Signs you're ngmi in high ticket sales (from guys who made it)

Dylan Vergara and his guests Cam and Noah break down why most people fail at high-ticket sales. They've coached over 800 people and say the biggest mistakes are lacking confidence, refusing to grind, skipping appointment-setting, avoiding rejection, and working alone. Background and accent don't matter if you have basic English and find mentors.

Oh well well, here we are. You're here because you think there's a chance that you're not gonna make it in high ticket sales, or maybe remote sales, or maybe sales in general, or you just like watching my videos. Either way, thanks for being here. Trying to think of something to post, something to film, provide a little entertainment value. People seem to like when I make these videos talking about the reason why someone can't do something. Why something isn't for you, isn't for someone, and the algorithm likes them too. So wanted to throw something together today. Just got back from a walk. Saturday, so gonna have a chill day, might knock out some work in a little bit. You know, I've worked one-on-one with over like 300 or so people in the high-ticket sales space now. In a group setting, I've helped over 500 people, probably well over 500 people break into this space. And there's some really common themes that I have picked up on. Amongst those who do really well, those who do well, those who do okay, and those who don't make it. So by watching this video here today, hopefully you don't find yourself in the not gonna make it category and at least move yourself over to the does well or really well category. If you watched one of my recent videos, I was talking about all the negative things about high-ticket sales. And so you have to watch out for all that stuff when you come into this industry, regardless of you, your experience. Everybody has to watch out for that same stuff. But there are gonna be things that are specific to the individual that may present challenges. I know that coming into this myself, I presented myself with challenges that other people probably didn't experience, and I can talk about those in this video. You watching this, you might be facing a completely different set of challenges that somebody else might be experiencing, which is giving you a completely different outcome or a completely different path to success. Nobody is going to have the exact same experience breaking into high-ticket remote sales as another person. And I feel like that's why so many people struggle to do this, especially alone, because they don't have an understanding of the full picture. They have a very narrow idea of what it takes to be successful in high-ticket sales. If they don't have the people to speak to that can tell them there is, you know, multiple ways to do this, or this worked for me, whereas it might not work for you, but this might work for you. If you have that, it just might be a little bit easier for you to succeed. And so in this video, I kind of want to create that a little bit. So I'm gonna kind of take you along through my Saturday, and anytime I think of something, I'm gonna pick up the camera, I'm gonna film it. I'm about to go to the gym, do a little upper body lift. It's a beautiful day out here in Austin, Texas, so I'm gonna enjoy my weekend. A little lift, probably a little work after, maybe eat some good food, who knows. But we'll take you guys along for it.
Let's go.
You know what we on? The Daily Stack. Shout out Diego. Plus 20% VO2 capacity. I just got to get this one out of the way, and this is going to be general across sales, not just high-ticket sales. If you do not have some sort of like delusional belief that you are better than most people at the thing that you're trying to do, Then you're not gonna be better than most people at the thing you're trying to do, especially when it's sales. But in your mind, if you do just see yourself as average or below average at the thing that you're trying to do, and you wake up and every time you go and try to do the thing, you embody this mentality that I am not as good as these people, I am not good enough to do this thing like these people are doing, and we're talking about sales still, you are going to struggle severely. I just recorded an interview with Cam, who's in the community, moved down to Austin, Texas, appointment setter, crushing it. He's a great representation of this, which is like he had some skills that may have been transferable, but he didn't have like direct sales experience. And I mean, he just like jumped into it with 2 feet. And instead of thinking, I might not be good as these people, I might not pick it up as fast as these people, he was looking for every reason for it to work. And now he's, you know, pretty much on the cusp of $10,000 a month consistently now. So instead of him thinking, oh, you know, it might not work because this isn't you know, super transferable to this, and I don't have as much experience as the next guy, and I shouldn't apply to this job because, you know, someone else is going to apply with more experience. He was looking for every reason that it would work, and then he was taking action. And so the guys that like do make it— and I tell you, I tell people this all the time— you can literally force yourself into success in appointment setting. And that's, you know, where you got to start if you don't have any experience. But you can will your way into success. As long as you apply to enough jobs, surround yourself with the right people, and just do not stop. Appointment setting, entry-level role all the time, at least most of the time. And then once you get experience, it just gets easier and easier to secure those roles, to have the safety net in case anything happens, and then to have those connections that can help you in the future. All right, I'm at the gym now. Another reason you're not going to make it potentially is you literally just don't do the work. So many of the guys that I speak to that don't make it in this space, they just don't apply to jobs. They don't take interviews. They don't fix their resume. They don't make time to do the stuff that they need to do. They might be busy. They might have a good excuse. Maybe it's family. Maybe it's work. There's just no way they want it bad enough, to be honest. You want it, you'll find time. When I first got into remote high-ticket sales, I was in roofing sales and I was working both jobs simultaneously. I was working literally like 70 hours a week and I only did that for a month. It was tough, but I was taking interviews and I was filming Loom videos in my roofing van with shingles in the background and shit. And I knew that that wasn't the best look, but it was all that I could do with the time that I had and I wanted it. So I went out and I did that. And a lot of people just aren't willing to do that, to be honest. So if you can hold yourself accountable to do the inputs required to get the outcome, there's a chance you might make it. Anyways, at the gym now.
