Super positive day, so pumped. Oh man, this is what I married. Can't be a meal, it's a snack, man. A snack. She's crazy, but I love her. Okay, let's go. I love you. But anyway, going back to the hotel, going back to the hotel, hitting things here. Alright, usual start to the day, smoothie. Yesterday I did 20,395 steps. Really? Yeah, really. Alright, we decided to get 2 coffees and we were supposed to eat healthy. Nina's packed a nice breakfast for us, but I also decided to splurge and got our usual Egg McMuffin and hash brown. And then Nina decided that she wanted to eat my hash brown, so I guess I'm losing it to her. And Hayden's having a bagel. Yummy! Yummy! Okay, just got home. Super hungry, turning hangry. It's past— I don't know what time it is. It's like 2 o'clock almost. Haven't eaten anything except what I showed you guys already. Uh, so Nina made some lentils and pork or something. No idea how many grams of protein or anything. I just gotta eat something now. All right, fish. We love you, Nina. Okay, so it's been a while since our last video. It's been It's been a while since I ate. We went to TDS. I taught my first level 6 class for the semester. Super exciting. Nina led. You did well. You had to dance with Alex. He's not a great partner. So heavy. Yeah, it was a good class though. And I had to come home and do another 3,000 steps to hit 20,000. And I'm smelly. I'm smelly. I know. You just seen the video. I'm gonna have a shower. I'm worried because I have to go to Microsoft tomorrow. Tuesday I'm there filming with them, and then Wednesday I'm there basically the whole day. On the plane, and then because of the time zone, I leave at 8 in the morning and get back at 8 at night our time. There's no direct flight, so I got to go through Vancouver. I'm worried about keeping on the diet, especially on that Wednesday. I'll be like running around the airport to get my steps, and I think I'm gonna maybe buy some protein powder or something. Maybe the last time I went, it was so busy. The Microsoft guys have me booked like morning to evening. I had one evening off, and that's when I met Jen, so it was crazy. It may not be that crazy this time, I don't know, because last time I didn't get to talk to him at all. I'm doing at least one interview with them, maybe two more videos, or maybe doing all my sets. It's still kind of unclear, um, but hopefully we'll figure that out in time. I'm excited. I'm excited about the interview. I'm kind of missed. There's a lot of stuff happening. I'm not really that hungry. I'll have a quick small third of a shake, wake up tomorrow, do it all again, and then head to Seattle. Good morning! Rushing today. I got to eat, got my usual smoothie. Steps yesterday was 20,471. I've got to go to the passport office, get Hayden's passport so we can go to Disney World in March. Then hit the Toronto Dance Salsa where we're painting the ceiling, finishing putting in the ceiling tiles. Busy day, meetings, and have to get off to Microsoft later today to go interview with them and hopefully Stay healthy. Alright, at TDS. Packed my breakfast. Doesn't look appetizing display, but it'll be yummy. Alex is here working away. We're getting the paint done on the ceiling. You can see there's a lot of tiles missing and there's some gross tiles, so we gotta get it all fixed up. This place is gonna be spanking new. Sexy. Anyway, get some protein on. Got some good steps in. Continue on with the day. Okay, next up, finishing off my smoothie from Nina. Just went shopping, protein for the trip, and it was hard because most of the stuff is so high in sugar. It's crazy, the sugar content is crazy. It's like 10 grams of protein and 19 grams of sugar. Are you kidding? So I was very careful. I got something that has only like 10 grams of protein. It took me a while to do some research. I worked with Sean, he gave me some advice on it. So I got one for like $100. I was like, it's just massive, right? But sugar, it's super, super Alex is doing the, the diet and workout regimen with us. He's not on the 30-day challenge with me and Nina, but you should be. So I scored a few winners, I hope. I got this North Coast Naturals isoprotein. I need something I could fit in my carry-on, right? So it's only going for a couple days. The problem with the bars, the bars have insane sugar. So I found this Protein Crunch Pumpkin Seeds that I've never tried. And that was the best rate that I could find. So I brought 3 for the trip, and Alex and I are gonna have one right now. It's still kind of sweet. I don't know if they use honey or something. It can't be a meal, it's a snack, man. Snack. All right, construction work happening. Back to work for me. Okay, lunchtime. Chicken breast with, uh, dressed salad with apple cider vinegar, tomatoes, and spinach, and mixed Greens in there. Excited to dig in. Having more pumpkin snacks. I'm out of Nina food, so I don't know what to eat anymore. Chilling with Stephanie and Alex. Alex is not having the greatest day. Thank you. But he's been negotiating like a beast for the well-being of the business. For the well-being of the business. He's doing a good job. I feel like I'm gonna get to the airport and want to have a huge ice cap cappuccino and then kill everything and