I messed up. I was rushing. Kale, olives, and puke? Yummy! Stop hijacking my video! If I have to vomit, then I'll find Alex. All right, getting ready to go. Got to down a quick smoothie first and then start the day. Okay, we're at Nina's parents' place having our breakfast, usual Tim Hortons breakfast. Coffee, Hayden has his bagel. I get a hash brown sandwich. Oh, Nina's doing a little bit of a cheat though. What's Nina having? Broccoli? That's not just broccoli. What else is in there? Ah, all right, it's Sunday, so we're cleaning up around here, and Nina's made us some special smoothies. They're green, so it's kale and a bunch of fruit and vegetables. What?
Just a little bit.
Little bit what?
One banana and a little bit of pineapple.
And what else?
And carrots and celery.
Which is basically what I said. Bunch of fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables. Stop hijacking my video. Love you. Snack time. Some yummy green peppers. Mmm. Who likes green peppers? Nina? Yummy? Hey, Hayden, no green pepper? What are you looking up? Dracula? Whoa, Hayden's gonna draw. She was looking for some pictures to draw. Not super hungry, but it's kind of snack time. Pork and mushrooms. Oh my God, the mushrooms are so good. Hayden wants some too? No? Hayden's drawing. Can I see what you're drawing? Whoa, wizard, vampire? No wizard. Yes, with— what's all the red stuff? A spell?
It's a lightning.
Lightning, red lightning, super Powerful. Okay, just got back from, uh, salsa teaching level 6, an amazing social. I forgot to bring a camera with me. I didn't— I barely ate my dinner. I ate a little bit. I think it's tilapia with spinach, super yummy. Going to finish that. Still don't have enough protein. Feeling pumped. Good dancing, good conversations, changing lives, and, uh, ready for a relaxing night now. I'm 16 grams of protein behind for the day, so Nina made me a smoothie. I am over and done for the day. Day 22, another day, another shake. Counting down, almost down to 30. Excited to see how we do. Day 22. All right, time for lentils, usual fare. All right, smoothie time. It's green, so it's kale. First half of the lunchtime, pork chop, mushrooms, broccoli. Mmm. All right, at TDS, about to start a workout class. Alex and Ace over there. I have 30 grams of pork to eat. Probably not good Is it good to eat right before workout? Definitely not, but. But, you know. Do it after.
I'm very hungry.
Do it after the workout. Maybe that's what is the best time to do.
After? But then what if I don't have enough energy to do the workout?
But it's not gonna give you more energy in the span of you working out.
And why? Will it? No, it won't.
You consuming it now, your body's not gonna digest it.
A little bit, no?
No, it doesn't work like that, Evan.
How about half? Are you hungry? A little bit. Have like one. What is that? Okay, it's just pork. 30 grams of pork. If you're very hungry. We'll see. We'll see. I think I'm gonna do it, at least some. If I have to vomit, then I'll find Alex. His shirt's already yellow anyway, so—
Yeah, fuck you.
Boo! Boo! Got home from a workout at TDS. Time for another smoothie. Dinner time. Nina's made some yummy cauliflower, ground beef, and salmon together. This is half of what I have to eat. The other half is sitting there on the frying pan. So time to chow down. Alright, I'm already kind of full, but it's time for bowl 2. I've never actually had salmon and ground beef together, but it's a really good mix. I really like it. Another quick smoothie. It's red, so it's beets. That's for tomorrow. And that's Nina. We love her. She's special. Day 23 starts like every day. Protein shake. Yesterday was 20,631 steps. Excited for another day. I'm rushing to get on a hangout with Tim. Tim Schmoyer. We do a weekly hangout. But, uh, smoothie time. It is purple, so it's beet-based, and gonna dive in. One hangout down, now into another hangout with Tim. This is the one that's gonna go public. Gotta quickly eat some food. Usual lentils and an egg. Scarfing it down. Alright, so it's book day. I'm at Whole Foods working on my book promotion. And I picked up a coffee from Whole Foods. And lunch is gonna be some tilapia and some spinach. Excited to get to work. It's 7 o'clock. Just got home. Had to take Nina to acupuncture so she could fix her back. And I'm hangry because I haven't eaten in a while. I'm getting hangry and agitated, so excited that it's dinner time. We've got pork and mushrooms, 30 grams of protein. Another 30 grams of protein on the salmon and spinach. I need to eat right now. So Nina asked me if I wanted a salad and I said of course. This is a special salad. What's on here?
Just mixed greens with kale, olives, and puke.
Puke. And puke? Kale, olives, and puke? Yummy!
Cucumber, and then some—
no, not cucumber, pickles.
