Evan's Asia Trip - Day 5-6 - On the ship

It's 9:15. I just woke up. You can see I'm very burnt out. I went to bed late and just got up now. Nina went to bed early and woke up at 4:30, but she got me breakfast. I got coffee and I got— da da da da— eggs and salad. Ooh, french fries. All right, I'm gonna eat. Nina's not very happy. It's our first day at sea. We are leaving Hong Kong and going towards Shanghai. I got the little ear patch stuff that keeps you from getting seasick, because sometimes I get seasick, but I haven't put it on yet, so we'll see. We have 2 days at sea in a row. That's the most days at sea in a row we have on this cruise, so we'll see if I have to put it on or not. We'll see if Evan starts going like this and getting feeling queasy, then I'll need to put it on. Okay, Nina wanted her second breakfast, so what are you having, babe?
Same thing, just plain congee with shredded pork and then I think this is glory chow?
What?
It's not band-a-day, but it's Florentine? Yeah, Florentine.
With fruit?
Yeah.
And I am having 3 boxes of Froot Loops and chocolate bun and watermelon because we got to eat healthy on the cruise, babe. Healthy living on the cruise ship. Coffee and orange juice are coming, and here we go for our second breakfast. Although I think tomorrow, or maybe if I'm hungry later, I gotta try some of those Belgian waffles. They look good. They're kind of teasing me. So we came back to the room and Nina's feeling tired.
Uh, no. Well, yeah, kind of.
And I'm feeling a little bit woo. So I'm gonna put on this Transderm. I'm gonna give the camera to Nina. So the first time I saw this, I saw an old guy, uh, with the patch behind his ear, and I thought he was crazy. And I asked him, does it really work? He's like, I cannot take a cruise without these things again. So I'm gonna put it on. Oh yeah. Oh, I feel that medicine kicking in already. Woo!
Yeah, right. Really? No, you don't feel anything. Okay.
Time for lunch? Okay, round 1. I've got salad with lemon dressing. And Nina has—
Eggplant with minced pork.
Round 2 for Nina. I think it was broth. Broth. With— Broth with vegetables.
No, shrimp.
And shrimp. Okay, try it. Wonton broth, wasn't it?
No, just the mushrooms.
Okay, main course. Bacon cheeseburger for me with ketchup coming. And laksa. Singapore laksa. Banana. Okay, try it out, babe. See what you got.
Yeah. How is it? It's not sour enough.
Not sour enough?
Okay. It's not spicy enough. Missing the coconut milk. Next up is some vodka tasting.
This has worked up an appetite. Um, I've been doing all the dancing. Nina was not doing so much line dancing.
I did one.
You did one?
I filmed it.
So what do we have here? What do we—
I cannot see.
We have, uh, Absolut Grey Goose. We'll test it and see what happens. So we're here, uh, on the pool deck, and you can see the water. It's the first time we've kind of come outside to see the water, and they are playing Maleficent on the TV. It should be here. Can't really see it. Nina decided that we should go to the vodka tasting instead of watching Maleficent. So we'll watch this, uh, later because we downloaded it. It's also in the room. But I noticed that they have four cheese pizza as the pizza of the day. We came up here looking for popcorn, but I might have a four cheese pizza instead. And I might get an ice cream too.
Next up is the cruise ship choir practice.
So Nina and I are gonna sing.
No, I don't know. I don't know how to sing. I'll watch you.
You're gonna watch us sing?
Yeah.
Everybody seems to have these lyrics in their hands, but we don't have any, and they're not handing them out. So I don't know if these guys are like an organized group that we're just crashing a party or what's happening, but we're gonna see what happens, and we're all gonna hear Nina sing. No, you're gonna hear me sing, maybe. Okay. Oh, they're all getting up. They're all getting up.
Oh, it's a choir. They're all getting up.
Oh, we gotta go. Dinner time. What are we starting with? Spring roll. Vegetable rolls? Vegetable spring rolls. I think we had this yesterday, didn't we?
No, the day before. Oh, do we?
Yeah. Okay, cheers. Yummy. Well, we just saw an awesome juggling performance by a Japanese juggler named Tempei who won the world championship in juggling. And it's now 9:40 and we're going to bed.
