My name is. Is David Tswood with my friend Eric.
Can I have initials? Can I?
Yeah, yeah. What's your middle name? I don't have a middle name.
I'm just gonna have to go with X. Eric X. Ed means.
Okay, X. We'll ask people to put a word in what they think it means. Yeah. You know, we're back with the reviews of these incredible talks, and I'm really excited about this one because I, you know, you kind of. I wouldn't say you threw her under the bus, but you certainly tested her because, you know, there's that thing about practice, and people get ready to get ready, and they're ready, but then something comes along and throws them off kilter slightly. Then they're not ready, you know, or the. The PowerPoint doesn't work. You know, this is not about all that. It's about having those skills that you can. You can step in and you can sort of turn left or right with ease because you have the skills. Isn't that right?
Yeah. I think that without giving too much away, you'll see that something goes wrong. And not only does she handle it like a pro, but she utilizes it for a good laugh. And that's really going to be fun. So let's. Let's. Let's roll this one.
Let's roll it.
It's still Friday evening. Me and my. Some. Some of my friends are over. We're having a beautiful dinner, but my boyfriend, he's not at home. As my friends, they know. They know that we've had some very difficult times in our relationship lately. And they were like, the whole evening they were asking Tali, how are you guys doing? Are you doing better? Are you going better? Please tell me you're not breaking up, because you can't break up. You two are like a dream couple. And if you guys are breaking up, then what's the hope for us? I'm like, chill, babe. We're doing good. We've hit the rock bottom, and now it's all love and light. Well, that's what I thought. The evening ended. Friends left, boyfriend came home, and even though it was quite late, it was almost midnight. He was serious, and they Said, honey, we need to talk. You know when your boyfriend says to you that we need to talk, there's never a good news. So I was like, okay, okay. I know, I know. I got it, I got it. I'm a spiritual person. I know I hold my temper. Let's talk, honey, what do you want to talk about? My love? I've come to a realization that our relationship has come to an end. I was like, no, no. Like no, no, no, no, no, no, no. We can't break up. We can't break up. We are the dream couple. We can't break up. Like we have to change the dynamics. Remember? We have to change the dynamics, not the person. We don't have to change each other. We just have to say change the dynamic. Like please don't, like please, honey, please don't give up yet. He did. My dream guy gave up the next three months. It was so. The next three months were so, so, so. I mean it was the most difficult time in my life. Not only my heart was broken, but also my five years old sons. He was asking me like hundreds of times a day, mommy, what happened? Why did he left? When will he be back? Mommy, what did you do? Or was it my fault? I was so sad and the same time I was so mad. I was mad at the universe. I was like, why are you doing this to me? Why are you taking my dreams from me? Why are you teasing? Why are you putting me and my son into the situation? I was so, so angry. I don't know how about you guys, but I had this one friend who's always there for me for the words of wisdom. This time also he was looking me, listening to my angriness and he says, take him out of the equation. I was like, what? Take him out of the equation. Don't focus him, focus on your dreams. Don't put these two together. I even didn't realize that I've put my dreams and him together and became arrogant to say to the universe how he has to land my dreams. But boy, this was a difficult task to do because he was my dream. He was my dream guy. He was my dream love. This was my dream relationship. But the moment I did it, the moment I was able to separate these two and focus only on my dreams and blindly trusted the universe was the moment I found my happiness again and was also the moment I got him back. Dolly, that was beautiful. And clearly you're very prepared. Having to jump up here last minute and then to be able to handle that little glitch. With such professionalism and throw it back into your presentation by it's still Friday. That set the tone for the whole thing. Great job.
Yeah, it was. The humor you have is very special. And again, that. Even that. Again, the way you started, but all the way through. But what I love was your range. I was always on the journey with you, and I really felt the things you were feeling, and it wasn't overdone. And I think it's very, very easy to be overdone. And part of that, again, is that magical ability to have pauses to allow us to feel what you're feeling. Really, it's really lovely to listen to you.
Thank you.
Dolly.
That was fantastic. It was excellent. It was smooth. It was flowing right from. Didn't your microphone mess up in round one today, too? Again, it's almost like it's on purpose. You handled it so well. Like, not simply handling it well, but then using it. This is exactly what we talk about, utilization and improv. Accept what's happening and go with it. That's aikido. That's what you did. It was fantastic. And then you spin this story and you take us on a journey and. And we feel that. That. That please don't leave me thing. I felt like I was going to cry. Like, I was like, don't leave me either. It was amazing. And then to end it so poignantly, like, when you find your happiness, things do turn around. And then the cute little bonus, the way you landed it, I just. I'm so proud of you. And I want to say one more thing to you. Speak in English everywhere. You understand what I'm saying to you? You understand? I mean, I'm very happy to listen to you in Estonian as well. I'm just telling you, you deliver in English gorgeously, beautifully, clearly and powerfully. Well done.
Thank you.
Yeah, Dali was so lovely there, and I love the twist at the end, but there's that little look in her eye. But going back through the whole piece, I mean, the relatability, if we had to call a word a relatability of that sense that she had and the way she explained it, I mean, it was fantastic to listen to, wasn't it?
Yeah. And I can tell you, I live part of it because she and that boyfriend came to visit us over the holidays over Christmas, and we got to spend a lot of time with them, and it was really special. Dolly did some great things in that. First of all, she has a very clear sense of style. She has, in a sense, a personal brand. She shows up as Dali. And she lives like that. It's really. It's. It's authentically her. She looks fantastic.
She.
She just carries off that style really nicely. But that thing, that relatability, it's not just in her energy. It's in the way she even told the story. Like, when she's saying, don't give up on us, like, I feel the emotion. I can feel the goosebumps. Like, I can. And it felt like she might cry. It felt like the emo. And, you know, that falls into that principle we so often talk about in Speaker Nation, that if you want the audience to feel something, then you need to feel that something. What you're feeling, they will feel. And I think she did a great job of making us feel.
Yeah. And she used pauses so. Well, again, every. The pause is such. It can be in the beginning. Most people want to fill the space with noise. Right. But when we start to understand the power of that pause and what can happen in it, where people's minds go, you know, you leave that gap there for the audience to go wherever they want, and then you can bring them back.
Right. Yeah. I also want to point something else out about this particular review. And I think all of the ones that we've done so far, these talks were done by people who didn't know for sure that they were going to be speaking. This is an important thing. When they were at this particular event, it was quite random as to who was going to be presenting. So they were going from being in the audience to having to walk on stage and know that they were presenting. Some of them found out the minute they walked in the room, and some of them found out 30 seconds before they were walking on. And she's one of those. It was. And it does not show. That's why I kind of have to mention it, because it doesn't show that that was her experience at all. She really handled that like a pro.
Yeah. And I think, again, going back to the philosophies around Speaker Nation, how this all translates back into life, how we live, how we wake up, how we move through life, how we can accept what's really happening and navigate those things versus wishing everything was the way we expected it to be. Right. So. Yeah. So, you know, I want to go back and keep reminding you as you're watching these reviews and. And seeing yourself seeing your story, the story that you're living and the story from your past and the importance of that story. We like to call it the Rembrandt in the Attic. And we can't wait to hear your story.