have Nina freak out on me. Made it into my flight. The challenge now is finding some food that is quasi-healthy. So super fast to get through customs, just 20 minutes. So I've got almost 2 hours before leaving. I ended up going with Tim Hortons chili. So unfortunately the internet seems to be down at the moment, which sucks because I usually talk to Nina, say goodbye, all that stuff before I go, but I can't get on the line online. So, miss you, baby. I'll see you soon. So I'm gonna board in about an hour. I started crashing and getting a headache, so I decided that I would buy a coffee. It's a 3-hour time difference, so I gained 3 hours going there. But really, I feel like it's because I haven't drank any water all day long, just doing TDS stuff. So I also bought a bottle of water. We'll see how I do. I looked at my Fitbit. 18,667 steps. I need 1,300+ more steps to get my goal, so I'm gonna have my drink, walk around the airport, and get on the plane. So just arrived in Seattle. Airport looks exactly the same. Wasn't here that long ago. Watched two movies on the plane. Don't remember the first one. It was hard to hear. Sicario, something like that, the Mexican drug one. It's okay, but I couldn't really hear it well. And second one was The Martian, which I liked. It was better than I thought. It's midnight for me, 9 PM here in Seattle, and I am off to look for the car that's going to take me to my hotel, and, uh, still need to have a little bit more protein before going to bed. Starting to seriously crash out. Um, almost fell asleep in the car. Feel a little nauseous. I think it's just too tired. Haven't slept for a while. Let's find the room. 505. This is interesting. There's just a window that goes right through the bathroom. Nice big shower. I like it. Big room, looking good. TV on. Nice. I like the setup. That's pretty cool. You see straight to the bathroom. I don't know what to make of it. I like it, I think. Protein. Get ready for bed. Do some emails. Crash. Wake up tomorrow. Oh, look, it says welcome Evan Carmichael on the screen. Look at that. The little details matter. Alright, bedtime for me, and I will check in with you guys tomorrow. Good morning from Seattle hotel room, 6:45 AM. Got up about 15 minutes ago. Excited for the day. Starting off with— this is not coffee, this is my protein shake. Going to check in on the YouTube channel, respond to comments, check up on the next videos, and then explore Seattle before having to go do my interview with Microsoft. I'm excited. Alright, just past 9 AM. Had a nice quick run, did some work, had a shower. Ready to go explore Seattle and find some food. It's of course raining in Seattle, but I don't mind because it's way warmer than Toronto. There's no snow, and I'm heading off to Pike Place to find the very first ever Starbucks. And I'm excited to have a coffee and get some food. So I made a pit stop at Beecher's, which is famous for their cheese. And you see these huge vats of cheese where they're mixing it there and cooking it in the other one, and it smells so good. So I'm trying their probably super unhealthy mac and cheese. This little thing cost me $6, so we'll try it, see how it is. I'm feeling really really good. That was maybe the best mac and cheese I've ever had in my life. And now we're coming up to the first Starbucks. Interesting fact, um, the, the house blend is called Pike because this place is called Pike Place, and so they've kept that name. And, uh, for all of their house blend coffee, it's called Pike. And at the original location here, they have the same logo. They haven't changed it. This is the original logo. Friend of ours, Tony, collects Starbucks cups and we collect them everywhere we go on trips and I have to get one from here from the official Pike Place. So here's what we're gonna find. Coffee's really good. I like being in a historic place. I feel like I'm gonna buy a pack of their coffee too and just keep it on my desk. Smell the coffee beans and remind me of this place. Big fan of Howard Schultz, one of my business heroes. Being here just reminds me of that, and I'm going to take a little bit of peace home. Walking back to the hotel, super excited. Book is done, at least the first draft. It's off to the publisher. It's an overwhelmingly exciting feeling to know that it's happening. It's out of my hands. It's finally over. I know there's going to be some fights on edits and what's going to stay in, and there's still a lot more work ahead, but to be in the first Starbucks and such a historic place, and I hope that my book can have just as historic an impact on the world. Just, I don't know, it's overwhelmingly exciting. Yeah, super positive day, so pumped. Bought a bunch of stuff. Going back to the hotel, hitting things here, shower. I haven't eaten anything, just buzzed on Starbucks coffee, and I got to get ready for my interview with Microsoft. Okay, haven't really had lunch yet, which is not super healthy. Not even really hungry, but I gotta go to my interview soon, so I'm gonna have some more of these, uh, pumpkin seed things and maybe find something else along the way. All right, I'm off. Uh, did a little bit of running, practiced what I was going to talk about, did some push-ups, had a