Why you can't land "good" jobs in high-ticket sales

In this video Dylan Vergara explains why aspiring high‑ticket sales reps struggle to find lucrative remote appointment‑setting and closing roles. He shows that the most profitable offers—companies generating $750K‑$30M+ in monthly revenue—spend massive ad budgets and need sales talent that can instantly convert leads, making time literally money. Traditional hiring (public job boards, cold outreach) is inefficient for these firms because vetting, training, and mismatched expectations cost them thousands daily. Consequently, they turn to exclusive, paid networks and referral circles where vetted reps are ready to work as 1099 commission‑only contractors. Vergara outlines the win‑win‑win benefits for the hiring company, the network connector, and the sales rep, emphasizing speed, quality, and reduced hiring overhead. He then advises reps to build and join such private groups, invest in reputable communities, and adopt a relentless, network‑first mindset. The bulk of the video promotes his Serial Sales Community—a structured program with a 20‑hour course, a marketplace of vetted jobs, personal client success managers, and a “success gauntlet” that has placed over 250 reps in high‑ticket roles. He shares multiple success stories (e.g., 19‑year‑old closing $18K/month, reps earning $10K‑$30K OTE) to illustrate the community’s impact. Finally, he provides a clear call to action: visit serialsalescommunity.co, view social proof, book a call, and join the community for accountability, ongoing support, and direct access to high‑ticket opportunities.

What's up, you guys? Long-awaited video here over a question and topic that I get asked about a lot. It's like, dude, I'm coming into this space, I'm joining the Facebook groups, I'm doing my Instagram DMs, I'm doing my outreach, but I just can't seem to find a good offer. Like the offers that I know are out there, the ones where everyone's making $10,000, $20,000 a month. Commissions, and it can be frustrating. Maybe you've been hit with the bait and switch of like, yeah, I got this crazy offer. They get back to your message suspiciously fast and come to find out you actually need to buy their training in order to qualify for the offer, which is a really strange funnel that some of these people run to sell their training. But anyways, Either you have sales experience and you're like, dude, I have experience. Like, I just don't understand why I'm not finding the good offers. Or you've been in the space for a little bit now. You've had an offer, 2 offers, and they're just shit. Like, they're not the ones that you know are out there. It's frustrating. So this video is going to be on why the industry's best remote appointment setting and closing jobs are solely found within exclusive networks and paid groups. And if you're watching this, unless you just love watching my videos, you're probably not in any of these yet. So hopefully some good insights for you guys here, but let's, let's dive into things. And I put a lot of like prep into this. So I tried to like really step by step, break it down, build it out and show you guys what why this happens and where the value is for you as a sales rep. So we're talking about in the high-ticket space, we're talking about coaching, consulting, service-based companies that are high cash flow. We're talking about the ones where you go in as a sales rep and without a doubt, if you perform, you're earning $10,000 plus per month in commissions. These companies are, a lot of them are bootstrapped. They're high cash flowing, high ticket. Time is literally money for these companies. And so a A lot of them are spending thousands of dollars, sometimes tens of thousands of dollars per day in ads. And they're collecting a lot of money in return. Like they're profitable on their ads or they wouldn't be doing this. And, you know, if they're doing $30K per day, they're doing $900K per month. Those are the good offers, right? Like the, I'd say $750K per month and above into the multimillions. Those are the offers where without a doubt you get in there. And you're gonna make some money. Okay, so high cash flow. They are continuously, continuously cycling between scaling and hiring. And amidst the cycle of scale, they always are facing the same problems. It's either one, they're lacking calendar space because they've pushed too many dollars into marketing and now they have too many leads, or the lack of closed deals. Both of these Lose the company a lot of money. A lot of money. Like if we have one day where we've upped the ad budget by— we just boosted the ad budget $3,000 and we don't have the calendar space, like we just lost $3,000. So time really, really is money for these companies that are doing $750K a month plus. This is a problem that needs to be fixed ASAP because if the ad spend is still deploying at scale, it's a bad situation. So solution, duh, hiring more sales talent. However, hiring the right sales rep can be difficult and it can cost a company a lot of money if done incorrectly. So, you know, they have to train people, they have to invest time into each new hire. They have to hire people that can plug in and go, like they understand the industry, the niche, how to do this, how to provide the service. They understand how to manage expectations. And this goes both ways, right? Like the sales reps have to have proper expectations of the business and the business vice versa. And they have to find talent because there's a lot of good salespeople out there, but a lot of them are too tied to their their cozy base and their benefits and all that stuff. There's nothing wrong with that, but they need to find people that are— they're cool with going 1099, which is difficult in some cases. So this is a process that can take 1 week, 2 weeks for a manager to complete, which is probably not the best use of their time. Or they go to people in the space who have a network of Setters, closers, sales reps who are ready to go, such as myself. These are people who understand the 1 or 2 call structure very well. They have manageable expectations around