First-person YouTube vlog by Dylan Vanas recounting a three-day water-only fast and meditation retreat he undertook on an isolated island after a major business failure. He frames the challenge by referencing Jesus' 40-day fast, describes renting an Airbnb with no access to food, and concludes that the experience revealed greater physical/mental resilience and facilitated personal growth.

One time I didn't eat any food for three days and just fasted and meditated. Here's why. I was at a massive breaking point. One of my businesses had failed massively and I didn't know what to do. And this thought came to me is like, what's like one of the most challenging things that I could do to expand myself, grow outside of my comfort zone. Jesus went and fasted and didn't eat for 40 days. If he did 40, I could do three. And so I rented an Airbnb in this island in the middle of nowhere that had no stores, no food, no shopping or anything. And I just went and sat in the Airbnb for three days, drank water, meditated, and. And that was it. Now, while I didn't have any crazy revelations, Jesus didn't come down from the sky. The ocean didn't part. I did realize that our human bodies are capable of doing a lot more than most people believe they can. You can push yourself outside your comfort zone in ways that you could never imagine. And when we do that, we grow. We become a new version of ourself that's much stronger and powerful than before.