Oh, sorry. Oh my gosh, it's been a long day.
So pickles and this fruit, right? The melon, yellow melon, and then olives and mixed greens. It is 10:48 at night. I'm 24 grams of protein behind, and I just happen to have 1 scoop of my protein, so I am good for the night. Day 24 into our last week. Another smoothie— sorry, another protein shake. Almost 26,000 steps yesterday, so pretty solid. Last week, last week, last week, gotta hit it. Here we go. Alright, breakfast time. Usual breakfast: 2 cups of lentils and an egg and a smoothie. It's red, so it's beets. I'm so hungry. Ready to die, man. Film day at studio. Got a coffee. I had 4 hours sleep, so I need this today. Because it's film day. That's what it's all about. Alex is joining me today. First time on film day. First time on film day. Jason's super excited. Lunch is in here. I'll open it at some point. We got salad and mystery meat. So— Excited. Did you just wink at me?
Yeah. Why?
Why is that funny? I don't know, it's kind of weird. So lunchtime, finished the videos, had an awesome session. I realized I think I brought too much and I don't want it to go bad. I'm not quite sure what to do. I have a tilapia that should be 30 grams and then some awesome salad with the pickles and the mush and the olives and stuff. But then I look in here and there's 2 more packs and each pack is supposed to be 30 grams. And I know I'm not supposed to eat 90 grams for lunch. So, uh, I messed it up. That. Oh, she wrote back. I don't know, each pack is 30 grams. Yeah, so I brought too much. I'm gonna figure out what to do. Maybe she can have one when she gets here. I messed up, I was rushing. So I'm gonna have to eat all 3 fish so it doesn't go bad because there's no fridge here at TDS. Um, 90 grams of protein. Serious lunch, serious lunch. Put it outside. I offered Alex a fish.
Yeah, Alex doesn't eat fish.
Alex doesn't eat fish.
I just hate the smell of like the fishy smell.
But you can handle sushi?
Yeah, but sushi doesn't have that pungent fish smell, right?
You know what I'm talking about? You do, because you—
I can smell it on you right now. So it's that pungentness, you know? Okay, right, in your nostrils. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
What do I want to say?
You passed out.
I passed out.
I didn't even know what happened. I put the food in front of it, he just left.
The food. Yeah, I passed out. I passed out. I didn't sleep much last night.
You woke up at 4:30.
I came home, I worked out in winter pants because I didn't bring my clothes, and I pushed it too hard, and I was super full from the 90 grams of protein at lunch. Basically everything you're supposed to eat in a day, I had to eat in lunch. It's crazy. I'm still super full. It's almost 10 o'clock. I have to go to Toronto Dance Salsa. I have a meeting, 2 meetings, and I still have to have more protein. I'll probably just have a drink. I'm 24 grams behind and a drink is 24 grams, so I'll probably just do that when I get back. Still, still, I woke up and like felt like a truck hit me.
Truck hit you?
It was so hard to wake up. It's so hard to wake up. Anyway, I gotta go, I gotta get to the meeting. Mm-hmm.
Bye.
Bye. Bye. All right, closing in on midnight, just got back. 24 grams of protein behind, so I made a protein shake. Probably not the best thing to do is drink a protein shake just before going to bed, but sticking to the diet, we'll see where it leads us. This is a new protein shake. You notice a different color. This is all plant-based. So finish this off, bedtime, wake up, another day. Morning, another day, another smoothie, the new smoothie, sorry, I keep calling it a smoothie, protein shake, the new protein shake only has 19 grams of protein instead of 24 like the other one, but it tastes good and it's all vegetarian, so we'll see. How many steps yesterday? 22,306, another good day. Time for lentils. Lentils and eggs. Yum! Alright, lunchtime. Looks like a mix of vegetables, green beans, carrots, mushrooms, and pork. Time to dig in. Okay, dinner time. What am I having?
Just like your lunch.
Pork. Oh, there's beans in there too. Extra salt. Alright, next up, salad. Another protein shake because I'm behind on my protein and too full to eat anything else, and it's 10:30 at night. Drink it down, go to bed. Welcome to day 26. Usual start, do it every day. I have to mix this. This is not mixed yet. The protein shake. Yesterday's steps, 20,095, just hitting. Ready to start another day. Alright, lunchtime. Lunchtime. It's not lunchtime, breakfast time. Usual. Also smoothie time. This one is orange, so it means it's carrot-based. Pretty excited, I haven't had a carrot one for a while. I love the carrot smoothies. Alright, it's Friday. J-Rise in the house.
Yo yo!
