Dripping inventory to your own address before sending it to Amazon adds unnecessary freight costs for most sellers. Only consider it if you're growing 100-200% year-over-year or facing stockout risk during peak seasons. Direct shipment from supplier to Amazon is cheaper in normal circumstances.

All right, so I'm officially almost done dripping all of the inventory that I had for Q4 into Amazon now that it's February. And the thing is, dripping is great if you can't forecast demand. And what dripping means is instead of going ahead and having extra inventory at my supplier, I go ahead and get it shipped to myself. I have the space in my garage, and if I do run out of stock, I can quickly go ahead and start shipping stuff into Amazon. And the reason why I don't suggest 99% of people going ahead and doing this is because it's just an unnecessary expense, right? Like, my freight forwarder charges me already a certain price to go from China to the US, and by me going ahead and getting it shipped to my address, now I have to go ahead and get it shipped to Amazon, which is obviously an extra cost. So you only do this if you're growing like crazy year on year, maybe 100-200%, but once you can go ahead and kind of figure out supply chain You're going to save so much money by just going straight from your supplier to Amazon. Again, only do this if you know you might run out of stock during the summertime.
