The Real Reason You're Not Getting Clients

Dylan Vanas breaks client acquisition into three channels: inbound (organic, referrals, content), outbound (cold emails, DMs, calls), and paid ads. Rate each on control, effort, and time required, then pick two to focus on instead of spreading yourself thin.

Most people don't understand how to get more clients for their business. See, there's only three ways to get clients inbound, outbound, and paid. Inbound is when people come to you, they see your content, maybe they're referrals, they organically find you online. Outbound is where you reach out to them. Maybe it's outbound emails, maybe it's DMs, where you're messaging someone, maybe it's cold calling. That's outbound. And the third is paid. Now, here's the thing. In order to actually grow a business, you need to look at these different methods of getting traffic and look into your own business and see, okay, where are we? Which one of these three are we using? So write down all the areas that you're currently using in your business for marketing and categorize it. First, list out which of those three is as an inbound, outbound, or paid. Okay, paid is like running paid traffic and ads. Then rank it. So you want to rank it from 1 to 10 on three core aspects. One, how easy is it to control? Can you turn it up and down whenever you want as needed, whether you want more leads or less leads. The second thing is the amount of effort. How much effort do you have to put into it? Is this something you're waking up every single day and spending all your time and effort on? And then the third thing is the amount of time. How much time are you and your team putting into this specific method of traffic? Once you have those, you can score from most effective to least effective in the control, effort and time. And you can decide, okay, we're going to do more of it. See, where most people fail is they try to do all these things when it comes to marketing. When instead you just need to focus on maximum two different areas that you rank based on control, effort and time based on the category. And you can scale up from there. Keep this in mind the next campaign you build. And follow me for more about marketing and growth.
