Hi, this is Nina. Today I'm gonna make chickpea salad. This is a request from Maria back in I don't know how long, so here we are. This is my first time making this, so I don't know how it will turn out, but I think it's good to try it out because I like chickpeas. We make chickpeas, we make hummus with chickpeas. Sometimes Evan snacks a lot, like I make him chickpeas. He just mix it with the herbs, salt, and pepper. So thank you, Maria, for for giving me this opportunity to try it out. And let's start! So for this recipe, we need 16 ounces of chickpeas, and I made this a while back. I froze it, so you just take it out whenever you're ready to eat. If you don't like to make it yourself, you can always buy a can or two from the grocery store. So first, I'm gonna drain out the chickpeas and wash it a little bit. I'm gonna put in this cup. It has the ounces on the side. So I need 16 ounces. Okay, so dump it in this bowl. I'm gonna put everything in this bowl. Also, the nutrition in chickpeas, it has like a lot of iron, you know, it's good for you, and also have magnesium and B6. Okay, so I'm gonna dump it in here. And also we need 1/2 cup of red onions, so I'm gonna chop this up. I hate cutting onions because it makes you cry. First I'm gonna cut it in half and then cut it in another half. Make it colder. Okay, I'm gonna break it a little bit so it's not in a huge chunk. So half cup, it's about half of the onion. So now we're gonna add the cucumbers. I only have half of the cucumber left, so usually you can use 1 cup of the cucumbers. It depends on what you like. I always divide it into half and then flip it over, cut it into cubes. This is half cup, so 2 of the half cup. This is 1 cup. And then next, we're gonna add some pepper. Green pepper. This is Evan's favorite. He really likes peppers. Every time I bought him green peppers, he never eats it. I always have to cut it up into slices and give it to him. Put it in front of his face. Rinse it up. How I cut the pepper, you see the shape of the cup of peppers. I always cut through these and remove the seeds. Okay, so same thing, cut the pepper in cubes. Sides. Okay, so use 1 cup of peppers. Now I'm going to add 1 cup of celery stick. I like to buy the Costco ones because it's already washed. Okay, so 1 cup. Okay, now we're gonna add 1½ cups of cherry tomatoes. Well, usually I cut it like this, but these knives are not that sharp. It's not sharpened, so I have to cut it like this. Just cut in half, it's fine. You don't know what Evan's doing in the background. Actually, you don't want to know. This is 1 cup. I need a bigger bowl. I need another half a cup. Okay, so this is the half cup, 1.5 cups cherry tomatoes. So right now I'm gonna add some parsley, 1/4 cup of parsley. I'm gonna chop this up. Chop up the parsley finely, very, very, very tiny. So, 1/4 cup. Oh, I chopped more than 1/4. Please chop up more than 1/4 cup. Okay. So 1/4 cup. 1/2 cup of lemon juice. 1/2 cup of lemon juice is about 2 large lemons. So I'm gonna dump this in. So right now we need 1/4 cup of virgin olive oil. Then you can use 1 teaspoon of salt. For me, Just to taste. Add it a little bit. And then peppers. Add some grind— grind some peppers on it. Now mix it up. You can add some cheese. In the recipe says blue cheese, but we don't have blue cheese, and you don't like blue cheese. I'm gonna add some chili pepper. I could eat spicy food, but Evan doesn't really like spicy, so I'm just gonna eat A little bit. Just a little bit for flavor. So the salad's ready. I think it looks very pretty and smells good too. We're gonna actually taste it, see how it turned out. I'm kind of nervous because I've never made this before.
Oh, mm, mm, oh wow. Wow, that's a great mix. I don't even know what I'm tasting. Each bite is—
mm. It sets a lot of flavor in your mouth.
Yeah, wow. Everything is amazing. The lemon pops. Maria, amazing work. I'm loving it. Okay, well, we're gonna eat this.

Little bit left. I'm gonna put it back into this. Oh! I dropped the whole— whatever left over. Oh, that sucks.
Is that gonna be raw onion?
Yeah, it's raw onion.
Are we gonna make out after this?
Do you wanna? I don't think I would want to make out with you after you eat this. I already feel the onion, the, the, the— what is it? The acid. It's getting to my eyes already. What are you doing? What are you doing? Evan always said that I'm very tiny. Stop going on your tippy toe. Stop it, it makes my back hurt. Hey! One cup. Oh my God, did you hear the sneeze? The whole house shook.
Tomatoes and chickpeas. There's a lot of salt. I love it though.
Hmm, sorry, I did put a little too much salt.
No, because I think, Christina, we should do like a slow motion replay when Nina had it like this and was going—
Okay, so this is about 1 teaspoon.
That was a teaspoon of salt.
We will Add some cherry grapes. I'm trying to see the— what? What?
Cherry grapes?
Grapes? Cherry? Cherry grapes?
Cherry tomatoes?
Oh yeah. So we're gonna dump this in. Oh, I forgot to remove the pit. It's all over here. Oh my God. We need 1/4 cup of virgin oil. Virgin olive oil. A quarter cup virgin. No! No!
