Welcome to another Famous Friday where we look at how you can learn from the success of people who have come before you, how you can model the success of famous entrepreneurs and put their strategies to work for you. Today's lesson is be the change. Mahatma Gandhi was famous for saying, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." If you see a problem in the world, if you're not happy with something that's happening right now in the world, and there's lots, There's lots of problems we have, there's lots to be upset about. Instead of just getting upset, instead of just ranting on Facebook, instead of just talking to your friends and saying how wrong the situation is, do something about it. Be the change. You want something to be fixed? Go and fix it. Don't just complain about it. So today's lesson comes from Jessica Alba. And Jessica Alba you may know as the super successful, super busy film actress, but she's also a mother and she's also a successful entrepreneur. And her business is called The Honest Company. And when she started it, you may think, "Well, why does Jessica Alba want to be an entrepreneur? She's so busy and so successful with her film career and still just young and getting started. How does she have time to be an entrepreneur?" And it wasn't for an ego play. It wasn't because she needed to make more money. It's because she wanted to be the change. So here's what happened. When she was pregnant with her first child, she was upset that she couldn't find natural products. She didn't want to have all sorts of chemicals and fake ingredients on her child, both with the products that she was wearing, with the food that she was eating. She wanted everything to be natural, and she was so frustrated and angry that these products were so hard to find, and, and companies covered up the ingredients. And it was really hard to find these kinds of products to put on that she said, you know what, I'm gonna be the change. I'm gonna create this company. And despite her busy career, and now despite being a really busy mother as well, she is a co-founder of the Honest an honest company that provides honest products for kids. Honest diapers, honest body wash, everything you need for your kids, all without chemicals. She saw a problem in the world, and instead of complaining about it, she set out to fix it. And because she stands for something important, the company is only a couple years old and already has $150 million in revenue. So if you don't like something out there, If you're upset with the way the world is, be the change, embrace the solution, and help make the world a better place. Believe.
