Hey, this is Dr. Tory with ProductivityPearls.com today's tip is all about rest and recovery. Now if you were to look at super gifted athletes, they are, you know, they often have coaches, right? And the coaches sometimes focus on the mechanics. Maybe the way they shoot, maybe the way they drop back to throw a pass, whatever it is, they focus a little bit on the mechanics. But a big portion of their coaching actually comes in rest and relaxation. They actually have to coach those gifted athletes on how to rest, how to relax, how to recover. The reason is that sometimes they get so focused on the goal, so focused on their skill that they're practicing that they actually, they sacrifice the rest and relaxation portion. The rest and recovery time is super important for your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind needs that time. If you've ever been in the shower and all of a sudden had a eureka moment, like, oh, wow, there it is, you know what that was? That wasn't a eureka moment. That was actually a hunch that was building up over time that your subconscious mind put this piece with this piece, with this piece, with this piece and bam, brought it together for, for a eureka moment that we experience as a eureka moment. It really wasn't that at all. It was that time away from the task that your subconscious mind was processing things, piecing together things. And then it occurred to you in the shower, or it occurred to you while you were driving, or it occurred to you when you were doing something completely different. That is your subconscious mind at work. And you better not do it a disservice by constantly being busy. If you're constantly busy, then you're not actually optimizing that time for your subconscious mind to put pieces together. You need to rest and recover. And the best way to do that is right now, after this video. Schedule that time. Schedule it. Schedule a time. Even if it's a 20 minute break to go for a walk while you're at work, a 20 minute break to go for a run, a 20 minute break to do some pleasure reading, a 20 minute break to do nothing. Sit around. That is actually crucial for the work that you do. It's crucial for productivity and it's crucial for your subconscious mind. So go ahead, pull out your calendar. If you don't have one, you should pull out your calendar and schedule the rest and relaxation time and make it sacred. That's your tip for today from productivitypearls.com.