Woohoo!
Okay, day— I don't even know what day it is. Another day started. It's 8:30 in the morning. Nina is starting to feel motion sickness. We're just about to head out to the restaurant and try sit-down breakfast, which we haven't done before. But Nina said she's feeling a little sick, so We're gonna go get her some ear patch. There you go. Okay, let's go get some food. Okay, here we go. We've got our morning coffee and juice. What do you have? Apple juice? Apple? I'm doing pineapple. We got our fruit selection here. Papaya and some melons. Yeah, and then I've got some grape nut cereal. Eating a little healthier. A little healthier today. So this is our round Round 1. Mmm. So the huge bowl of Grape Nuts was gross. I poured my coffee into it. It tastes way better now. Nina agrees. Yum.
Mmm.
Okay, next up, mushroom and cheese omelette. There's a special seminar happening on how to use a GoPro camera and other cameras. So maybe I'll pick up some tricks on how to use my camera better too. Mark Drager would be proud. Okay, next up we're gonna go to a presentation to learn a little bit about Walt Disney and Salvador Dalí. So we'll see what we learn. We were talking about when you go on vacation, I always come up with all these new ideas for what to do when I come back. And Nina Tina doesn't do that. She just wants to relax. Yeah, but it's a good vacation, right? Well, I'm relaxing, but I get— it is relaxing, but then I always get— I have like, look, look, look, pages, pages of notes and ideas of things that just hit me as I'm relaxed.
No, not pages. It's basically just one page.
No, no, no.
It's just plain. Oh, actually, wait. Oh yeah, it is. Oh, wait, wait, wait, it's not. It's just the same thing on the second page.
Hush, okay? My original notepad was taken away from me somewhere, and that was pages. No, it's not pages. This one.
Anyway, it's okay.
Okay, so I want to know, do you guys think about things and come up with plans and ideas for when you come home? Or do you just relax on vacation and—
I think a lot of people would be like, relax on vacation.
But then come up with new ideas too. Do you write lists of ideas that you get? I want to know, okay? Leave it in the comments and let us know so you can solve this debate for us. Okay, round 1 at lunch. I've got my salad with tomatoes and lemon sauce. Here's Nina, who has her— what is it?
This is the beef bucket dish.
Beef what?
The soup.
Beef soup. Okay, thank you. And how is it?
It's not bad.
Taking a picture of me? Yeah. And the soup?
The soup is okay.
Okay, next one will be better. Okay, we're just about to get settled to watch, uh, what's it called? Bears? Some Disney bear movie here. We don't have the greatest angle, but we're in the shade. I don't want to be sitting out in the sun. And Nina was still hungry.
No, I'm not still hungry. I was gonna get the, um, the shrimp scallops, but then they don't have shrimp.
So let's see what you got.
I had the salad and the mushrooms.
Yummy, yummy. Okay, here we go, movie under the stars. Let's see if Nina passes out. And of course, we've got to have some cuac with tortillas. Okay, we're heading up for our hot stone massage spa— massage treatment. And of course we're taking the stairs. We've taken the stairs almost all the time. Yeah, except when Nina was feeling a little sick. And here is the spa. Time for a massage.
Do you have the thing?
I do. We'll see you guys soon.
Alright, dinner time.
We're very sad because Nina lost her phone, but we're sending good karma out there so we'll find it. We started a new tradition of asking for oil and vinegar on our table so we could dip the bread in it. You can see—
Oh, we have the sticks too.
Grissini. Nina's made her first mixture here. Mix it up. I add salt to mine, Nina doesn't, but—
I love the mayonnaise though.
Yeah, the mayonnaise is good. Okay, this is the start. Dinner, here we go. Okay everybody, we have good news. What's the good news?
Found my phone!
Found the phone! Nina's happy again. Look at that beautiful smile. Aww. Okay, we're now at one of the bars and we're gonna listen to some music by this duo here. I guess they're kind of hard to see in the light, but hopefully they play some music we can dance to, have some fun, and then call it a night, wake up tomorrow, go to Shanghai.