shower, and, uh, ready to go rock the interview. This is where we're filming. Rework, the platform for creators. I like it. Alright, so I'm in the green room waiting for my session to start. Got some lunch, chicken Caesar salad from the catering company. Let's open this up. Look at that cookie. Ah, dressing on the side, I love it. Okay, it's makeup time. Nina always gets super excited about makeup time because I never let her put makeup on me except for once a year at Halloween, so she's always excited when I have to go into makeup. Let's see, we go. Alright, done. Had a lot of fun. Wasn't allowed to film because it's exclusive content, but it was really good. Did a couple takes, got some good points out. Everybody's super motivated and I'm excited to see the final product. I'm heading back to the hotel, gonna meet Jen, have some dinner, see what I can find, and then make some YouTube videos with her. I'm excited, it's a good day. While I wait for Jen before dinner, gonna have a little bit of more protein crunch, pumpkin seeds, because I'm getting hungry. This is Jen, you guys know Jen. And, uh, next up— this is only for food, this camera is only for food— so the next thing on the food list is the alcohol, which has no protein. But then we're gonna go find, uh, we can have alcohol for Stephanie. Okay, we're making a special video. Stephanie. Uh, and then we're gonna find a restaurant and see if we can find to eat. Okay, we're at a place that has A Thousand Spirits. We're gonna see what we can eat that's high in protein and kind of healthy. I'm putting the candle in my face because it's super dark. Can you see me? Not really. No, I'm gonna break this. Anyway, this is an insane dinner. Oh, you can't see anything. It's a burger, an insane burger that smells really good. Although you can kind of see it— you can't really see it. I'm breaking the diet, but I think I think we're gonna be okay. It's worth it. Yeah, it's worth it. And there's still lots of protein. Lots of protein. Okay, it's almost 3 in the morning my time, burning out. Just got back from filming videos and having a good chat with Jen. Uh, I still need to have 48 grams of protein to hit my daily goal, so I got to, uh, have some protein shake, go to bed, not pack, go to bed, and then wake up early tomorrow morning, get on the cab, and start the trek home. Good morning! Basically, I'm traveling all day long. I gotta catch a flight, uh, 8 in the morning, and I'm gonna be back home at 8 or 9 at night, something like that. It's crazy. Gonna have my protein shake, hopefully not eat too much crap at the airport. Looking forward to seeing my wife, eating healthy again. Yeah. All right, back in Toronto. Excited. It's snowing outside. A little bit nauseous, probably because I haven't slept well, uh, but excited to see Nina and get back home. All right, coming up, let's find Nina. I don't see Nina anywhere. Where's Nina? I'm gonna have to message her. She's not here. So she messaged me, have I arrived? Yes. Where is she? She's taking a long time to write. I'm here. I got to go find her. This is ridiculous. I got to go find her. This is the second time now in the last 3 visits that I've come out here. Come out and there's no Nina. I was here. You know why? Why? Because you see those list of flights? That wasn't my flight. None of my flights are on there. Where? I come out of the other entrance. It's not my fault. You can look at the flights. I did. It says on time. Yeah, on time. But it doesn't say arrived here. Well, I don't normally check the flight number. I just know Terminal 1, Terminal 1 here. I miss my wife. I mean, she's crazy, but I love her. Okay, let's go. We're gonna go now. We're gonna go. Ah, okay, came home and I am 62 grams of protein away from my goal. So luckily Nina made this amazing yummy salad for me, chicken and pomegranate and salad. I'm excited. Thank you, Nina. What? We love you. Back in Toronto, feeling good. Back on my regular routine, super excited. Starting the day with my smoothie and egg and lentils, ready to start my day. Didn't realize it, but it's 4:20 and I haven't really eaten my lunch because the lentils were so filling. Then I started eating and forgot to film. So lunch is chicken and salad and more pomegranates underneath with some apple cider vinegar. I'm off to mastermind tonight and it gets catered and I don't know what the meal is. So I might bring a can of tuna or something with me just in case. So far so good, eating healthy. So I have a meeting with my mastermind group downtown today and I'm way behind on my steps. 