A short motivational monologue arguing against setting overly ambitious "reach-for-the-stars" goals. The speaker claims such goals often undermine confidence when missed and recommends setting smaller, achievable goals to build momentum and belief; over time, incremental successes enable far larger outcomes. Emphasis is on writing goals down, making plans, and taking action.

A lot of these motivational gurus say, set these big goals because even if you missed, you'll land among the stars and still get to something. I think that is bullshit. The thing with goal setting is the purpose of it is to set a target you move towards over time and gradually make growth and succeed. But if your goal is so crazy that the chances of you hitting it is very unlikely, guess what happens when you don't hit the goal? You lose faith and belief in yourself. See, the thing about goal setting that makes it work over time. If you set a goal and you accomplish it, you build up a little bit of confidence. Your subconscious mind believes not just in your ability, but when you put something down the planet, you can actually move towards it. If you want to accomplish more goals, set smaller goals, work towards them, and then eventually your goals will be bigger than you could have ever imagined, because you'll believe in them and know that we put it down on paper, turn it into a plan, and take action towards it. Success is just the action steps away.