Using the stand-up desk. Yes! Brought me, uh, coffee. There it is. Same. I like the J on the Jason there. Who's Jason? I think I would call him J-Rise. J— yes! No, next time, J-Rise. J-Rise is all about smoothies. I like it. J right? J delicious. It would not be J delicious. All right, well, I'm feeling the coffee. Thank you. All right, lunchtime. Really late lunch, 4 o'clock. Tuna and salad with pickles and olives and a bunch of yummy stuff. Time to eat. It's dinner time, then salsa time. I'm eating— what are we having? Just pork? Pork and salad? Pork and salad. How many? How much do I have? That's 90. That's 90.
That's 60.
That's 60? You have 30?
Yeah.
You have 1 piece, I have 3. How is this 60?
It's dinner, friend.
Okay. This is Nina, everybody. Look at her socks.
I just finished—
Look at the socks. It's just past midnight. Got back from a TDS outing. Tons of fun, lots of great dancing. Tired. Nina's photobombing my video. I'm 19— no, I'm 18 grams of protein behind. So I gotta drink 19 more and then go to bed. Day 27 in the house! We're almost there. Saturday, super excited, off to the Scandinav. It's a spa. It's about an hour and a half out of the city and gonna relax. Evan has a backache. Shake. So she's yawning right now, naked, and she's naked. So camera's on me, friends. You know, starting the day, another protein shake. Super excited, we're closing in. All right, usual weekend tradition.
Evan's usual sandwich.
My usual sandwich, breakfast sandwich, sausage egg McMuffin from Tim Hortons.
My unusual—
oh, what's this?
Croissant and chicken salad And like croissant.
Wow, going all out. That's a big breakfast, friend. And then our two coffees and our hash browns. Yum. Okay, cheers.
Cheers.
So, uh, the spa ended up being a bust. We drove an hour and a half to find out that there's a 5-hour wait. So we did some shopping and came back. It's now— what time is it? It's late, it's like 3 o'clock, past 3 o'clock. We haven't eaten anything since, so we gotta eat. Nina's making us a salad. With turkey slices on top. That's our lunch. Nina made an awesome smoothie. Look at the size of this thing from the Hofbrauhaus glass in Germany. This is kale since it's green. That's how I know.
Maybe it's spinach.
Is it spinach or kale? It's kale. Green is kale, red is beet, and orange is carrots. I know. It's yummy pomegranate time! All right, dinner is tuna with eggs and in a soup-like mix, and it looks like there's sausages or— oh, these are mushrooms. Yummy, excited to try it. So we went to, uh, we went to an open house anniversary party for our friends at Catalyst Trading Systems, Sean and Ace, who've been on this video. It's their 2-year anniversary. A lot of junky food at that party, but we kept it safe. I just had some chicken and some pulled pork, and I'm still a little bit behind, so one last protein shake, and tomorrow is weigh day. See how I'm doing. It's day 28.
Good morning.
Good morning. Sunday means it's time to weigh ourselves. Every Sunday. Nina's showing off some muscles before. Yay! Look at that. Whoa, hello! Look at the big thing coming on my arm. Nina last week was 121.4.
Oh my God, I'm afraid.
121.4, get out!
I had a lot of drinks last night.
We did, we, yeah, we went to a party last night. 121.5. 121.5! Nina went up!
Yay!
Nina went up. How does that feel, Nina?
Not good. I shouldn't eat that much.
You did eat a lot of crackers today. You did eat a lot. OK, stop cheating. Nina just stepped on the scale to see what she would be, and it actually was higher than it was when we just did. So which one do you want to keep? That one. Oh, that one, huh? Right, OK. I was 193.7 last week. Error. Holy cow, it's jumping all over the place. It's like between— OK, let's try again. Error again. Holy cow, I'm wobbling too much. 193.3. Not a lot to celebrate over, but I went down. Nina? Yeah? What's happening?
Okay, I'm gonna take off my clothes.
You're gonna take off your clothes? Okay, YouTube subscribers are gonna go up. Okay, usual breakfast for us. Nina really wanted a donut. She almost got a donut. She came for coffee and then ended up going for for a full breakfast. Usual McMuffin, hash browns, and coffee. You guys know the drill by now. Every weekend. Same thing. Smoothie time. It's green, so it's kale. Realized I haven't had the protein shake yet, so I need to do that at some point, but I'm just gonna enjoy the smoothie for now. Protein shake time. I put it in the same bottle as my smoothie after I finish the smoothie because I like that I can easily shake it up. Oh, I'm shaking the camera, shaking the camera. So it's not clumpy. Usually I just use a knife in a glass and I get clumps. It's not bad because it tastes good. All right, it's lunchtime. Nina made soup that she's slurping. What is this, chicken? Yummy.
