I'm so excited. Why?
I love your chicken stir-fry.
I'm so excited.
I can't wait to get me some. Okay.
You gonna show everybody your tattoo?
No, then I have to strip down. Hi, it's Nina. Long time no see. I haven't done a cooking video for a long time, so today I decided, oh, okay, you know, haven't done it for so long, maybe I should do one. So I decided to do stir-fry chicken thighs with lettuce wrap. I'm gonna cut this in half. And then just open it up a little bit. Once you open it up, try not to rip the lettuce. I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you what ingredients that you will need for this dish. Of course, lettuce. I'm gonna use celery sticks, green onion. I cut this from my garden. We're gonna use onion, mushrooms, carrots, and then Chicken, of course. You can use chicken breast, chicken thighs. I use boneless chicken thighs. So first, I'm gonna wash the lettuce and let the water dry out a little bit. I'm gonna put the lettuce in here. No!
No!
I need the water! I'm gonna let it drip. I'm gonna cut this in half. You can use 2 celery sticks, but I'm using 3. And then 1 carrot. Peel the skin. I'm gonna cut the celery stick. How I cut it, I cut in half in the middle. It doesn't have to be too small. It's about this size.
Watch the fingers.
Carrot.
I like to cut the carrots in 3 pieces first and then cut through the middle.
Mushrooms.
Because Evan really likes mushrooms, I'm gonna put 5 mushrooms in. Usually how you clean the mushrooms, you get a towel, wipe with the water a little bit, and then wipe it down. It takes too long for me, so I'm just gonna wash it. What are you doing? Cheese. You're eating it raw. I'll cut the mushroom in slices. Okay, this is done. Put it back. Okay, now onion. Doesn't have to be super small. I'm gonna put the onion with the mushroom because I will sauté them first. Oh my god, my eyes! I can't stop, they're burning. Now green onion. My eyes are burning. Last thing, because Evan really likes cilantro, as you guys know, I'm just gonna add a little bit of cilantro. Just cut it up a little.
Okay, that's it.
It doesn't have to be super fine.
Last thing, of course, chicken.
There are 5 chicken thighs. You can use 2 chicken breasts, it's enough. Just cut it in like chicken strips like this size, or if you want, you can cut it even smaller. Your choice.
Okay, it's done.
So I'm gonna clean up, wash this, put the stuff away, then we can start cooking. So now we're gonna move to the stove. Pan on. Gonna just move everything here. So if you want your meat to be tastier, you can marinate the meat, the chicken, the night before. You can marinate with 1 teaspoon of salt, pepper and soy sauce. Soy sauce, I would say 1 tablespoon. And then add a little bit oil. The reason why you add oil, because when you stir-fry it, um, when you stir-fry it, it won't stick together. So that's the key. Okay, it's hot. I'm using—
did you just test if it's hot by putting your hand on it?
No, just to feel the heat. Oh, so I'm gonna Maybe— I don't know how much is this. 3 tablespoons of— okay, stop it.
Nina's not always the greatest at guessing the measurements. If we do a quick flashback to the salt fiasco, I think that's something fun that the audience would enjoy.
1 teaspoon of salt. For me, just to taste. Add a little bit.
Okay.
So just wait for the oil to get hot. Stir-fry the onion and the mushrooms. Gonna put it in. Sauté, sauté them. As soon as they turn brown a little bit, then you can add the rest of the ingredients in. Okay, the onion and mushroom is turning brown. So I'm going to add carrots and the celery stick.
Smells really good.
I like green peppers and red peppers. I don't mind them cooked because Evan— but Evan doesn't like it cooked at all.
Ew.
He doesn't like it cooked. Ew. That's why I didn't add it to the wrap.
So good.
But if you like not too cooked but just a little cooked, I will recommend you to add green pepper and the red pepper. Ew. That gives the color to the dish too.
Ew.
I'm gonna add a little bit of oil because I'm gonna add the chicken in right now. Chicken, dump it all in. I'm just putting all the chicken in the middle and spread the mushroom sour seed around on the side so I can cook the chicken. While waiting the chicken to be cooked, I'm just placing the lettuce on the plate so that when it's cooked, I can put the chicken on the lettuce. I just had a flashback of the salt, salt that you were talking about.
The salt clip. Let's show it one more time. Show it one more time, the salt clip.
1 teaspoon of salt.
In slow motion, yay!
Chicken, it's half cooked. I'm just gonna mix everything together right now. Now we're gonna add—
stop it.
So don't use a full tablespoon because we're gonna add soy sauce. You don't want it too salty. I would say 2 teaspoons ground pepper. 3 tablespoons of soy sauce. Oyster flavor sauce, you can get it from a lot of supermarkets in Australia now. So we will use 2 tablespoons. Turn the heat down to simmer. So it's done. I'm gonna add the green onion and the cilantro to give it more color and flavor too. When you bite the food, you will taste all the different flavor with onions and cilantro.
Oh my God, it's so good.
Put it in this bowl and then I'll transfer to the lettuce. So just get a spoon, put the chicken. If you like to wrap the chicken, you can wrap it like this. So the dish is done.
Cheers!
Cheers!
You gotta go around.
Oh my gosh, it's really good. What should I say?
I'm looking at the camera.
What should I say?