Let's go hit it.
This, this one might be going into early retirement.
The old whip.
I bought this right before I moved to Austin for the convertible and just a fun little car. But we might have something new coming. Ran into the Setter House boys getting their content.
Let's go.
All right, boys, y'all are both in high ticket sales. We got Noah, we got Cam.
What's up, guys?
They're in this thing for real.
But what are some—
what are some reasons people are not going to make it in high ticket sales? I need one from each of you.
Yeah, I'll go first. I think the first thing is people come into this and think It is a walk in the park. You see $10K month here, $10K month here, $10K month here, and they come into it and think, oh, you know, I can work 2, 3 hours a day and all of a sudden this money is going to be flowing in my bank account. No, this is for the big boys. This is big leagues, especially real offers with people who are making real money. You're not just in this like it's some fairy tale. You need to come into this with the mindset of knowing This is real work and we're changing lives every single day. So you need to realize it's not just some walk in the park. Oh, you know, you sign up for a course and you make $10K a month at the snap of a finger. It'll never be like that. And it really never has been.
Should have known this guy was going to spit.
Yeah, that's good. That's good. For me, I would say you got to be able to handle the no. You're going to get nos left and right and you kind of just got to have that dog in you. And if you can't handle no and handle adversity and perseverance, you're not going to make it. I, uh, not like glazing or anything, but I have like a blue-collar background.
I have a football background.
I know how to handle no. I know how to handle adversity and perseverance. So you got to have that dog in you.
Yeah.
And you got to bark. You got to bark when it's time to bark. If you're going to piss like a puppy, stay on the goddamn porch.
I got another one too, and I like that. Don't piss like a puppy, okay? Never do. But the last thing is true. is get the Lone Ranger, the lone wolf mindset out of your head ASAP. You can never make it in this space by yourself. This is a game of networking. These guys right here are on my network now. I— if I didn't go and say, hey, let me take the risk to come and meet these people, I wouldn't be where I am today. And I'm still on playing level. I'm trying to get up here. You guys need to network. Your net worth is your network, okay? So realise this game is network, community, and true relationships. Start making relationships with every single person. I don't care how cringy it is. I don't care how annoying you might be. It ain't annoying because guess what? The people who are at the top were once you before.
That's fire.
Y'all heard him.
Time for—
Another reason you might not make it in high-ticket sales. This one's a little bit smaller, but you gotta look the part, man. I'm not on sales calls for 6 to 8 hours per day, or else I would probably be a little bit more dressed up than I typically am, or I'd probably put a little bit more effort into my background, uh, to look more like professional. When I was taking these sales calls, I was doing that. I had a degree up on the wall. I had my mic set up all the time. I was always in my office. Now my calls are— they're more internal. They're team calls for the agency, and I'm not the one doing direct selling. And in the rare case that I am, I always do try to just make sure I'm, I'm not in a place that's not fitting. I'm not wearing something that's not fitting. Most of these days, I am able to kind of relax, throw the hat on, throw the plain shirt on, and take calls from wherever just because of position I've worked myself into. But if you're a closer, you're looking for a closing job, you're hopping on interviews with the graphic tee, messy bedroom, all that stuff, man, what are you doing? You got to look the part. You got to play the part. Look good, feel good, perform good. It makes a difference, 100%. Yeah, we're on that mode now. UT is crushing Kentucky right now. I hear the, the drums playing from the band. You guys probably can't hear that, but it's a good sight to see. Another reason you might not make it in high-ticket sales is You literally don't know enough and you don't know what you don't know. So how are you going to figure it out? You don't know anyone that can show you. You don't know anyone that can lead you. And so the way that you see it, you might see it as, hey, I'm one lucky shot away from $10,000 a month, when in reality there's probably hurdles in front of you or speed bumps that you like literally don't know exist. And unfortunately, you're not going to know until you hit them and you experience it the hard way. I'll be honest, man, that's consistent with life. And anything. I mean, if you really want something bad enough, why would you not be connecting with people that have already done it at a high level? Or maybe not even a high level, but a level higher than you. It's a cheat code. You can learn from their mistakes or you can use your time, make the mistakes, lose your money, lose your time, and it just takes longer. You're going to get there either way. Why not take the faster way? So those guys I was with earlier, I was at the gym. They hit me up, hey, are you here? Next thing I know, they're there. Those guys I was with earlier, Cam and Noah, just randomly pulled up to the gym. And I was already there, just got in there. So I did a full workout with them. I mean, those guys are examples of dudes who just—they just took the jump and executed. And now they're both—they moved to beautiful Austin, Texas. We were talking about how awesome is it. Both of these guys are from up north, Minnesota and Iowa, and they're like, "Dude, where else are we gonna be? You know, working out shirts off in like beautiful, sunny, 70-degree weather in late November." Probably a lot of places, but I mean, we're just kind of. Talking about, man, like, man, how awesome is it that we can make a remote