Military Member Makes $5,000 Per Month Working 7 Hours Per Week at 20 Years Old

Noah Burton, a 20-year-old Air Force airman, makes $5,000 a month working 7 hours a week as a DM setter for a coaching offer. He joined a high-ticket sales community two months ago after failed attempts at real estate and junk removal, and credits the network's vetted offers and mentorship for his success.

All right, here we are, guys. Community member interview with Mr. Noah. Um, Noah, how long have you been in the community?
I think I just crossed 2 months. Yeah, actually I did just cross 2 months. January 26th I joined.
Okay. Yeah, literally 2 months and a couple days. Well, I appreciate you coming on, man. I know it's, uh, you know, you're, you're technically a little bit newer, but you've been able to do some, I would say some pretty cool stuff in a pretty short timeframe. So that's why we're here, um, and to let the people know that it's possible. Um, but Noah, man, I guess a little bit of, um, for the viewers, they probably clicked on this because your story or like kind of where you're coming from, how you're getting into this. It's a little bit different than most people. You're actually in the military, which is badass. But can you give us kind of the rundown on like your, your situation before getting into the high ticket space?
Yeah, so I came into like, I guess the military pretty young. So I've had, I guess a pretty like blessed opportunity in that like regard, right? I've had a really good I guess what's the like term runway? I've had a lot of like space to mess up. So long story short, way back when I first joined, some stuff happened with the, with the military and they didn't pay me for like 3 months one time. Uh, and I had to go out and I was hustling, dude. I was knocking on people's doors in Florida and I was selling 'em on the idea that they should let me like clean pine needles off their roofs. I think it was. And dude, I fell in love with business right then and there. I think I made a whopping like maybe $600 doing that. So definitely didn't come up. But it was like, it was the first taste of being like my own boss, quote unquote. From there, I ran with the service business thing for a while. But dude, it just started beating my body up. I was doing junk removal for like the longest amount of time. And I was making like decent money there. It was just like a, a cash business or whatever. But I paid my taxes if the IRS is listening. And yeah, no, it was a cool time, but there's not enough time in the day. You said it like I'm in the military. So there's not enough time in the day for me to really like scale that and make a lot of money. So man, I went down the rabbit hole. I was jumping around looking at every shiny object I could find. Actually, and not to like say anything bad about the industry, I invested in coaching like probably like a year and a half ago into like some real estate stuff. And it was like a biz op offer. It didn't pan out just because I was— fuck, I was like 19, I think I was. So I'm 19 trying to like manage 2 VAs, run like marketing and do sales myself. Like it wasn't smart on my behalf at all. But in the time that I was making that decision, I had the choice between like real estate or sales. Thankfully, I didn't go with sales at that time. I won't burn anybody's name up or anything like that, but if you've ever applied for a role in a Facebook group and somebody's called you and asked you to buy their training program so you can get their job, it was one of those type of things. So I, I came out on top in the end, but, uh, yeah, no, I think the new year turned into 2024 and the algorithm just knew what it was. So, uh, yeah, I remember, I don't know, I still laugh about it to this day. I've, I emailed you first, which was stupid. I emailed you, DM'd you, and I think I DM'd you somewhere else. I probably DM'd you on Twitter. I don't know. Nah, I didn't even have Twitter in January. I DM'd you twice or something like that on a story and then like directly. And I was like, dude, please, like, how much do I gotta pay? Like, what do I gotta do? And, uh, I think I joined like the week after. Um, yeah. And you've posted some of the wins and everything. It paid off pretty well in the end.
Yeah. I mean, you're definitely, I would say ROI positive. Yeah.
So far. For sure.
And, uh, within the, the guarantee period, even like the guarantee is like you land an offer that's gonna get you there, but like, dude, you, you hit the ROI before the guarantee was even eligible, which is badass.
Yeah.
Um, how did you land on, like you, so you kind of stumbled in into business, tried a few different things. Had some success and then realized maybe I'm not in the best vehicle, I could probably do something better. How did you stumble on high-ticket sales specifically?
I think I knew through my failed attempt at wholesaling that I did enjoy the talking to people part. I was a big fan of that. And I knew for certain that I wanted to do something where talking would pay me. And yeah, I mean, dude, I just, I went so deep in the rabbit hole. I can't tell you how many months, probably like at least a year because like I was looking at remote sales before real estate, just going through and trying to like figure it all out and understand it. So yeah, I would say that just like in real life, like, I don't know, I like talking to people. I'm a personable person. So it's always, uh, been an idea, I guess, that's crossed my mind where I'm like, man, I wonder how do people get paid for this? You know?
Yeah.
Um, and thankfully I just, I found my way.