No, tilapia.
Tilapia, it's fish. Well, it's yummy too. Meanwhile, I am going through my yearbooks to get rid of them and just take out the pictures. I've been keeping this stack of yearbooks for years from high school. How many years? You want to see some old pictures of Evan? I actually signed my name on a bunch of them. Actually, it's good. It makes it easier to find now. That's me here. And I'm up here. I'm not smiling. The one who's not smiling. The one who looks like he's gonna cry. Anyway, whatever. This is grade 5. I gotta go through these. And then get rid of the yearbooks and stop carrying them from place to place. So excited. So Nina has made a bunch of smoothies. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 huge containers. These are huge.
Yeah, this is like double of this.
These are huge containers. Holy cow. We love Nina. She's special. All right, dinner time. We are at Crown Dance Salsa. That's Ahmad. You may recognize him from the channel. I was trying to say hi to them. Oh, there you go. We're keeping them in. Dinner time is what? Salad and pork. Pork? How much pork? 60 grams? 60 grams of pork. Nice healthy meal after class. Alright, 11 o'clock. Still behind on my protein, so having another quick protein shake. Gonna watch some shows with my wife. We were wanting to watch Suits, but I think we're out of episodes, so maybe Profit or Shark Tank. Probably one of those two. We'll see. Alright, day 29. Tomorrow's the last day. Pretty excited, pretty pumped. Starting the day like always, protein shake. How many steps yesterday? 20,179. Pretty good for a weekend. And, uh, 2 more days. Starting to sink in that this is almost over, though I think I'm probably going to continue anyway. Start the day.
I'm excited.
It's a Monday morning. Alright, usual eggs and lentils and big-ass smoothie with kale and a bunch of healthy stuff. Hungry. So Nina had a rough night last night, was up super late, and so I'm going to grab a coffee for her and surprise her at her work and give it to her. That's it. You got to do nice things to your wife. Alright, lunchtime. It's a big thing of meat. We got salad somewhere under here. With a whole bunch of different meat on top. I'm seeing at least 3 different kinds of meat in here. Little sausage, pepperettes, I think that's pork, and that's turkey or chicken. 60 grams. I asked Nina, lunch is 60 grams? Yes. Okay, time to eat. All right, time for another smoothie. This is my third on the day. I don't think I filmed the second one. It was on my way to TDS to do the workout. Uh, I might have. I drank it at the workout, but number 3 in the day. Nina made a ton of smoothies, so I'm drinking them down and they're yummy. All right, got home from Toronto Dine Salsa. Nina was helping tonight. She still got her shirt on, so it's family. Just making some chicken and some smoothies, and she made me a smoothie and I I threw some protein powder on top of it that I gotta mix in. It's our last night. Tomorrow is weigh-in day. Tomorrow's 30 days. How do you feel? Scary, scary, scary. All right, good morning. We're tired, very tired. It's day 30. This is it. This is the big moment we've been waiting for, is what we've been, been been, you know, waiting for. So it's weigh day. Let's do it. Nina started at 127.5, and today she is 119.9. That 0.9 is pretty cool. I see that instead of 120. 119.9. So Nina lost basically 8 pounds. That's pretty good. 8 pounds. 8 pounds in 30 days. Evan was 206.6 and today 191.2. 15 pounds in 30 days. So how did we do it? Summarize. We ate Basically a high protein diet, a crazy high protein diet, which cut our carbs a lot. Yeah, basically no carbs, very minimal carbs, but not bad. Not like massively hungry because the protein— it's just an insane amount of protein that you have to eat. Uh, and then we worked out 3 times a week. No, I didn't really hit 3 times, you know.
I almost did.
I did like 2 or 1.5 times 2 times a week.
Yeah, I did almost 3 times a week.
And then I ran on the spot for 20 minutes, maybe 3 times a week. That's it. And then we're gonna keep going. Yeah, I want to get down to 180 to 185. I know a lot of you've already been posting comments saying that I slimmed down and what happened. Uh, I'm not sick. This is on purpose, this is with intention. So I'm, I'm My goal is to get to 180 to 185, and I'm 192, so it's not that bad. Another 6 and a little bit pounds. It's not that bad. And what's your goal?
My goal is either 113 or 115, so—
It's another 6 pounds. We both have 6 pounds to go? Who's gonna get there first? Challenge! Challenge!
No, it's not a challenge. Probably you, because you're bigger. I'm smaller.
Cool. Well, thank you guys for watching. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
And believe.
And believe.
Have a good day.
Have a great day. Bye. Bye.
Mama.
