Cardio won't kill your muscle if you eat enough calories and protein. Aim for one gram of protein per pound of body weight daily, plus 20-40g around workouts. Lift heavy in the 5-10 rep range instead of light, high-rep sets.

Cardio will not kill your gains if you do these three things. Number one, eat enough food. The more exercise you do, the more fuel you need. And on days you do long runs or cardio and weights in the same day, eat more calories those days. Number two, eat enough protein. However much you want to weigh. In pounds, eat that in grams of protein per day, and try to get 20 to 40 grams pre and post workout. Third, stop lifting light weights. Doing 12, 15, 20 reps is just more cardio, so lift heavier for 5 to 10 reps. And if you need to use my free calorie calculator, click this link in my bio.