Yeah, I know. I tried a bunch of different business models too, man. And like, I think once you, some people are just like, they're, they're really, they don't even really believe that this stuff is possible in 2024, which is like, Really, it's really mind-blowing that people think like some of these business models aren't what they actually are. But how did you know that like this was something that was like real? Like, of course there's people like making a dollar online, talking like appointment setting, closing. But like then you, I'd assume you probably caught on. It's like, oh shit. Like, This dude made 10 grand in a month. This dude made 20 grand in a month. And then you were like, all right, now I'm like laser focused on this. Like, do you remember when that was for you?
Yeah. Believe it or not, it was, it was your page. It was your page. I think it was one of the like sales bro pods or maybe the interviews. It was a collection of like your page and just the internet in general. 'Cause obviously like high ticket sales is a, a big thing online right now. Um, it was kind of the, uh, the circumstance where like there was too many people doing it and like succeeding for me to not believe it, you know?
Yeah.
Um, like as backwards as that sounds, like some people are like, oh, everybody's doing it, it's a scam. But that's just not reality. Um, and then like, I understand how business works, right? Like I said that I paid for like coaching in real estate, like somebody had to sell me that. Um, so like I've been on the other end of a transaction, like I know that it's real. Um, so figuring out how to put myself on the better side of that transaction, I didn't know how to do that until I came into the community and everything. But, uh, yeah, yeah, no, it was just something that like you see it and once you see it enough, like you can't really deny it.
Yeah. What, um, just like a lot of people, man, like Even, even myself, and honestly, I would say almost half of the guys that join, like they've either invested in other groups, trainings, like maybe like some that are very like sales training specific, or like there's a bunch of free groups out there. But when you came into, into the community here, like what were some of the things that stood out to you where you're like, Well, obviously you were able to get a, a good result, but like, what were some of the things that you think helped you in the community, like get to where you were faster?
Yeah. Hopefully I'm not, hopefully I don't dox anything in here, but man, there's just cheat codes. There's cheat codes in the community that like you cannot find anywhere else. And I mean, like, not to, not to talk down on anybody's business or anything like that, but I've like, I joined another sales group before. This and all credit to them or more power to them, whatever you want to say, right? Like they're cool dudes. But the group that I was in and most groups that I know about, they teach you to do like outreach, right? And they put it under this like disguise of like, oh, we're going to teach you how to hunt for yourself and go find an offer, which is cool, right? Like if that's what you want to do, if you want to break your thumbs sending DMs until somebody tells you no, That's cool for sure. But the community is the only place that I know of where like you don't have to do that. Everybody in there is so well connected. Like there's so many members who like they came in and I know that they were closers when they came in, or they were just like setters when they, I don't know, got their journey going. But I mean, like, I know dudes in there now that are managers at big offers. Like I know you, which is like—
Yeah.
Should be enough, honestly. But yeah, like to put the cherry on top, like, man, there's dudes in there that make $15,000, $20,000 a month that are like nice, you know, they're cool dudes. Um, there was a minute where I stopped, uh, answering my school cause I was like, man, these guys are kind of fucking annoying. Like they just kept talking. But yeah, it would like, they're genuine dudes. Everybody in there, guys, girls, like everybody in there is like. We all have the same goal, you know, uh, and we just kind of like unite in this one community. And I haven't seen anybody not post a win. Uh, so I think we're probably the winning team if anybody's winning at it. But.
Yeah. Yeah. Not to mention your, so there's a, there's a guy in here, he actually, we recorded one, but, uh, David, like you, you met up with him in person.
Yeah.
Uh, he told me a little bit about it. You told me a little bit about it, but like a guy like that, just supremely connected management experience. Like for all the new people that are coming in that are looking to be appointment setters or looking for that next appointment setter role, it's like you just need to surround yourself with guys like David, you know, and, and go drive an hour to have barbecue with guys like David.
Yeah.
You know, so, uh, and then also hitting on that piece that you said where like guys who are already having success are literally joining for network and opportunities. It's like, dude, in the past 3 months we've had got— we've had 2 guys who were making over $20 grand a month join for that, and then 1 guy making $15 joined for that.
Yeah.
Which I don't really know. A lot, a lot of these other ones out there, and a lot of, a lot of them do good work, but like everyone has kind of their focus, right? And like some is like Sales training. Some are like finding, you know, well, ours or mine is pretty much like finding a quality job as fast as possible and like making that transition smooth, whether you're quitting, going part-time across the world, whatever it might be. And then others are, I mean, they have like unique mixes, right? They do like the guaranteed placement thing, which is like, We won't get into it too much.
Yeah. Yeah, man.
You just gotta, you just gotta have the right expectations, um, around what you're getting into. Like, I don't know. I, I, it's hard to explain unless you, unless you really, really have been there and, and, uh, felt some pain before.
Yeah, definitely.