income, move to an awesome city like this, have these good vibes around, working out with the boys, you know, having more people move down here. But it's all because they, they saw something, they did their research, and they jumped in with 2 feet and didn't look back. Because those same guys could go halfway in, halfway out, keep their job at home, stay in the hometown, and you could still figure it out that way. It's just, it might take longer. And you might not get there. And these guys committed, and that's why they got where they are. Now, one thing that is not indicative of your success in high-ticket sales is your past experience or where you're from or what language you speak. As long as you do speak English and as long as you can communicate at an okay level, there's opportunity for you. Talked about it before, how, you know, if those things do present themselves in your mind as limiting beliefs, then that's what they're going to be. On the other end, they could be presented in ways in which you're unique, in ways in which show that you are going to work harder than the average person. By no means, man. Like some of the best sales reps that I know in this space, the thickest European accents you'll ever hear in your life. And they're selling to Americans. You would think maybe that's something that holds people up and maybe initially it does, but some of the best sales trainers, closers, accents European, not American, different time zones, all that kind of stuff. I also know guys, man, in our agency, we just took on our first coaching client basically going to help this high-level closer get up to the point of being able to run a sales agency. We're working with him for 6 months, one-on-one, and it's not a cheap program, but the kid's 21 and he was making $30K+ per month closing. There's other people out there that are 23, 24, 25, and they're thinking, dude, I'm just too young. Like, I can't, I can't make it work because I'm too young. Like, nobody takes me seriously. And, you know, to an extent that may be true, but how is this kid who's 21 figuring it out? How is he making $30K+ a month? How did he just pay To work one-on-one with Cole and I at the agency to learn how to grow a sales agency. Like by the time this kid is 25, or I'm 26 now, by the time he's 26 and my age, holy shit, he's going to be lapping a lot of people. Now here's why you need to get past the stage of potentially not making it is because Cam community member interview will probably drop. It's long overdue, but it'll probably drop after this video. We were talking about on there, it's The doors that open up once you once you can get this skill set of making money online through appointment setting or through closing, and you have a little bit of a network, the doors that open up are insane. The opportunity that opens up is life-changing many times over. I mean, the ability to make money online from wherever you want is that it is life. But what comes after that? What comes six months, twelve months after that? Your life can look completely different if you can get past the point. Point of not gonna make it. Most people do not get past the point of not gonna make it, and that's why if you look at any of the ads that I run on my Instagram, any of the stuff—it's mostly Instagram and TikTok. People are like, scam, nice try, Diddy, all this shit. Like, I don't know. I mean, not saying they're not capable of making it; it's just like your perception is your reality, and there's no way you're gonna make it in remote sales if you don't believe that you can make it in remote sales. And it's kind of crazy that people comment stuff like that. In 2024, when they know things are being sold at a high level and there's people selling it, making commissions, or maybe they don't know, but they should. And it sucks that they don't. Just the reality of it. Look at this sunset, man. I'm getting cozy over here. Yeah, boys, don't cope. Everything that you're seeing online, all these, you know, high-ticket setters, closers, the guys running the communities, the agencies, it's all real. And the reason, if you're not there yet, the reason You're not there is because this is where you are, this is where you want to be. Between here, there's a whole lot of ambiguity on how to do this, and you need to figure out what that is. It might be through paying someone, it might be through trial and error, it might be through talking to your friend who's already doing it. But that's, that's the difference between someone who's gonna make it, someone who's not gonna make it. They figure it out. There's an easy way, there's a hard way, there's a slow way, there's a fast way. As long as you get there, it doesn't matter. But why make it take longer if it doesn't have to take longer? It's a good place to wrap up this video. So I'm gonna go do some work, uh, probably eat some dinner, hang out, watch a movie maybe later. But appreciate you guys watching. Again, we do got my boy Tony who's gonna move down, full-time videographer, gonna really start documenting some stuff. Might be building a new business here soon, want to document that on here, um, kind of branch out not just outside the sales stuff but show you guys What can happen if you figure out high-ticket sales? I was just telling you about the possibilities. I might be spinning up a new business here with someone I met through my own community, and I thought it'd be cool to live document building that. And it's not going to be off personal brand. It would be completely different. A lot of big stuff coming. If you guys have any direct questions about landing remote sales jobs, quitting your job, doing due diligence on remote sales jobs, anything like that, throw them in the comments. I will try to respond to every single comment. I say that like I get a million, but usually like 3 comments or so. I'll respond to all the comments. I appreciate you guys watching. Let me know as we start to scale up the YouTube, let me know what you guys want to see. Try to keep it real raw, but yeah, we'll take it from there. Appreciate you.
Bye.