6,000 steps. I'm supposed to be at 20,000 by the end of the day and I'm worried that I'm not gonna hit it. So instead of driving down in this insane cold, I am bundling up, and I'm gonna take the subway and walk. Okay, meeting here for the meeting. Dinner, dinner is salad, whatever that is, veggie mix. This is a stir-fry, stir-fry mix, stir-fry, and some rice on the end. This is Louie from Last Minute Training. Hey, Jeremy, Mentor Network. Is this a day in the life of Evan Carmichael? This is the 30-day food challenge. All right, welcome to day 12. First up, as usual, protein drink All right, it's breakfast time and the usual: lentils and egg. Uh, J-Rye's in the house, brought me grande caramel macchiato. Caramel macchiato. Cheers. All right, next up is a can of tuna. Okay, we went to workout class. I totally forgot to, uh, to bring the GoPro and film a time-lapse because I haven't been for a while. And anyway, just slipped my mind. So came back, I need to, uh, catch up on some protein. Nina's having a shower and, uh, I'm really thirsty, so having a quick drink. This is only 24 grams. I'm gonna eat dinner and head to, uh, salsa outing tonight where I'm teaching a lesson and DJing. Should be fun. All right, had a nice shower, getting ready to go to, uh, salsa outing tonight. Nina's made some yummy food. What are we eating here, babe? Salmon. This is the salmon. And what's this? Mixed green, kale, melon, pepper. That's melon on top? Yeah. Yummy. Time to eat. All right, day 13, Saturday morning, starting the day. Another protein drink. Nina's doing it too. We're gonna explore. Still have to have the Tim Hortons breakfast, so maybe light and, uh, Yeah, coffee. How do you shake it? Here you go, that's it. Can't shake. Shake, swirl, swirl, circular motion. Use your hand. Use your hand. Oh man, this is what I married. Your face doesn't look like you're too happy about this. Alright, at Timmy's with my wife. Her name is Nina, she's special and we love her. Breakfast! Nina, she's having egg and cheese. I'm having sausage, egg, and cheese. Two hash browns, a coffee. Not the healthiest breakfast. It's Saturday. Nina's like, do you want to have lentils for breakfast? Like, no, I don't want to have lentils again. I've had lentils every day. I want to go out. So here we are. Cheers! So we just We just came back from Costco, or we're in the car, and we're trying a new protein powder. Leanfit Complete Green Protein, 19 grams of protein per scoop. I was on the fence because the traditional, like, non-organic whatever ones are basically almost half the price. Half the price. And then Nina insisted that we get this one because it's healthy, and we bought two of them. Nina cares about her husband. And insisted that we get the more expensive, now natural one. If I hold it up, you can't see Nina anymore. Okay, there. Nina is more important than the protein. All right, it's lunchtime. It's 3:10. It's a really late lunch. Nina got a little hangry, but she's pretty good. There she is wearing her purple top today. She wants to wave to the camera in a big way. There it is. What are we having? Over here. This? This is mine? This is chicken, and what's the other one? Turkey? So which one do you want? I don't care, just pick one. Just the chicken breast. This is mixed with the rice cake and the broccoli. I'll do the chicken. Okay. With the salad. Okay. There you go. Look at the size of this salad, it's intense. Chicken breast and salad. Here we go. Okay, we're out with the Try On and Salsa family. This is some of the team. 2 tables, maybe 3 tables. And, uh, first up is some chicken, and we'll document as we go. We had a lot of veggies but only 5 grams of protein with that piece of chicken, so that's why I'm feeling a little hungry now. So we went to Loblaws, got a Quest bar, highly recommended to me by my sister Stephanie and one of their to the TDS, so I'm going to try it out. Gives you an extra 20 grams. I still need another 60, 50. I'll figure it out later. We'll do the numbers. I'm gonna have to have some more when we get back. Nina's done. Yeah, uh, we're supposed to be doing karaoke right now. We made a pit stop and we're gonna go sing some songs. I'm gonna sing some songs and we're gonna make Nina sing some songs. Oh, we can't get you drunk because that's not part of the diet. Okay, well, the popcorn smells so good. Oh my God, I want to eat it all. Okay, Quest Bar. Okay, uh, behind my, uh, protein. So I came home, had a— I'm about to have some tuna. Last up, the protein drink. I already had a few sips, uh, with this. Brings my total to 181 grams of protein on the day. Just enough. It is 9:55 PM. We're off to go watch Ride Along 2. So I gotta down the drink and then head out. We're back from the movie. It's 1:25 AM. This is the first day that I've been hungry since we started. This is day 13. Well, I guess almost day 14. Today was the first day that I felt hungry and not that I didn't have enough food. I have— I'm feeling— I'm going to bed a little bit hungry. Actually, I was hungry earlier, but I held off. We go to the movie theater and it was like popcorn. Oh man, I wanna have some of that stuff. I know, I know. It was the first day that I felt— usually it's hard to finish. It's like 10 o'clock at night, 11 o'clock, getting ready for bed, it's like, "Oh, I still need to eat more protein." Today was the first day where we capped out and I'm a little hungry. I don't know what that means. But tomorrow's weigh-in day, so— right? You keep your stomach empty. Right? Well, weigh day tomorrow. Yeah. Wake up, weigh ourselves, and eat! Okay, here we go. Day 14, end of week 2. It is time to do a weigh-in. Okay. Nina's up first. 122.7, that's Nina. So let's see me. I started at 206.6. I went to 200.9 on day 7, and then day 14 is today. Let's see, so from 200.9, 195.5. Doing good, lost 10 pounds. Awesome, 11, 11.1 pounds in— well, today's the 14th, today we haven't started. Okay, okay, so that's good.