Um, I was gonna say, so talking more about like what you're up to now. So clearly you're in the military, you work a real like technical role. Like a lot of the stuff you tell me about just goes over my head because I'm not, I like to think I'm technical in a sales sense, but like not when it comes to like, you were just talking about software and stuff. Like it's not me. Yeah.
I'm a nerd, man.
But so how did you, what was your approach coming into this, like being in the military? Uh, you're, you work Monday through Friday, like you don't, I don't know, you, you have a full schedule working full hours. Like what was your mindset coming into this and like what was your game plan on finding that role that aligned with your availability?
Yeah. Um, one thing that I think you told me, um, somebody told me, uh, success loves action, right? Um, and that's just like. A motto that I've like picked up since then. So I knew that if I wanted to be successful, like just in life in general, I would have to like start taking action. Um, but not just like aimlessly, you know? So joining the community was kind of like, it's like I got my sight on, uh, and then from there, like I knew where I was aiming and, you know, I know what like target I'm shooting at now. Uh, so. Y'all got me on the right path, but like, I'm a DM setter, you know? Like, I don't have a, I don't have an insane workload. I mean, there's definitely some guys who are like in inboxes with dudes with 2 million followers or whatever, and they're paying $20K a month in ads, you know? Like, that definitely happens, but those are bigger teams. Like, I'm, I'm on a coaching offer that doesn't have a billion followers and crazy, crazy, crazy, like. Million dollar months yet. So, you know, like my lead flow isn't nuts. My workflow or my workload isn't crazy. So, I mean, I can text people, right? Like, Yeah. I text my friends all the time. I text my parents, I text my family and all that. Um, it was just kind of like shifting my mind and looking more towards what I was aiming at. Like, why not just get paid to text people, you know?
Yeah.
Um, yeah, and like, man, I, I think we joked about it one time. Like, I can't even have my phone where I work. Like, I just, I get on the computer and I like type away on the computer, like, and that's it. Like, I just log into our software and I'm good. Um, so yeah, no, I mean, it's, I would, I would hate to be the dude who's like, it's easy, but it's really not hard. Um, to be honest, it's not that hard. It's not that hard to balance, especially in the DM setter role. Uh, if I was, if I was looking back and I didn't join the military and I could like quit my job type of thing, I would quit my job. I would go, you know, try to go on the fast track to being a closer. But, um, I'm one of the, uh, lucky or unlucky few that, uh, are contractually obligated. to continue my day job. So yeah, this is the best thing I can do right now, but it's the best thing that I can do as well.
So yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's the, that's the main thing that I think a lot of people coming into this are looking for. It's like getting, getting to the point where you're experiencing upside in this space without compromising your security, right?
Right?
Yeah. You're, you're contractually obligated to have this job. But a lot of people coming into this, it's like, well, some people out there are saying, quit your job, burn the boats, go all in before you even have anything. And you know, if you have money saved and you're determined, like there are worse things you could do.
But yeah.
Um, I'm not really the one to tell people to do that unless they know deep down in their heart that They're, they're willing to go through tough times to, you know, see through, see it through to the other side.
Yeah.
But, um, I'm trying to think what else is relevant for the viewers. You, um, I mean, also if, if they clicked on this video, they probably saw that you're hovering around that $5K per month mark.
Um, yeah.
Second month in the job, right? Yeah. Okay. So full-time Air Force.
If we're gonna be technical, month and a half.
Yeah. That's, I mean, as a DM setter, like how many hours a week do you think you're, you're like putting in on the, on the, with the thumbs?
Man, you can't even quantify it. Uh, it's, yeah, I don't even, I don't even know how I'd answer that. I'd be scrolling Instagram either way, so it's not. It's not work. Zero.
Yeah. Well, shoot, dude. It's, um, 'cause I, I feel that too, like with a lot of the work that I do, it's like, yeah, a lot of the work is just texting people WhatsApp or iMessage, but like, what am I gonna count 10 seconds of work to like do this? You know? But like cumulatively, like for you, would you say you're like, would you say you're putting in like even If like 20 hours a week on this?
No. If you, if I did, if I sat down and I counted up all the seconds, maybe on the worst week, like 7 or 8 hours.
Dude, that's crazy.
Yeah. That's like a hard maybe too. I, I'm just giving you a number to give you a number. It's, it's probably less than that.
Yeah. Dude, that's so sweet. Then you're in, you have the security of the Air Force, like you just ride it out and then you're, you're young too. You're like 22?
I'm 20.
20.
Shit. Yeah. Can't even drink.
Yeah. I thought you were older than that too. That's funny. Damn. Shoot, dude. You're, you're on a good track. That's good stuff.
Yeah, I'm trying. I'm trying.
