¡Hola! ¿Qué tal? Happy weekend. It is actually Friday night for us. I know it's Sunday while you guys are watching this, but it's Friday night for us, and we have our annual Toronto Dance Salsa Halloween party, and I thought I would take you behind the scenes of what we're doing, what we're dressing up, and share in the fun of what we do today. Tonight, so here we go. What are we gonna be this year? We're gonna be ninja!
I'm a ninja! Yo, we're tossing on ninja!
Ninjas don't do this. Ninjas don't do this. This says ninja in Chinese.
Well, Chinese and Japanese.
I know because I can speak Chinese.
Sure.
Or I married a Chinese person. I like how your mask goes all the way. Yeah, mine like— hello. We're fully in Yeah! Ninja style. We need salsa-friendly costumes. Look at Nina's eyes.
Ninja!
So we gotta go eat in our ninja outfits. Why do I do this with the ninja?
I don't know. This is not a ninja.
What do you do with ninja?
Ninja is— I don't know. Okay.
We gotta go eat and then get to the club to teach a lesson in our ninja outfits. So every year, Nina picks our costumes. She does all the work. I don't think this year she even told me what it was. No, she didn't.
I did.
No, you didn't tell me until it came. I didn't even—
No, I did. I told you. Yes, I did.
I totally remembered that too. So, uh— Oh, that smells really bad. So Nina does all the work because if it were up to me, I would probably just go as a baseball player every year or something. Something simple. But I appreciate all the work. I gotta tell you, these things feel like I'm in pajamas. These are really comfortable. I might have to wear ninja pajamas now.
No, 'cause those, uh—
It's really comfortable. Nylon? Nylon. I don't know what it is, but it's really comfortable. It's really comfortable. Okay, to the car, some food.
Mine's— mine's are too loose. I have to sew it.
Okay, just— good.
Don't— Oh, I just—
I just have to put on some weight.
No, don't get weight! I just have to put on some weight. No! That's not the answer.
It's not the answer. Okay, let's get some food. Let's get some nice food and then head to TDS. Not TDS, Uptown Loft. Uptown Loft for our party. Yeah! So it's kind of a tradition for us on Uptown Loft salsa party nights that we go to Kenzo Ramen and have some Kenzo Ramen. It's Korean, right?
Uh, well, it's supposed to be Japanese.
It's supposed to be Japanese. A couple of ninjas going to a Japanese restaurant. So Nina is having— what is this?
Ramen.
Really?
I don't know.
That's all you have?
It's ramen? Shoyu ramen.
Ramen. And I have the Japanese curry with some yummy soup and salad. Dig in. Done.
That was yummy.
We're in the middle of the street, jaywalking to get to Uptown Loft. There goes Nina. Run, Nina, run! Run, Nina, run! This is it, the Uptown Loft. We hold parties here usually about twice a month. We have a couple big parties every year. We have the Halloween party, we've got the Valentine's party. Any other big parties? Christmas we usually do at TBS. Look at these decorations.
Hello!
What's up, man? We got witches and bats and skeletons and spider webs. Oh, and red lights. Look at that. Very bloody. I like it, man. So, you know, I gotta get set up, teach our combo, and then continue on with the night. Shall we begin? Rosanna is a— Evan! What's up?
Wings are falling!
I say butterfly. Ladybug!
A ladybug!
Rosanna's a ladybug. Alex is a unicorn.
Watch the wings fly. Watch the wings fly.
Watch the wings fly.
What? Isn't she hot?
I Love Lucy. I love Lily. I love Lily Lucy. What's happening? There's Stephanie. Stephanie's a pilot. Whoa, Michael Ash! What's up, man? He's a police. I love it. Ninja Nina. Yeah, violence.
What's happening?
I didn't notice the mouth before. And the horn. No, but this is a mouth. It's a mouth. Oh yeah, yeah, it is. Yeah, this is, this is to catch SiriusXM radio.
It's a satellite.
Oh, okay. Let's hear some radio.
I'm jamming right now. You can't hear it, but— oh! Backstreet Boys!
Backstreet Boys!
Happy Halloween! Costume contest. This is going to be legendary.
Fernando, our up-and-coming bachata instructor, doing some Michael Jackson moves. We brought some musical instruments from Cuba. Customized. Look at that. Oh yeah. Nice. You're gonna have to play it. I love it. Thanks, man. I love it. We are done. We are done. What time is it? It's actually not that late. We're done. That was a good night. How you feeling, Nina?
Oh, oh, sorry, I thought you were just talking to me. I didn't know that you're filming it. I'm good.
Wow, look at that, you're in a great mood. Nina's in such a great mood now that the camera's been turned on. Look at the picture. Let me see the picture. What we got going on here?
Oh, here, that's me and Rizal.
Let's zoom that in. Put that in. There you go. Look at that, my ninja, my Chinese ninja. We're going home. Message of the day you want to close on here?
What's it? Have fun all the time. What?
I like that message.
It is. Have fun. You gotta have fun all the time. Doesn't matter whether it's Halloween. Dress up anytime.
Have fun all the time. I feel like I need to put that clip on at home too sometimes. Like if you come home and the kitchen might be messy. It's like, have fun all the time. Remember your message? Thank you guys. I needed that. That's amazing. This is great work. Okay, well, we're gonna go off and get some sleep. Early morning tomorrow. Thank you guys for joining us. Hopefully you had an amazing Halloween too. Go out and dance, go out and have some fun, go out and express some creativity, and don't care what people think or say. Do you. That's it. Do you. Lena's doing her right now. Always, right? Do you? Continue to believe, guys. I can't use my hand. Believe!
Here, let me do it for you.
Okay.
Believe. Believe.
Oh, I like that. That had some good— I like the tone there. And what else, Nina?
Whatever your one word is.
And what else?
I'll see you soon.
We'll see you soon.
We'll see you soon.
Bye-bye.
Bye.
