Believe in Yourself Now | Unleashing Mind Power in 2 Minutes

Bet on yourself. You have to bet on yourself first before you can expect anybody else to believe in you and bet on you. One of my favorite stories is from Lucille Ball. She's the founder of I Love Lucy, totally changed the way TV was done and built one of the most successful TV franchises of all time. When she approached CBS, with the idea for I Love Lucy, she wanted to cast her real-life husband, Desi Arnaz, as her husband on the show. And CBS said, "No way. This isn't gonna work because he's Cuban. Americans won't accept a Cuban guy as the head of a household." And they shut her down. And that could have been the end of the idea for her, right? That's where a lot of people may quit. They may say, "You know what? Here was my chance. Here was a huge TV company. I took my shot. It didn't work, so I'm just going to be an actor." But she said, "No, I am going to bet on myself." And she took the money from her own personal funds, and she cast and created the first pilot for I Love Lucy all by herself. And this is what was really exciting about it. Because now she created her own pilot, she created her own show that she owned the rights to, and then she sold to CBS. Where most people— this was totally not common practice. Most people were just actors. You got paid a salary, you worked for CBS. And Lucille Ball said, "Forget that. If I'm spending the money to create my own program, I'm gonna own it, and I'm gonna license it and sell it to you." And it made her a multimillionaire and made her an iconic TV star and made her a massive innovator in the industry because she bet on herself when nobody else would. You have to believe in yourself and take the bet to know that you have something great and it'll work. And until you bet on yourself and believe in yourself, nobody's going to do it for you. Believe.
