Evan Carmichael shows how Café Dimitri sent him a $10 gift certificate after he posted about their desserts, turning a social media mention into loyalty. Spending a few minutes each week thanking people or businesses that helped you deepens relationships and generates word-of-mouth referrals.

Welcome to another Thankful Thursday. I believe that it's important to take a few minutes every week to thank the people who've had an impact on your life and your business because you can't do this alone, and it's nice just to say thank you every now and then to the people who've helped you. So today's a little bit of a fun one. I want to thank Café Dimitri. Now Café Dimitri is one of my favorite places to go for dessert. If you love waffles, crepes, ice cream, whipped cream, it's the place to go to. And when I go there, I I take a picture, and just like a lot of places where I go, and if I'm enjoying the food, I'll take a picture, I'll post it to my accounts. And they saw it, and they wrote to me and said, "Hey, glad you had a good experience. We'd like to send you something." And in the mail, then they sent me a gift certificate, a pretty huge gift certificate, for $10 off at my next Café Dimitri. So next time I go, it's on them. And this is really important because a lot of companies, they don't really even pay attention to their social channels. I can't tell you how many companies I've tweeted to or mentioned where, one, they don't even write back. They don't even respond, right? If it's a good experience I had or a bad experience, you don't even write back. Hello, this is social media. You're supposed to engage with your audience, not just post stuff and broadcast, right? Imagine that, actually responding to somebody who wrote to you. A lot of companies don't. Let alone, too, actually sending them something to say thank you. Like this. So what has this done for me now, right? I love Cafe Dimitri even more. I'm gonna go there more often. I'm gonna tell my friends more about it. I'm gonna influence more people to go there and buy for them. I'm going to make a video like this, and now all you guys are going to see it, seeing how great a company Café Dimitri is. All that for $10, right? And a little bit of social recognition. It's not that hard. Do it for your business, and if there are other companies that you can connect to and influence, tell them they need to do the same thing. So thank you, Café Dimitri. And for those of you watching, take some time today to thank somebody who's had an impact on your life, your business, or a company like Cafe Dimitri, who you like their business practices and you want to just say thank you, keep up the great work. Thanks you guys so much for watching. Continue to believe, and if you like this video, you want to see more just like it, subscribe to the channel. I'll see you soon.
