bottom price. Now from there, you got to work them, work them down. The way you negotiate is go, I'm at 120. What would, what's the lowest you take? Then they come down, and from there you say, okay, you're at. Now you're at 280. I'm at 120. How about we beat in the middle? So what you did is you already brought them down, and then you split again. And so you were able to get it for, let's say, $100 less than someone who doesn't know how to negotiate was able to do. So this guy, we came to pick up the couch and said, dude, I'll pick it up if you give me 10 bucks. He said, yes. It's funny. They're like, oh, you guys know what you're doing? You must do this a lot. They're like, yeah, once. So if you look, it's actually not in terrible condition outside of it being a pretty not attractive couch, But I think we can clean this one up and at least get some money for it. We already made 10 bucks or $10 profitable on this couch. And actually we got two of them. So on this one, it's pretty much the same condition, but this is a two seater. Whether the couches are nice or not, he paid US$10 to pick them up. So I'm optimistic. Look, we already made 10 bucks on this one, but I think if we can clean them up, take some nice photos, put some nice pillows on it, we can make some money. I was like thinking like, maybe I could sell him my other couch. Because he's like. I was like, why don't you like it? He's like, I just don't like that couch. It's like, do you have another one? He said he did, but imagine this, right? I meet up with the guy, he pays me 10 bucks to pick up the couch, and he pays us for other couches. So spy traveling with couches in the car is a good idea. $6.77 worth of cleaning supplies. First impressions matter. So we want to give the people a nice, good first impression to make sure that we could seal the deal in. So to make that happen, I bought fabric refresher, some sponges, awesome cleaner with bleach. And then I did buy some towels and then some gloves. That's our cleaning supplies. So the secret to couch clipping is really, you're supposed to be taking the couch and, you know, take it home, vacuum it, clean it. There's a zipper here. And we can actually take the covers off and wash them. Since we're on the go and we don't have time to do that today, we're gonna do, like, the quick version. We got someone who's interest. Interested in these couches. So I'm gonna clean them up as best I can because there's a little bit of a smell to it. They asked for some photos. We're gonna take some good photos of it and then hopefully send to them and we'll have a buyer. Here's the thing about business is value is. Is always perceived. So we can take a product that one guy took. He took photos. They're like crappy photos inside his apartment. It's clean up a couple things, and we take higher quality photos. And we're adding value into the. Into the process, where now we can double or even triple these, let alone the fact we got paid for this. We're just increasing the value and re adding it to the marketplace. So what I'm doing here is I'm taking some photos. I took some zoomed out from above. I'm takes one of each, and I'm going to go ahead and actually throw them into an AI tool. I have to enhance the photo and try to put a nice background behind. Obviously, we don't want to look like we're in a parking lot or in a park. So whatever I can do to enhance it and just make it look better for the listing, I put it into AI, into Dolly. And I said couch and living room, upscale house. And let me show you the variations. We got this, this, this. What's up, man? You want a couch? So only. Oh, nice. Yeah, yeah. What if it was 5 dol. I'll drop it at your house. Okay. All right, sounds good. I'll trade you the rest of the coffee for it. All right, so that is one of our buyers for the day. This can be a true income source. Now, obviously, look, we're doing things a little bit by the seat of our pants, but what this does mean is, look, we're getting people that want to Buy from us. They want to buy the couches. If we had more time to really recondition them, list them, and store them, I'm sure we'd get even more money. But, you know, this is not bad. All right, check out these beauties. So I think these look like leather couches. Let's see what we can do. All right, we're slowing down. Slowing down. What do you think? Can these be repaired? I think those might be trash. But here's the thing, you know, it's cool. So where we live, every other week, they have what's called bulk pickup day, which basically means everyone just leaves all their junk out on the. On the side of the road. Especially on bulk pickup day, you could go and get a lot of cool stuff. All right, guys, we're about to wrap up this video now. I spent about eight hours trying to flip couches. I got three couches. So the first couch we picked up bought for 100. We're about to actually drop it off, and we're going to be paid just about $100 for it. So roughly, breaking even wasn't a good buy. Honestly, we probably should have lowballed the guy a little bit more on that one second couch we actually got paid to pick up. So that was $10 we got paid to pick up. It was two couches. We ended up driving it and got paid $10 to drop it off. So all in all, we spent 100 bucks we made, and we made back 120. I would say that you can make money doing this, but number one, you need to be able to actually lowball people a little bit more and make sure you're really getting good deals. Two, add more value to the process. For us, we didn't really have a vacuum, didn't have a way to clean it, so that was part of the issue. And then finally, just if you have a place to store them, let's say you're going to leave the couches in your garage for a couple days. You have a way to actually wait. But for us, we just had them in the back of the truck, so that was it. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. If you did, go ahead and hit the subscribe button, and we'll see you in the next video. If you like this series kind of going around doing side hustles, let me know, and we'll make more videos just like this. All right, talk to you soon.