being a 1099 rep or being commission only. They've already bought into finding success. So if they've paid to get into some exclusive network, they are more incentivized to make this work than someone who Is in car sales right now and like kind of wants to do high-ticket sales and they're expecting the 1099 aspect. They're okay with little to no base. Again, a lot of people just aren't okay with that. They're not cool with leaving the cushy corporate job. So finding people that are off the bat, everyone you speak to is cool with that. It's valuable. Now, other perks for the sales manager slash offer owners in this case, People like myself, we have reps on tap. Like if someone came to me and they had a badass closer role to fill, I could send them 20 applicants within the hour of people who have closed X amount, right? There's less time for them vetting candidates on some of the preliminary stuff. Like, are you cool with being 1099? Do you know this is commission only? All that stuff. It's a win-win-win situation, which is like a really, really big part of this. But The business wins because they get a sales rep that makes them money. The sales rep wins because they're making money. They have a packed calendar and the person who makes the connection, usually the program owner or the coach, win because their student is making money. So it's a win-win-win situation. Everybody wins. And the reps can plug in extremely quickly. So they're already trained up on how to run this type of sales process. They can ramp up in, let's call it, 3 days versus someone who's coming from a different industry is going to take a lot longer because not only do they have to learn the thing that they're selling, they have to learn this model of the high-ticket 1 or 2 call close. So at this point, there's no longer a need for sifting through a shit ton of applications. As a manager, because that sucks. Selling people on the concept of 1099 sales, wasting time with Trojan horse candidates who, you know, on the, on the outside looking in or on paper, they look good, but you get on a call with them and you're like, dude, can this call end? We don't want that happening. And you don't have to worry about people not hitting KPIs and then having to spend more time. Well, not only offboarding, but finding someone else, onboarding, training them up. And you don't have to split your focus between hiring and sales efforts. So like, this is overall just a pretty low leverage task for a sales manager to be doing once you get to the point where time literally becomes money like it is with these big companies. So scroll up, got another column here. So instead, the company can maintain their growth trajectory. And they're no longer burning their ad budget by going to people with these networks who are already warmed up and coached up. So what does this mean for you as a rep? Absolutely, yes, you can do this as a lone wolf. But getting into exclusive networks pays off 100 times over, because you then have inbound flow of quality job opportunities, which is, you know, arguably the most valuable, you You've got a network of reps who are on these opportunities who are making the $10,000 to $15,000 to $20,000+ per month. These are switched, but you've got recommendations into these desired positions, which is massive. And you get to learn from people who are a step or two ahead of you. Now, when a high-performing team is hiring, and let's just go for the sake of the example again, $750,000 a month and above. When they're hiring salespeople, this is what they do. It's one of these 3 things. They're either— well, they'll probably start with this because it's easiest. They're going to ask their existing team if they know someone who's good, because that is the easiest for them to do. They just send a little Slack message. And a lot of these guys have friends who would jump at a good opportunity. So this is what they start with. Next. They're gonna go here, which is, again, it's a matter of sending a message, a text, but asking program owners for a recommendation, asking the owners of a community to post something in there or refer someone over. This is free and it's fast. The last thing, if it's a difficult hire to make, instead of spending their time interviewing and training, well, they have to train either way, but interviewing and making the job postings and screening and all that. They're going to hire someone to do it for them, like literally a done-for-you service. The last thing they want to do is spend their time hiring. Blasting a high-quality opportunity out to a Facebook group or a broad audience is extremely low leverage. This is what I mean. So these are some messages that I've got. I just did a quick keyword search on Twitter, some iMessage. Hey Dylan, hope all is well, man. We're looking for a couple setters and 2 closers if you got some in your community. I'm looking for killer appointment setters right now with real experience. OTE is $10K, on-target earnings, $10K per month. Um, this guy made a tweet over here. Setters earning $6K to $8K, closers earning $20K to $30K. Anyone you love for this right now? He literally sends me the tweet and asks. Um, tons of leads, setters aren't there. You got someone. Another guy who needs an AE closer. Looking for a new closer for this $5,000 to $10,000 ticket size. We'll pay 15% commission. There's a lot of these guys, a lot of these. And even, I mean, hey man, my reps consistently hit $50,000 a month and it's getting quite difficult to find the best reps out there. Any chance you can source that caliber? And this is just as a result of like having a presence online, because like if you're lone wolfing it, you're not getting this, right? So there's, there's definitely value in that. Now scrolling back up here, guys, if you're newer or not yet where you want to be in this space, the first thing I would do is I would establish a network of people doing this. And when I came into the space, I spent loads of money doing this, and I think that's why I found success pretty quickly. It took me less than a month to get within my first role. It was a trial, but