Dylan Vanas on why people are angry at Disney for planning to replace writers with AI. The writers' strike happened because the company wants to cut costs, and Vanas argues workers need to learn new skills or risk becoming obsolete.
People are getting pissed right now at Walt Disney. He's the current CEO of the Disney Corporation. They're looking at actually replacing a lot of their writers with AI and just having AI write the script for them. Now there's this whole strike. The truth is, if your job can be replaced by AI, you probably need a new job. You shouldn't be replaceable like that. And just because technology is coming around, that doesn't make Walt Disney a bad person. He's really just trying to make his company more profitable. Everyone needs to be learning new skills and growing so they are irreplaceable to the company.