Well, yeah, man, let me think what for, because this is someone that we see a lot come, come through. People that have been in other programs, other courses, worked with other people and like at the end of it, maybe they know how to handle objections better, but they don't have a job or like they don't have the result that they're looking for, whether it's the job or the better job. Or whatever it might be. Like, what do you say to those people that are feeling kind of like, damn dude, is high ticket sales real? Like, I've already bought this course and I don't have a job and I'm about to go pick up my W-2 again. Like, what do you say to those types?
Man, in all honesty, you just gotta, you just gotta keep going. Honestly, you gotta keep progressing. You have to find ways to keep progressing. One of the big things that is obviously like very, uh, crucial and pivotal in what like would be considered my quote unquote success. I'm not like a, not Jeff Bezos yet, so we're not there to call it success. But, um, is my network, uh, more than anything. Like I have, I've added probably like 50 or 60 contacts to my phone since February. Uh, Guys that are like around the world. I started a Bible study with dudes from Twitter and some of those dudes in there, like one of 'em is a coach for another program. 2 of 'em are coaches for other programs and they're doing 5-figure months. Like, I don't know, that is probably, probably the most important part. Make sure you're like just putting one foot in front of the other. Never stop. If you're not having like the luck or the success that you think you should be having, Take yourself out of it. That's what I did. I had a very tough conversation with myself when I was going through real estate where I was like, okay dude, you suck. It's probably time to put this down. So look at yourself and be honest. Is this for you? You might be a marketer, who knows? And there's nothing wrong with that. But if you do think that sales is for you, just keep going, meet more people, And join the Cereal Sales Community. I mean, no, I'm kidding. But if I am allowed to make the pitch, it's a cheat code. So yeah, you guys can win the game if you want. It's up to you though. But yeah, yeah, just consistency more than anything. Yeah.
And you were— we didn't talk about it yet, I don't think, but like you were on some pretty spotty offers before you jumped into this.
Yeah.
Yeah. So I'm not talking about the real estate or anything like that, but like, I think they were pretty short stints because they were not what you were looking for. But what have you learned now on like vetting offers out? Like, how do you, how do you know that you're not going to going forward, like accept something bad again?
I mean, I just hit on it, the network. I know where they're coming from now. Like I'm behind the curtain a little bit more when it comes to, I guess, like my selectiveness of what I get to do. Because like the, I think the offer that you're talking about, I was in like a Facebook group and it was like, it was a very like well-run group for like high-ticket sales. Like they were vetted offers and everything. Like it was either admin post or like admin approved So like, even though it was a vetted offer, I got on and they had like 7 or 8 closers and like 2 setters, but all the leads that came in, they booked themselves on the form. So I would get like maybe 4 appointments a day that I could call, like, or not even appointments. I'd get like 4 leads a day that I could call. And then I was sharing that with a dude who was in like a weird triage role. So he would set and close his own appointments. So like, I was, I was fighting for like the bottom of the barrel. Um, but like, honestly, if you're not like connected at all, like you can't, you can't complain about that for one, but like you have no clue how to really see what is and isn't the bottom of the barrel because you have no experience. Like you don't have connections. Um, you're doing what I was doing. Like you're going on Facebook and looking for a job, Post that doesn't say, comment hungry and I'll DM you or something like that. You know, you're looking for somebody that looks like a normal person, you know?
Yeah. So trenches, dude.
Yeah.
Hungry with a little farts emoji. Yeah.
Yeah. Um, in all caps or it won't work. Yeah.
That's funny, dude. Well, um, I'm just thinking about some of the stuff that I learned today. 20 years old, 7 hours a week, $5K a month part-time alongside the Air Force. Dude, when I was 20 years old, like, man, I was messing up. I was messing up, dude. Luckily I found sales. I found sales when I was like 22, I think. I think that's how old I was. But yeah, yeah, that's exciting, dude. Well, anyways, I do want to like direct people to connect with you on your platform of choice. I can link it below, but if you want to point the people, feel free.
Probably Twitter. I would say Twitter is the best place to talk to me about sales stuff. It should be @noahburton32. So it's my name, Noah Burton 32, if you guys want to tap in. Yeah, I have a regular public account. You can DM me. But yeah.
Sweet. Well, I think that's it. I appreciate you coming on, man. For those of you that are in the military, you can do it. For those of you who tried real estate wholesaling, you can do it. If you have 2 thumbs, even maybe if you have 1 thumb, you could probably Do DM setting. It just might take you more than 7 hours a week.
Yeah. Um, nah, it doesn't. I'm a right-hand texter. I don't use the left hand.
So you're doing that all one hand?
Yeah, man. I'm doing this.
That's crazy.
Texting and driving, the whole thing. I'm playing. That's a joke.
Yeah. Well, uh, nah, dude, I appreciate you coming on. Um, if you guys watching this have any questions, reach out to me, reach out to Noah. We'll help you out. And if we see you inside, we'll see you inside. Peace.