establish a network of other people doing this. You get in proximity to big accounts with inbound requests. A lot of this stuff, guys, is ran off social media. So getting close, getting on first name basis with someone like myself and a lot of these other guys. It pays off. Becoming known. Don't be a ghost. When somebody comes to me with a closing rule that has a $15K per month OTE, there's always like 5 to 10 guys that I think of right off the top of my head that I want to run this by because I just, I want to help people out that are, you know, showing up, contributing. So if you can become one of those people that are considered immediately, Not even just with someone like myself, but like with other sales reps, like huge value in that. And then you need to like become consumed. You need to apply yourself, apply to jobs, go hard, like become obsessed with this stuff. The guys that come in and get the best results, they're lunatics. Like they come in and this is all they eat, sleep, and breathe. Don't take it from me though, guys. Take it from Sham. He's 19 years old, just hit his first $18K per $18K month closing. He posted in the community his win here. Stick with it, guys. 9 months after getting into this space, 4 offers later, I landed an offer last month and cleared $18K in commission. He's 19 years old, dude. I don't know what the hell I'd do with $18K at 19 years old in a month. He also posted a thread here. Go give him a follow. If you're in high-ticket sales, I couldn't break past $5K for 9 months. Last month I made $18K. Here's what I wish I knew before I started and continuation of the thread. The very first thing, network. In this space, network matters more than anything else. The best slash most lucrative opportunities are being found through private groups and connections. Literally the title of the video or the headline or whatever. Find your balls, pick up your credit card, invest in yourself, join these networks, but make sure they're reputable. And this again, this is what I did when I came into the space. Now, sham, you know, that's his story. But, you know, Vance, another guy came into the community, landed a role within 12 days, took it to Twitter. 12 days in, lots of connections. One of the first things that he says, accepted an offer to work with a $5 million per month company. Rest of the community, straight wizards. Cool. But this opportunity, while it was good, it wasn't necessarily the one that he was looking for. Kept applying, landed a closing role. Literally week 2, bro. $8,000 commissions. We did it big this week. 4 PIFs, $8,000 commission. Second week live at a high-ticket sales closing offer. Although this may seem braggadocious, I just wanna share so you know the value that this community has and let the new people joining us know that they can— typo here, but Yeah, so value this community has. Note lots of connections, value the community. And Vance is he's a lunatic. Like he came in and just went crazy. So good example there. But for you lone wolfers, this video is over. It's time to go send more cold Instagram DMs to fitness coaches. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's time to go do that again. It's time to go. Dig through the Facebook groups and message people who haven't— don't know what the hell they're doing. I don't even know. Like, for you guys that don't want to solve this problem, you can stop here. This is why the best roles are found in these groups. If you want a solution to this problem, stay just a few more minutes. I'll give you one. Okay. Sales Community, guys, been running this for over a year now. August 2022 is when I started it. Now the focus inside has been and will be network first. Then we wanna set realistic expectations, whether you're coming from one job, looking to go into another, looking to go part-time, looking to make a certain amount of money by X amount of time. What's really important to me is setting realistic expectations and not putting anybody in a situation where they commit too soon. They jump into an opportunity that's not quality and they put themselves into an awkward, uncomfortable situation where you have to go beg for an old job back or move back in with your parents or something like that. That's— we don't want any of that. Then we want to get you hired. We want to make sure that you can leverage up until you're making your desired income. Because look, if you have no sales experience, but you want to make 15 grand a month, You're not gonna do that in month 1, probably not gonna do it in month 2. If you have a sales experience, it can happen like I just showed you, Vance. But we work with you guys to make sure that you leverage up into your desired position. We wanna make sure that obviously you guys can perform, but I know tons of guys who are really good at sales, but they don't know the right people. They're not in the right circles and they don't get exposure to good opportunities. So this is important. And we also wanna make sure that you have the ongoing support to get better, leverage up into better roles, and figure out difficult situations when they come to you. So there's a reason why I've called it a community and not a course. While there is a 20-hour course in there, it's super dense, lots of material, sales training, marketplace training, all that stuff. The course is just information. You could go through that, do nothing. You're still in the same spot. The community is implementation. And I've gotten hundreds of sales reps hired, like over 250 now. We have it down to a science. Each member that comes in, we put you guys through now like a structured success gauntlet, I call it. Each member getting a personal client success manager. This is a little bit of the structure that the CSM is held accountable for to make sure that you're moving through things. Also, you're watching this on YouTube right now. You're literally probably like 3 clicks away from getting to this playlist and seeing how John broke $10K a month in 90 days, how Dennis earned $18K in month 1 from a job he found in the community. George made $200K his first year. Marco went