I don't think this is news to y'all, but I work with a lot of salespeople to get sales jobs, and most people think it's way harder than it actually is. They think, oh, I don't have the experience, or oh, this person's better than me, so I shouldn't apply, or my chances are low. And you know, that stuff kind of matters, but you guys honestly might be surprised by what matters more. This is specifically for the individual contributor, so like setter, SDR, closer, account executive. You can get a lot of these opportunities by simply not messing it up. Not messing up your resume, not messing up an interview, not messing up with what you wear on the interview. The average person doesn't understand how normal, regular stuff plays such a role. If you shoot enough shots at quality opportunities and you just don't mess them up, you are bound to win at some point. So stop hyperfixating on all the little stuff that moves 1% of 1%. Just immediately get to a passing grade by doing the basics better than most people. If you're not following me, give me a follow for more sales content.