from $0 to $3,300 in a week in under 60 days. And a few other, you see 21 in there. Adding a new one soon. And we moved from Slack to this school platform in July. And in that time, we posted 371 jobs. As you can see, more volume here than anywhere else, because that's the focus, man. I want to get you guys hired. I want to get you guys quick wins, get you in the first opportunity so that way you can get into the better ones sooner, make some commissions, get some proof of concept. And then go all in. Little keyword search on the MacBook. I go this Mac hired bunch of screenshots, not including like the ones on my phone. My Instagram story, if you don't follow me there, serial sales just like everywhere else. But you can click here until your thumbs hurt. Let's take it back up. And so if you made it this far, guys, absolutely. You can keep messaging fitness coaches on Instagram, hoping that you don't talk to a setter, hoping you don't get left on read. You literally spend hours per day doing that. Send 200 messages, get like 3 responses, maybe 5 responses, maybe 10 responses. But like half of those are the appointment setters. Like the appointment setters say, oh yeah, I'll pass along your message. No, the hell they don't. Those owners have no idea who you are. They're not passing on any messages. Mm-hmm. So you can go do this yourself, go dig through the Facebook groups, go connect with people that have no idea what the hell they're doing, or bite the bullet, invest into yourself, invest into your network, make it happen faster, make it last longer. No more being alone. No more uncertainty around jobs, interviews, anything, vetting offers. No more downtime between offers because you are now the guy. that people think of when there's an open setting or closing role. No bad offers, because if a bad offer is sent in the community, it's deleted within 10 minutes. No more lack of accountability. Because look, man, I know you're probably in a job right now. Maybe it's a sales job, maybe it's not. You're probably making okay money. You live, bills are paid, but you know you're not— you know you don't love it. There's a reason you're following me. There's a reason you're watching this video. If you don't do your 20 outreaches to e-com coaches on Instagram today, like nobody's gonna hold you accountable. So I don't know, like you don't have to do it. It's easier not to do it, right? So you get in a community, not even mine, just like a community, you're gonna have accountability. You're gonna see these guys crushing it. You're gonna have this fire under your ass to start doing the shit you're supposed to do. No more hopeless prospecting. Stop starting from zero because maybe you spent 3 weeks prospecting to land on an offer. You get on it, it's garbage, you offboard and you're literally back to square one. You have nobody to reach out to, nobody to consult with. You don't even know if you're doing the right thing. You're wasting your time. And if your goal is to get in here, get into the space, close and make $10K a month, and that's just like the starting point, 2 weeks downtime, like you're literally losing out on $5,000. It's going to somebody else. Because they got connected to the right people and the right opportunities. And so you're gonna keep starting over and over and over from zero because you are stubborn and you wanna be lone wolf cuz you think it's cool. No more guessing, no more shooting in the dark, no more wondering what happens if I landed a job in 30 days? What happens if I started making $5K a month part-time? And then I could go full-time and make $10K a month. No more wondering, like, it can happen. It will happen. Instead, get peace of mind, get clarity, network of sales pros, get opportunities thrown in front of you, create the remote income, create flexibility, and have control. Have a pulse. So it's time, guys. You made it this far. By now you may have been to this website. If you haven't, it's going to be linked below, serialsalescommunity.co. If you want to see an egregious amount of social proof of people getting hired, getting paid, quitting their jobs, wins like that. And if you have any questions, I'd encourage you to reach out to me directly. We can chat on Twitter, Instagram, even email if you like. Instagram is probably the best place. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer. And if you watch this video and you're like, dude, I was needing this yesterday, I've already been considering hopping in, and you're ready to hop in, go to the description. There's a link to the book. There's a link to book a call to talk with me. Not a closer. Talk with me. If you're not a good fit, I'm not going to sell you anything. If you are a good fit, we're just gonna do what makes the most sense for you. And book a call here or go to the page here, go see the social proof, go basically convince yourself that there's no reality in which this doesn't work if you apply yourself and then book the call. And then we'll talk, we'll talk directly. So if you guys made it this far, I mean, if you stopped watching here, you're not seeing this part. You're probably already in the community. You're already connected to people. You're just interested in this video. If you watched all this part and this stuff is resonating with you, I'd encourage you to take action and not even necessarily with me, but like take action somewhere with somebody because high ticket salesman, you're not finding these jobs. You can find some LinkedIn, Indeed, stuff like that. Like maybe a recruiter will reach out to you, probably not, but like The best jobs, man, they're not, they're not being blasted out where your, your software sales jobs are, your medical device sales, your solar sales jobs. So it pays many times over to get connected. And that's all I got to say on that. So any questions, guys? Again, reach me on Twitter, Instagram, @CerealSales, or email me. And we'll take it from there. But hope to talk to you guys soon. Let me know in the comments, uh, if this is good, if you want more like this. Um, if you have any questions, let me know in the comments. Peace. Bye.
